10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

Since a few weeks, I have a very annoying problem with my Duo RX console. Suddenly it stopped loading CD games normally.
When I start the console and press "run" the drive starts spinning very hard, much harder than before. I don't recieve a "load error" or something, it just keeps spinning.

Sometimes after a few minutes the speed goes down to a "normal" level and the game starts eventually. But most of the times it continues with ridiculous fast spinning and nothing happens. Not even a error message.

Is there anybody who has/had the same problem and knows a fix?

BTW: I already tried a new CD lens, but that didn't solve the problem.

I got this problem in the past when I was using CDRs with my system. When went back to playing original discs everything was fine again.

My Duo RX had a similar problem until I replaced the lens. All I can recommend is checking the lens to make sure it's hooked up properly and none of the wires got tugged out during the original install. I know it was hard for me to remove the original lens without ripping out a couple wires. Of course, I couldn't fully lift up the top shell because of it's other mods...
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Thanks for the tips. I already tried a new lens, but the results are the same :-( No game for now... but I will check all the little wires when I return home!
