So, I am sitting here, reading forums. Watching my tracking status on some items and playing Double Dungeons.

You know, after 3 beers every hallway looks the same. Oh wait, maybe it was always that way. But... I actually do find enjoyment in this game so.....

Paulaner is the beer of choice for me. I have tried many many beers over the years and I know I have a ton to still try but, Paulaner is the beer I keep going back to. It is a German wheat beer. Very smooth and I can drink them and wonder wtf where did my beer go as I go to get another from the fridge.

I dislike most IPA's as I don't like the sour or bitterness that they have.

Let us know what your drinking beverage of choice is. :)

On a scale of 1-10 how bitter is that IPA PunkCryborg?

The best IPA I have tried is Bells : Two Hearted
And honestly it was still a little to bitter for me and that was very mild compared to some I tried.

BigusSchmuck

The darker the better. Irish Death or if I'm feeling cheap Lokos.

So Stouts? How about Dragons Milk?
I can drink it but drinking a bottle in 10min sends me swimming as it's soooo strong. But I did enjoy it's flavor it's just to strong. It's like jumping over the cliff with no parachute and saying f*ck it lets do this.

What is Irish Death though? Explain it :) pretty please.

ToyMachine78

New Belgium/ Flaming Lips has a Salted Belgian Chocolate Stout that is damn good!

sn0zc0r3

The higher ABV, the higher the chance I'll like it.

These days I've been drinking more liquor than anything, just to keep the beer belly from getting any larger. I stick with either Hendricks Gin or Red Breast 12 or 15 year. The fiance is pretty damn irish and drinks Jameson like it's water, so I use that as a go-to when my mainstays aren't around.

Beer wise - Dragon's Milk, Bourbon County Stout, Dogfish Head 90 Minute, Delerium Noel, and Chimay Blue are fantastic.

If my friends and I are playing drinking games though? Cheap beer FTW. Ain't no way I'm wasting the good and pricey stuff on a game of Hockey.

MNKyDeth

I know I am replying a lot here but yeah toymachine Saisons are usually very good imo. The few Belgium beers I have tried are Hoegaarden ?   and Leffe. Both were solid although Leffe had a hard after taste. The first two beers were a bit hard to drink but after that they went down easy peasy lol.

Have you tried both Leffe Blonde and Leffe Brune? I greatly prefer the brune over the blonde.

MNKyDeth

I think it was the Blonde I had, I didn't know there was a Brune. Next time I am at my local place I will see if they have Brune.

What are the differences?

sn0zc0r3

The Brune is sweeter and has less of the same kind of after taste the blonde has. I'm not the best in terms of describing that kind of stuff, but I also have the same feelings towards the blonde so I'm guessing you also may enjoy the Brune more.

o.pwuaioc

I'd say Southern Tier's Mokah is my favorite of all time, especially on draft.

I like the Leffe blonde. Not a big fan of the brune.

Two Hearted is one of the best bottled IPAs I can find around here.
As for Belgians I would highly recommend St. Bernardus 12 and Rochefort 10

Probably a 7/8. It's hoppy but the white oak adds a nice vanilla sweet flavor. The regular Jai Alai is already excellent and they have a very Florida citrus flavor profile

CGQuarterly

I mostly drink local-ish beer (stuff from NorCal and Oregon).  The only widely available beer that I drink on the reg is Guinness, and I buy it by the case at Costco.

VenomMacbeth

I'm not too awfully picky, piss is piss.  I do enjoy Yuengling, Guinness, and the odd Blue Moon here & there.

My favorite though would have to be the Rogue Voodoo Donuts maple bacon stout.  I actually ate that exact donut when I went to Portland to pick up my deceased father's things, and the beer tastes exactly like the donut...if donuts were beer.  Gives me warm fuzzies.

Flensburger Pilsner, one of the few beers left with the nowadays iconic shackle lock. My number one.
Can also be seen here in numerous scenes... if you look very closely:
For non-alcoholic beer, Krombacher Alkoholfrei tastes fine. Just a hair away from its alcoholic variant.
I tried some Belgian beers in the past, but due to their nature, you drink them more like wine.
Bavarian wheat beers fill up your stomach quickly like they're still fermenting, so drink with caution.

Some restaurants where I live serve Japanese beer like Kirin, Asahi and Sapporo. Some are more bitter, some less.

seieienbu

Shiner Bock is my personal favorite.  However, lately I've been on a bit of a cider kick and just trying every cider at the liquor store.
Current want list:  Bomberman 93

I like pale lagers. My favourite is a Portuguese one called coral. I like Labatts too

Clod that sounds tasty.  I love Pilsner's, Ale's, and Lager's. I really like Gulden Draak and Piraat

Yesterday I drank nothing but stouts.  I had a St. Peter's Cream Stout, an Anderson Valley Brewing Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout, a Deschutes Obsdian Stout, and a couple of Guinnesses.  I kind of wanted an imperial stout, but that shit's too high in alcohol for a school night.

ClodBusted

If porter, then only Lausitzer Porter Schwarzes for me. However, I'm not sure if it really fits your definition of a porter beer.

It's always the right time for a high ABV stout! School night, schmool night. My students can't tell if I had a glass of wine the night before or three imperial stouts.

I've not tried any of the ones you named (except Guinness). You recommend them?

Out of the beers that I listed, I would say that I liked the Obsidian the least.  It was still good, just not as much (lacking body).  Barney Flats is great, but I don't know how widely Anderson Valley is distributed (nor do I know where you are located).  The cream porter is also awesome, but tastes a little bit different for obvious reasons.  It's also pretty expensive so that's a bummer.  The guy with whom I was drinking bought a Sierra Nevada Stout, which I took a swig of, and we both agreed that it was a pretty poor showing from an otherwise solid brewery.

Edit: Normally I would agree with you about it being a school night, but I have a midterm on Monday in a very difficult class, so this is not a good time for me to get too lit up.  I drank too much last night as it is, but not so much that I am feeling any after-effects today.

There actually is some beer you don't drink.  Even if it is free.

Fat Tire, Sam Adams...easy goto beers. I'll get any marzen or Octoberfest if on tap. I'm a sucker for a growler too. I stick to the 5% stuff...no fruit or coffee, I like beer to taste like beer.

...I can drink High Life if I'm hard up tho.

Any of you guys try "Goldmine"?  It's $3 per 6-pack at Whole Foods.  I think it's pretty good for what it is, and it gets a decent score on Beer Advocate (a lot better than Coors Light, anyway).

HL is easier to find than Genesee in my area. Utica and Red Stripe are more common at my stores, it's drinkable cheap piss too.

Like Punky said, life's too short for piss beer...when you have the funds. When I travel, I'll always opt'd for the local brew on tap. Sometimes you get winners, other times you get tree sap for fruit punch...as long as the booze does it's job I say.

These two statements are kind of in conflict with each other.  I see "piss beer" as a means to an end.  Sometimes I want to sit and enjoy a proper beer, in which case I get some good stuff.  Sometimes I just want to pound some beers while watching sports, wrenching on my car, whatever.  Then I get the cheap shit.  Sometimes I want something in between the two, and then I go for something like Guinness or whatever interesting beer Costco is selling by the case.

I like Stella even if it is the Budweiser of Belgium.  Never tried that Tiger, but it's a Lager so I'm sure I'd probably like it.  Are those your main go to's for beer Digi.k?

I love beer generally, from Tecate Lights to Stone Ruination. Beer is great. Right now my favorite beers are Amber Ales, Mother Earth and Society brew good ones. I live pretty close to Manzanita and they have a delicious Pale Ale. I can enjoy and appreciate hoppyness and mouth feel, but I prefer a less bitter and more drinkable ale or lager.
