FX Fighter
Developed by NEC HE - Fighting - Unreleased

This title was a graphic showcase demo - a demonstration of what the PC-FX could do before it actually became available. It is unknown if it was an actual playable game or just a FMV image of some very well done polygon fighters, but according to the demo shown at the 1994 Tokyo Toy Show, it seemed that it was playable. All seemed well for the elaborate computer graphic rendered fighter, till NEC HE pulled the plug - the reason was that the game would have exceeded the storage space of the CD-ROM due to the many high-quality scenes of FMV needed to make up each characters moves.

FX Fighter never made it past the half-way mark in the development stage, and was never released on the open market. As far as the game goes, at the 1994 Tokyo Toy Show it had two characters that were playable, but it had been reported that between 3 to 4 characters were being finished (if not done). Gameplay was basied off of the later released "Battle Heat" fighter (which also used FMV to represent characters moves) however it seemed that FX Fighter didn't have quite as elaborate gameplay system.

Did any demos of FX Fighter ever make it out of NEC HE? Nobody knows, but this game was one of the most wanted by FX owners back in the day.
