Lil’ Red Riding Hood CHA-CHA (Akazukin Cha Cha)

Added 7.5.97 | Review by Anthony Jones

Hello fellow PC-FX game players. Once again I'm doing a game review on a very unique game called,Little Red Riding Hood CHA-CHA "Little Red Riding Hood CHA CHA (Panic Race!)." This game has to be one of the best multi-player games out on the PC-FX. Did I say multi player? YES, that's right! Up to six people can play at once using only one controller or by sharing two. Cute little "CHA CHA", first of all, is a board game based on a Japanese children's cartoon that is currently on Nippon TV Saturday and Sunday. I must say this cartoon is very popular and humorous. All the characters in CHA CHA are slap stick Little Red Riding Hood CHA-CHAidols of all your favorite grim fairy tale stories. Such as Little Red Riding Hood, Little Mermaid, Hazel and Gretel, etc. Not only are all the characters from the original cartoon are in the game but even ALL the ANIMATION from most of the series. As you first start the game, the controls are as easy as ONE, TWO and THREE. You will be glad to know that no Japanese is required. This game is a no brainier to figure out, and for those of you who know a little in Japanese, you will be glad to know that all the messages and menus are in HIRAGANA and KATAKANA ONLY! (What can I say, its a children's game). The objective of the game is to play as one of the six characters trying to complete a scavenger hunt in a board game. Every time you roll the dice and move your character in the board game you will be pleased at the EXCELLENT ANIME short CINEMA to explain your move. For example: If you character lands on a danger/lose your turn space....a short anime cinemas will show your character being smashed by a 10 ton weight. The loading time is amazingly quick and there tons of hidden secrets to be found. For those of you who think board games are for children, think twice because this game is also a RPG! The only big flaw to Little Red Riding Hood CHA-CHAthis game and with any of the FMV games is once you seen all the cinemas it gets boring. BUT what are the odds of roll the dice the same and playing a board game exactly the same as the last time. These examples of the diversity definitely saves this game. With games like this, PC-FX can surely capture the young at heart game players looking for a cute alternate adventure. ALittle Red Riding Hood CHA-CHAs for the music and soundtrack to CHA CHA, it's just plain SUPER. For the first time I enjoyed something that I did not mind hearing repeatedly. I would like to highly recommend this game for those of you that would like a game that is a different and a sure crowd pleaser. I mean party pleaser. So sit back and be prepared to play a Japanese Anime CANDY LAND on PC-FX.
