@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Sorry howtobasic is one of the worst things on YouTube, hell even the internet...

Let's wreck shit and waste food for views while fucking up shit that could easily be used for better purposes.

Just my .02 in the matter, carry on.

Completely agree. So much wasted food. If it were all spoiled or something, that would maybe make a difference.

Normally I agree, but it would be hard to find a better use for a decade old laptop than to entertain a few hundred people with its smashing. If you think this was wastefull, you should see the cubic mile of garbage that gets left behind by the production of virtually any Hollywood movie.

I don't follow any YouTube channel because, frankly, it's seems like it's all a giant trailer park full of fat nerds who somehow have the time to film 100 episodes of totally useless garbage but can't take to time understand stuff like...lighting, or how to record sound. So I'm only commenting on this specific video, not the emotional baggage, and personally I thought it was good. Not because he smashed a laptop, that's probably been done at least 10,000 times on YouTube, but because it was shot like Evil Dead 2. Also, in the end Firefox is usually the best answer.

I usually just grab a Linux CD. Makes old systems run like new and people can keep trucking along without buying a new system.

Welp, if it works for my mom I am sure it works for 90% of every avg Joe out there.

So, according to some stats I looked up, youtube partners make about $7 per 1000 ad views. Since sometimes, people don't get ads, or they have adblock installed, we can estimate that he probably gets about 1,000,000 views with ads on a 2.5 million view video per "How to Basic." That means, he's bringing in around $7000 per video. He makes 3ish a month, bringing in $21,000 a month, or $252,000 a year.

Let that sink in.

that's exactly what it is.
it's all spoiled/broken/otherwise unsellable shit anyway.

GRANTED -
this is by the "best by" date, not necessarily rotten food.
but it's stuff that can't be sold.

iirc, he rounds up food from local grocers and the stuff he doesn't use gets donated to homeless shelters etc.

Video went on for too long I think, and it probably just deserved a spot in the "Watcha watching on Youtube?" thread instead of its own.

Yeah, definitely didn't need its own thread.

I thought the first couple howtobasics I saw were pretty funny, back when it consisted of simple things. There's definitely a saturation point, though, and it comes very quickly.

The Game Sack guys must be raking it in with 2-300K views per month.

...Yeah. I totally agree.

ClodBusted

That video I posted was the first I've seen of that "Howtobasic" channel.

I found it funny since I wasn't expecting anything like this to be happen when I watched it. All that ridiculous and overly violent (?) stuff.

However, now that I've seen more of these videos, I agree with you guys that they all follow pretty much the same pattern and thus get on my nerves now.

I'm sorry.

The "How To Make A Subway Sandwich" video was fucking hilarious. The stir fry one, though, was totally insane. A chef friend showed me those two videos, and we got the feeling that he was a really disgruntled and angry cook/chef by the way he perfectly fried the egg in the oil and then continued to completely lose his mind, especially when plating the food  :-& :-& :-&

And yes, they now just follow exactly the same format.
