Q: The PC-FX is rated at 100V - Will using the PC-FX on an American outlet (120V) damage it?
A: Not at all. The other 20V dissipates as heat though the PC-FX heat vents - But if you are worried about it, you can pick up a power converter at any electronics store (like Radio Shack).

Q: If I don’t use a power converter, will the heat damage my PC-FX if I leave it on for hours on end?
A: Again, no. The system will get hot, but not to the point of damaging the internal workings of the system. Now if you are covering the heat vents on the FX with something (a book, cloth, etc...) then there will be a high chance the system may overheat to the point of causing internal damage.

Q: My CD skips during a FMV sequence. What should I do?
A: This seems to be a common problem. First you should clean the lens of the PC-FX with a air lens brush, or a lens cloth (to make sure there is no dirt or dust on the lens head). Second, clean the CD thoroughly with a CD cleaner.  Make sure you follow the directions on how to do this.

Q: My CD still skips during the FMV sequence! What now?
A: You either have a damaged CD (either by design, or you have scratched it enough to effect the information), or a malfunctioning lens. Most likely it’s the CD. Your only recourse is to buy one of those CD Repair Kits to try to repair the CD. If that does not help, you’re unfortunately out of luck.

General CD Care Guidelines
- Do not leave the discs near heat sources or expose them to direct sunlight or excessive moisture.
- Store the discs in their cases when not using them.
- Do not touch the surface of the discs when handling them.
- Do not stick paper or tape on the discs.
- Do not write on the discs with a marker.
- Do not get fingerprints on the discs - this may cause read errors while playing the disc.

General System Handling Precautions

Avoid rough handling or mechanical shock to the unit. The unit and the disc may be damaged!

Never force the CD lid closed! It should move freely at all times.

To avoid electrical shock, do not disassemble your PC-FX!

Don’t block or cover the heat vents for any reason - the system may overheat and cause internal damage!

Do not drop or jolt the unit. Failure to do so will cause serious damage!

Never touch the CD lens! To protect the lens from dust and/or dirt, keep the cover closed except when placing and removing the disc. If the lens is not clean, the unit may not operate properly.

Don’t place unit in direct sunlight or in front of heaters! This may cause unnecessary overheating of the system and may cause damage!

The unit may cause harmful interference to radio and/or TV sets if used in a certain setup. To fix this problem, relocate the unit, or connect the unit to an outlet on a different circuit from the TV or radio.

Never place your unit near table edges, nor on unleveled surfaces!

Never remove the controller cable by tugging on the cable.  Damage to the controller cable may occur.

Make sure the power is off when inserting a controller.  If the power is on, the game may not recognize the controller properly.

To prevent electric shock, do not use the PC-FX AC plug with an extension cord, receptacle or other outlet unless the blades can be fully inserted to prevent blade exposure!

When not using the 2nd controller port, insert the included port cover to project the port from dirt & dust.

Never remove or insert expansion cards from any of the ports when the system is turned on. This will cause a sudden electrical shock to the system that may cause internal damage!
