WHICH PCE SIDE SHOOTER HAS THE BEST BOSS FIGHTS?

Here's the horizontal version of my best bosses poll. The winning game will get its own poll for best boss in the game- and that best boss will square off with the best vert boss.

Poll's open for 30 days- and three maximum votes no changing.

I forgot to list R-Type Complete CD- doesn't matter though- same as R-Type practically no? I would have combined those votes anyway.

No, but I know who did. And I actually was on the verge of picking it, and only didn't because it's lacking in actual quantity of bosses.

Do mini-bosses count? Super Darius II's mini-bosses beat most other shooters' end bosses.

Yeah I'd say mini-bosses count- as Soldier Blade's final boss appears in some levels as a mini-boss...

Dead Moon's turtle and various skeletal birds, dinosaurs, etc. are just surreal. I'm not sure what they have to do with an alien invasion, but they're cool as hell nonetheless.

I voted Winds/Lords of Thunder. That game blew me away when I first bought it! I laughed when I looked at my SNES while I was playing Lords of Thunder. That game was fairly easy though on Normal mode. Play it on Hard without buying any power ups. There's a nice challenge for ya!

@Necromancer: I loved Dead Moon's bosses. I still think it's a great shooter that doesn't get enough recognition.

Saint Dragon is in the poll- it's listed as Tenseiryu/Saint Dragon. Necro's right though- the game is a wet dog.

I voted AirZonk, Lord of Thunder, and R-type! AirZonk for its bright, fast, colorful, and innovative boss fights! Lords of Thunder because its bosses are just plain cool! R-type for the same reason as LoT; that level 1 boss was the coolest back in the day.

It has flying shooting segments every level- so it's half a shooter- and the non flying parts can ALMOST be considered shooter levels themselves- they're run and gun with forced scrolling.
