1. Cave Story (Switch) - Stuck on the end boss.

4. The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time (3DS) - Got caught up playing FFVII instead, I'll go back and finally beat this eventually. But in a year where a stellar open world Zelda game came out, this took a back seat.

6. Bloodborne (PS4) - I'm not sure I will ever beat it.

1 - which "end boss?" the real end boss or just the doctor? what weapons do you have?

4 - you passed up OoT for GTA Hyrule? I'm so disappointed tucc.
to be fair though, Majora is better.

Secret Santa is here again!  Here's the rules:
2.  Sign ups are open until the first(ish) of November, at which time everyone'll be matched up and wish lists will be sent out to their respective Santa.
3.  Due to an unfortunate issue last year, no noobs allowed.  Santas must have a minimum of 50 posts or have a long timer vouch for them.

Other than the two laggards and their Santas, lists have been sent to everyone.

Yeah, I never held on to the boxes, I might still have my old LEGO magazines somewhere.

I probably had the most fun with the late 90s sets, but maybe that's just cuz it was what was new when i was a kid.
I remember getting a couple 50 gallon buckets of legos courtesy of my grandparents as a kid because they were my uncle's when he was a kid, that was a good day
Even as a kid though, I hated having to sort through EVERYTHING any time i wanted a specific piece.
so my mom bought a bunch of these little rubbermaid containers meant for shoes, I'm pretty sure my legos are still color sorted at her place......

for me though, lego started to fade around the time i started high school, which is just as well because that's around the time they started with this monstrosity of a bad decision:

which serve as an interrupt to the normal AV cables.
these serve 3 purposes -
1. the RCA jacks allow you to more easily hook up to a stereo.
2. it gets more convenient to plug in an infrequently used guncon compatible light gun that requires composite video for sync.
3. you can use a video connection other than composite (this is the real reason to use it)

additionally, if you're using SCART cables, there's these:

Pawn shop was clearing out some playstations, so i grabbed a 1001, a couple in between models, and 2 psOne systems.

also went back and grabbed that red digital PSX controller and a copy of taito legends 2 for PS2 (liquid kids bruh).

but the big score this week was a regular at my bar coming out while I'm working the door and asking "hey man, you play old games, right? I've got like 2 boxes of stuff I need to get rid of before I move, you want em?"
and, well....

bought a new hard drive for my PS3 and my original xbox, nothing fancy, but a much needed upgrade.

also, a copy of the Yakuza 2 reprint

For the PS3 a 500+ GB HDD is a must. It's been 10+ years since I last upgraded my og Xbox drive, do I wanna go through that again? maybe if I can use an SSD, or a modern SATA drive (I'm on softmod, will have to do some research)

yeah, i went with a 640 on my ps3 cuz i got a deal.
as far as OG xbox, anything above 100 and you're fine unless you want to put tons of retail games on there.
I opted for 500.
*edit* tried to install it - the drive i got is DOA

as far as using a SATA drive, they make adapters, but it's a bit more difficult to get the drive set up right
not eeeeeevery IDE->SATA adapter works.
plus, it may require you to push the extra storage onto one of the cache drives, which CAN (but not always) cause problems if you play a lot of different games.
also, I haven't used one, but I've heard using a SATA adapter can cause the boot process to slow down.

on to my new pick up-
I realized my xbox was v1.6, and therefore no 480p for some games, THIS WILL NOT DO.
so I hopped on letgo, searched "xbox" and got this for $20:
