@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Just posting a quick update: we're now officially in beta testing. There is still work to be done, as a couple of substages aren't quite finished yet, but this should only take a few more days to complete. Here's hoping anyways. Last week of dev coming up.

OK so here's the deal on Lucretia... since the code is already at 100% and just requires sprites, Sarumaru is going to work on those as soon as the PCE version of Henshin Engine comes to a close. It will take approximately one month to complete. In the interim, I will be finishing off the PC conversion of Henshin Engine. Thus, Lucretia and the PC build of Henshin Engine will be finished at roughly the same time, approximately one month after PCE HE goes off to the pressing house. From there, Lucretia goes off to press and the source code to the PC build of HE goes off to the various other developers who will be converting the game to other platforms.

There will also be a PC build of Lucretia, using the same game engine as the PC build of Henshin Engine. ERGE, as it's called, is a very flexible game engine built in-house at Eponasoft over the past few years and can accommodate a wide variety of game systems. It will likely be used for all future PC conversions of Saru Studio titles, including Oni Island and Gods Of Lightning. Speaking of Gods Of Lightning...

Oh, so you thought Stage 01 was easy? Well then, chew on this... the stage has been doubled in size, and part of the new final stretch is this challenge...

Remember those falling rocks between the columns in the cave? Well, they're back in the extended version of the stage, only now instead of jumping between stationary columns, you have to dodge them while on fast-moving platforms. Still think this game is a breeze?

The revised stage 2 is almost complete. Hopefully these images show up... they're hotlinked from FB. :P

The opening story is done... all-new images to replace the original placeholder images that I merely found on a google image search. :)

New character portraits... a small step towards completion but a step nonetheless.

We had an awesome showing of the game at Lvl Up Expo. :D We were even able to display multiple builds of the game, as I had my dev laptop with me and could update the game on-the-fly. Saturday's first build had a couple of bugs in it and no one could beat it except me, and even then only twice... yeah, it was that hard. I made a new build Saturday that fixed a few of the issues, making it more playable. Sunday's first build made it possible for people to actually get through stage 1-1, though it was still pretty hard... so I made a second build which increased the life count from 3 to 9. We actually had a few people clear the demo when said changes were made. Sarumaru and I both got pics of people playing the demo.

Been awhile since I had anything new to report on this, but now I do... with the addition of Sarumaru to our art staff, things have started to move forward again.

I still have hundreds of copies of MSR and can't get rid of them so I'm putting them out at a ridiculous price.

Well ... there's the V810 VWF-code that I wrote for Zeroigar and posted in one of the other threads when you're ready to tackle that nasty ROM font in Alex's example code!
Oh yeah, definitely... and I'm gonna test the hell out of this thing and annoy you further ;) haha

After being a royal pain in elmer's ass (sorry bro hehe), I got the toolchain working here... so now comes the fun part. :D

Quote from: Nulltard on 01/02/2016, 10:35 PMDude... did you seriously just clear that in less than 48 hours even with all the grinding needed due to the WD glitch?  AND Camp California in that same time window??!

IMG
Camp California was one of my favorite games back in the day. I never lost my touch at that game, and I understand how to manipulate Byron so he platforms like a boss. Exile WP is the same deal. I spend the most time in the Spire Of Eternity, building up levels. The rest is just memory. I actually went through the Tower Of Souls without taking a single hit, and only took one hit on The Great Ark (from a floor wave attack) and one hit from the genie (charging attack, before his pattern settled). Turrican... same deal... favorite back in the day, I remember where everything is, which path to take, and when to use the buzzsaw or fire off special weapons.

Quote from: esteban on 05/08/2014, 06:04 PMIdentifying the privileges men enjoy in society is not man-hating.
How about ignoring the privileges women enjoy in society? What is that?

Quote from: esteban on 05/08/2014, 06:04 PMI am simply pointing out that men, as a group, have benefitted socially, economically, politically, emotionally, etc. by virtue of simply being men.
So have women.

Quote from: esteban on 05/08/2014, 06:04 PMNow, not all men have enjoyed the fullest advantages (just ask a latino/black male, or a gay male, or a Muslim male, etc.)...but men as a group, have enjoyed privileges at the detriment to women and it is long past time to change our culture, our beliefs, our hearts.

That is all.
Virtually no one "enjoys" these illusory "privileges". Privilege theory is total bullshit. It's just a convenient cop-out for people who don't want to listen to the opposing point of view. The only ones with privilege are the rich. Hell, one could argue that we all here now, whether male or female, have privilege over those in third-world nations who've never even heard of the internet or personal computers.

This one?

It was also in PS4. Perhaps it was also in 2 and 3, I don't know. I noticed a few other Phantasy Star sprites too:

Interesting... Vampires Dawn gets some of their sprites from the same source I did... also interestingly enough, they're also using another source I'm using, primarily for my larger sprites. All of the sprites I've shown so far are from RM2... for my larger ones, they are sourced from RM95. Looks like they are using at least three more sources as well, although I don't recognize some of them. I recognize some RM2K sprites in their bestiary. There is a lot of variance of quality there.

For example:
IMG
is from RM2.

IMG
is from RM95.

IMG
is from RM2K.

IMG IMG
are taken from the Phantasy Star series.

IMG
I have no idea where they got this one from. But notice a serious quality difference between that sprite and

IMG
this one.

Cops don't act, they react. That's what they're paid to do. Someone else does the stupid shit, and the cops come in to sweep up the pieces. Glorified journalists with guns on the government dime.

Here's a screenshot of Stage 3. As with every other stage in this game, it features heavy parallax scrolling. Nando is still working on the enemy set for this stage but should be done soon.
