It's no Aura Interactor but it's OK. I just had a great idea, I could USE BOTH AT ONCE! IMG

Been around for a while but thought I'd make it easier to find -

Kreator - Extreme Agression

I know this was posted here already but I thought it deserved its own thread.

Long time PC Engine fan Tru has released an alpha version translation patch for this cool game:

pcengine-fx.com/downloads/
pcengine-fx.com/downloads/StartlingOdyssey2(US)v099.zip
pcengine-fx.com/downloads/StartlingOdysseyII-vwf.zip - (VWFont by EsperKnight, only works with YAME emulator!)
http://forums.magicengine.com/en/viewtopic.php?t=2411

Already trying it out here!

These results IF you use the VWF ISO and only with the included YAME emulator!

Thought I'd try putting together a couple of TG16 joysticks using Japanese parts this time. This one was put together using stuff that was laying around the house other than the stick itself which had to be ordered. The case is painted 3/4 inch mdf and the stick and buttons are Seimitsu (LS32-01). The wiring is sloppy mainly because I may pull the guts out of this at a later time. The ghetto looking switches on top are the turbo switches.

IMG

Due to some health problems, it's much easier for me to use a joystick for shooting games and so far I'm really happy with the Seimitsu.

The other stick has a more compact case, better turbo switch placement and a heck of a lot better picture on the top. Can't post pics of it yet because it may become a gift.

I'm hoping some of the Japanese readers here could translate the menu items in the picture below into simple English. The game is Mahjong Shikaka Retsuden Mahjong Wars.

IMG

I know roughly what each does but some translation would be great. Thanks!

Yeah, another Anearth subject. I do play other games, I promise.  :)

As many of you probably know, there's three versions of Anearth Fantasy Stories for the PC Engine floating around the  internet. There's the original version, the taikenban version (which contains the Cychorider shooting game), and a "debug" version.

Does anyone here have any information where the debug version may have come from? Who is TWI Soft? Why are the debug menus in English? What was this used for? I noticed that if you press the menu button during the game, it will give you the X and Y coordinates of where you are at. Why did they put pictures of wrestlers and other strange folk in the game? Inquiring minds want to know! Here's a couple of pics from the game so you can see what I'm talking about.

I noticed they used Thief, Magician, Fighter, Priest instead of Thief, Wizard, Swordsman, Monk like I did on my walk through. Trying to decide still which is better/more correct.

So, does anyone here have the scoop on this version? If not, wild guesses will be fine.

Update 2/15: Figured out a much better way of doing this (I hope). If there's something here you are interested in, please PM me with the following information. What you want, what you are offering in trade (something from my list, cash) who you are (some reference would be nice), and where you are. For example: "I'll give you Body Harvest (cart only), Zelda (complete) and a picture of my mother for one of the joysticks. My Ebay Id is luvbutter and I'm located in Idaho."  Or  "I'll paypal ya $1.73 for all the games shipped to my door in Guam. I've dealt with aaron here before."  Might throw some more stuff on here later if things go well.

Things I'm looking for:

N64 - Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time
N64 - Body Harvest
N64 - Ogre Battle 64
N64 - Space Station Silicon Valley
N64 - Starcraft 64
N64 - Harvest Moon 64
with manual preferred but make offer

A working SNES with controller and cables.

A nice condition Saturn that can play Japanese games.

A decent set of gamebits.

========================

Here some stuff I have to trade:

Ultra Box 1, 2, 3, and 4. Got these recently in a deal but already own them. The cases are beat to hell (cracked, broken), but the discs play fine and the manuals are ok. Don't know about others, but I get a lot of fun out of these.
Here's a poorly taken pic -

IMG

Or how about some Acemore Super Sticks for the TG-16? (these have the big plug) These are actually new in the box but they've been sitting around here for a loooong time (boxes may be worn). Taken from the box - Slow Motion Select / Auto-Fire Holding / 8 Direction Precision Micro Action / Feel and Action of Arcade Joystick / Suction Cups for Optimum Stability. Yeah, not sure about all that, but they do ok.
Another ugly pic-

IMG

That's all I've got for now until I can find my other damn camera.

Arrrg! I'm stuck. Hoping GUTS or someone can help me out here.

Seems there is something here to take, but when I try, I just warp out of the area -

IMG

...and this dude won't let me into the cave -

IMG

...and though I can tell they're out of water here, I can only enter or exit the town from the one side -

IMG

Like always, I'm sure it's something easy I'm missing but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
Thanks!

Finally got around to playing this game after owning it for years. Managed to make it through 5 or 6 scenes so far but it would really be helpful if I knew what all the abbreviations were in the game. Here's a pic showing some of them -

IMG

Of course some of them are obvious but could use some help on the others. The bottom ones are weapon stats if that helps.  Anyone here know them all?

Other than that, I'm really enjoying the game so far!

Interesting topic. So was the cd rom drive different than the one used with the PC Engine?

By the way, if anyone knows the origin of these images let me know. They were uploaded to one of my sites but I know I've seen them before and I want to be sure the proper person gets credit for them.

And here's a look inside the PAL Turbografx -

The system is a very attractive grey colour instead of the North American version's black.
IMG
This is the mainboard, featuring the same 3 chips as every other PC Engine and Turbo* system ever made.  Note however the extra Sony CXA1145 chip, which converts the RGB output from the system into PAL-friendly video.  The system runs at 50Hz, so it's slower than the JP and US models.
IMG
The logo's different and there's an AV port where, on the US model, there's an RF port.
IMG
Note the crazy pinout, completely incompatible with the US and JP systems.  Same number of pins but weird spacing.

just for comparison purposes.
