Picked this beauty up from cdamm on Neo-Geo.com a few days ago:

After getting it I recapped it, replaced the original power jack with one compatible with a model 1 Genesis/SMS PSU (and appropriately rewired it), and added an NESRGB board. Here's Rockman 4 in glorious RGB:

Just tried this today on a whim with my somewhat yellowed PCE. I didn't get it quite as whitened as I would've liked (I put it outside in a glass pan for a couple of hours and didn't have quite enough developer to totally submerge everything), but I'm real pleased with the results! I'm gonna have to pick up an old fish tank and do a marathon whitening Arkhan-style.

EDIT: Here's the aftermath:

So I get home today after being out of town and I find this waiting for me:

I'm looking to upgrade to an MSX2+ system and I'd like to see what kind of interest I'd get in my boxed FS-A1. It's in really nice working condition, I recently cleaned it out and just today I replaced all the caps. The only flaws with it are that the clamps for the printer port have gone missing, but I doubt anyone would use it with a printer these days. Also, the wires for the real-time clock batteries have been removed so you won't be able to save any BIOS settings (no real loss though). Aside from the box (which is in decent condition) you'll also get the manual, power supply, AV cables and a loose Fantasy Zone cart.

But regarding the issue at hand, here's the deal. These new consoles are bullshit. They offer nothing substantially new from the current gen. Honestly, games in general have changed very little since the Dreamcast, well over a decade ago, except in the departments of sound and graphics. Game design annoys the shit out of my now. The scene is dominated by me-too fps crap and brown-ass time vampire western RPGs and everything has a fucking BOOK WORTH of boring frustrating long-winded tutorial. If I actually had an Xbox 720 or a PS4 you couldn't PAY ME to play the fucker and this is the truth. I barely touch my PS3 and as it is, and that thing is powerful enough to give me every gameplay experience I'd ever want (most recent purchase: league bowling, a game I already own on MVS).

If you are going to boycott these idiot boxes, do it for reasons like mine, or just cave now and preorder the thing. The whole "blocking used games" thing, guess what, they aren't going to do it. Sony didn't "reverse their decision" they never made that decision. As long as you think you win you'll buy the dumb thing. Its the same reason why the federal government lets rednecks keep their guns; as long as they have them they are pacified and will exercise their FREEDOM...to go to work, pay their taxes, sit on their asses and not do anything to change the status quo.

"You are free...to do as we tell you." - Bill Hicks.

By "making demands" like this you are effectively promising to buy the thing because your demands have already been met. They are laughing their ass off at your activism. You are being played.

Sorry to break the news, but its the truth.

Did you get that from Tim in Australia? That guy makes killer stuff. I've bought like 8 of those things over the years.
Yeah, got it from Tim- I'm really impressed with the workmanship. Obviously haven't tried it yet, but the thing looks solid.
The nice thing about the new FM board is that it incorporates a region mod now which means you can play Japanese games without a BIOS replacement. I plan on getting one for my Mark III since you can't use RGB with the original FM unit.

Got all this SMS goodness from psychobear today:

Quote from: ApolloBoy on 11/29/2012, 10:48 PMI've been thinking about downsizing my setup somewhat and I've become interested in replacing my Japanese SMS with a Mark III plus FM unit. My SMS is in good condition and comes with the box and manual, though I hesitate to call it CIB as it doesn't have the RF switch or original AV cable. I also modded the system with S-video and dedicated composite video and audio jacks.

Aside from saving space, the other main reason why I'm interested in trading all this for a Mark III is because I'd like to tinker with the Mark III and see if I can get component video and amplified RGB out of it. I'd like both the Mark III and FM unit to be in good working condition but I will accept a non-working Mark III (with a working FM unit) plus additional cash. I don't need or want any hookups with the Mark III and I would also prefer the original controllers as I'll be including my SMS controllers with my system.
You willing to sell the JP SMS for cash? Been trying to get that model for a while.
I might be willing to do it but I'd like to immediately replace it with a Mark III so I still prefer a trade at this point.
Quote from: Frank_fjs on 11/29/2012, 11:28 PMCan't help you out as I only have a JP MS and not a Mark III, but wanted to ask you about this comment:

QuoteAside from saving space...
How does a Mark III and separate FM unit save you space?

The Mark III is damn sexy looking though so I can see why you'd want to switch to it.
The Mark III is actually significantly smaller than the SMS, I've actually seen one with the FM unit in person before and was amazed at just how tiny the thing is. And I also kinda prefer the look of the Mark III so there's that too.

EDIT: Here's some pics:

Went on Yahoo Japan last night and managed to snag three MSX games (Knightmare, Hyper Olympic 2 and Yie-Ar Kung Fu 2) for 1000 yen. I also picked up this interesting MSX controller for 1280 yen, this should look a little familiar...

Now that I've made aware of this thread by tatsujin, I thought I'd chime in here. Anyway, I just got a Duo-R a few days ago after selling my TG-CD setup (which now belongs to Dalder), and wow what a system! I've been playing it a lot since I got it and I think this will be the only PCE/TG-16 system I'll ever have next to my TurboExpress! I gave it a good cleaning too and it looks gorgeous. It's bone stock, but I plan on modding it for RGB as soon as I get one of those SCART to component converters. Here's a pic:

Alright, up for sale is a nice Core Grafx II with 9 games, matching controller and hookups. Everything works great, but the AV cable is slightly intermittent, so I would recommend you get a new AV cable. I can definitely guarantee that the AV port is not the problem, since I used my Duo's AV cable and it worked fine. Both the system and controllers have been cleaned on the outside (although there is some dust in the CG II's crevices), and the games have been cleaned and thoroughly tested.

You get the following games:
*F1 Circus
*Final Lap Twin
*J-League Greatest Eleven
*Jack Nicklaus Golf
*Kore Ga Pro Yakyuu '90
*Momotarou Densetsu Turbo
*Tsuru Teru Hito No Jitsen Siyu Siki Bai
*TV Sports Football
*World Beach Volley

I'd like to get anywhere from $85 to $105, so please don't hesitate to send me offers. PayPal only, please. Anyway, without further ado, here are the pics:
