Excuse me if this is a dumb question, but how does the white tray on the IFU come out? I'm disassembling one in order to clean it out, and I can't seem to get the tray out. I'm assuming it's snapped on but I really don't want to put stress on it and break a latch or two.

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Loosey Hueys
04/03/2014, 03:39 AM
I think I'm starting to get back into an Obey mood lately and I've been wanting to rebuild my HuCard collection for some time. I'm mainly looking for loose ones right now, here's what I'm currently looking for:

Adventure Island
Alien Crush
Bomberman '94
Dragon Spirit
Fantasy Zone
Final Soldier
Galaga '88
Gekisha Boy
Gradius
Image Fight
Makyou Densetsu
Neutopia
PC Genjin
PC Genjin 2
Salamander
Sidearms
Son Son II
Space Harrier
Street Fighter II
Takahashi Meijin no Shin Boukenjima

I'm also willing to trade for mod work, PM me for details on that!

I'm looking to upgrade to an MSX2+ system and I'd like to see what kind of interest I'd get in my boxed FS-A1. It's in really nice working condition, I recently cleaned it out and just today I replaced all the caps. The only flaws with it are that the clamps for the printer port have gone missing, but I doubt anyone would use it with a printer these days. Also, the wires for the real-time clock batteries have been removed so you won't be able to save any BIOS settings (no real loss though). Aside from the box (which is in decent condition) you'll also get the manual, power supply, AV cables and a loose Fantasy Zone cart.

Here's a real doozy that I've recently run into, I just finished modding a Duo-R for S-video and when I went to test it, I got absolutely no video whatsoever, even with composite video using an AV cable. I will admit that I accidentally bridged some pins when I decided to use pins 21 and 22 for 5V, but I was able to fix that problem with a little desoldering braid and there are no other shorts on the HuC6260 or anywhere else.

Is there a possibility that the 6260 suffered heat damage when I used that desoldering braid? I find it somewhat improbable since I didn't leave the braid on for very long and I didn't have my iron on a high temperature.

I recently got sent a TurboDuo to recap, and while I've now completely recapped the console, I'm having a strange problem with the audio. The HuCard and PCM audio work great, but the CD audio is quiet and the headphone volume knob doesn't do anything, it just outputs line level audio. I've done some continuity checks to the associated vias and traces and everything checks out. Is there a possibility that one or more of the op-amps are shot?
#6
I already have a nice Duo-R to play CD stuff but I'm pretty damn tempted to pick up a TG-CD for the region modded TG-16 I picked up recently. What do you guys think is a good price for a refurbed TG-CD? I'm not looking for the carrying case or anything else, just the drive and dock.
#7
So now that I've got my TG-16 working again with the 9-pin mini-DIN I installed, I'm planning on finishing it up soon and adding RGB in addition to composite. I've been looking up info on it and I'm leaning towards this mod as it's simple and I have the transistors needed for it: http://www.mmmonkey.co.uk/pc-engine-rgb-amp/

However, I'll be using it with my Genesis 2 RGB SCART cable which has 75 ohm resistors and 220 uF caps on the RGB lines. Would that cause any problems or do I still need to build a full-blown RGB amp as opposed to the three transistors?
#8
Alrighty, I've got a bunch of stuff for grabs and here's what I've got; prices do not include shipping. All games are loose unless noted. If you want pics, feel free to PM me! I do not accept international offers except from Canada, sorry.

So I got a region modded TG-16 recently and I decided to remove the RF modulator in favor of a mini-DIN jack so I could mod it for RGB and composite. When I first tested it, it worked fine but it turned out I had the video and audio mixed up so it didn't work first try. So then I wired it up correctly and now for whatever reason the 5V and ground are shorted. I've looked at the region switch, caps, voltage regulator and everything else I can think of, and everything looks fine. I can't for the life of me figure out where the hell it's shorted, anyone have any ideas?
#10
I've been thinking about downsizing my setup somewhat and I've become interested in replacing my Japanese SMS with a Mark III plus FM unit. My SMS is in good condition and comes with the box and manual, though I hesitate to call it CIB as it doesn't have the RF switch or original AV cable. I also modded the system with S-video and dedicated composite video and audio jacks.

Aside from saving space, the other main reason why I'm interested in trading all this for a Mark III is because I'd like to tinker with the Mark III and see if I can get component video and amplified RGB out of it. I'd like both the Mark III and FM unit to be in good working condition but I will accept a non-working Mark III (with a working FM unit) plus additional cash. I don't need or want any hookups with the Mark III and I would also prefer the original controllers as I'll be including my SMS controllers with my system.

I've been working on a TurboDuo for someone and I've been having some problems with it. I've already completely recapped it and while the HuCard and PCM audio are fine, the CD audio is very quiet. The disc drive is also acting up pretty bad; original games never load and music CDs skip through tracks as if it's on fast forward. I replaced the laser but it's still having issues.

The disc loading issue might a calibration issue but I'm not entirely sure what's causing the CD audio problem. At first I thought it was some bad traces or vias but the board is fine. Maybe there's a bad op-amp somewhere?
#12
Thought I'd go ahead and clear out the last few things I have for sale after picking up both a Master Everdrive and Turbo Everdrive. Here's what I've got for grabs; all games have been tested and are in good condition.

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Two PCE controllers
05/09/2012, 03:55 PM
Anyone have a couple of spare PCE controllers? I'm going to a meetup with some friends and I need two more controllers so I can get 5-player Bomberman '94 going. It doesn't matter what controllers they are so long as they work.
#14
I'm in the process of fixing/modding a PCE Duo for a customer and when I tested it, it worked fine except that the PCM audio was totally dead. I'm not sure where to start, so I'm wondering what the most common cause of this problem is.
#15
Would anyone be willing to trade a working original PCE Duo or region modded TurboDuo for my RGB-modded Duo-R? The Duo-R is in great shape and uses the Retro Accessories PCE SCART cable, which has the amp built into the cable. I know my Duo-R would be the more valuable console of the two so maybe a few loose HuCards would be nice as well?

I've been curious about getting a Core Grafx to supplement my Duo-R so that I have something I can easily bring over to meetups with my friends. However, all the loose Core Grafx consoles I've seen on eBay are around $50 and I wanted to know what a fair price was since I'm not spending that much on a loose console.
#18
I can't seem to find a good Saturn mod chip for my model 1 Saturn, so I figured I'd see if someone would like to trade their model 2 system for my model 1. I just want the console by itself, and I'd be willing to trade off all my American Saturn games in addition to my model 1 for a nice Japanese model 2.
#19
I recently modded my Duo-R for RGB, and now all I need is a SCART cable so I can actually use it. It needs to follow doujindance's RGB pinout and needs to have the RGB amp installed in the SCART plug, since all I did was wire the RGB lines straight to the DIN jack.
#20
I just got a Duo-R a few days ago after selling my TG-CD setup (which now belongs to Dalder), and wow what a system! I've been playing it a lot since I got it and I think this will be the only PCE/TG-16 system I'll ever have next to my TurboExpress! I gave it a good cleaning too and it looks gorgeous. Who else agrees with me on the Duo-R's awesomeness?
#21
Finally managed to get my hands on a Duo-R today, and since I've been trying to save space lately, I'm mainly interested in picking up some loose HuCards for it. Here's some games I'm thinking of picking up:

Alien Crush
Batman
Be Ball
Bikkuriman World
Bomberman '93
Darius Plus
Detana Twinbee
Dragon Spirit
Dungeon Explorer
Fantasy Zone
Gomola Speed
Gunhed
Image Fight
Legend of Hero Tonma
Makyou Densetsu
Marchen Maze
Mr. Heli
Nectaris
Neutopia
The Ninja Warriors
Out Run
Parodius
PC Genjin
PC Genjin 2

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB: Duo-R
08/31/2010, 03:31 PM
I'm looking for a Duo-R system, preferably RGB-modded, to replace my TG-CD setup. I need with at least one controller and all the hookups, and maybe a few games depending on what they are. I'm also looking for these PC Engine games to replace my US copies:

Alien Crush
Bloody Wolf
Gunhed
Makyou Densetsu
Ninja Spirit
PC Genjin
PC Genjin 2
Sidearms
Space Harrier
#23
Is there anyone in the SF Bay Area who would be interested in a boxed TurboGrafx-CD setup? The Turbo CD comes with the carrying case, AV cables, power supply, modded Avenue Pad 6 controller, and these games:

Aero Blasters (w/manual and jewel case)
Alien Crush (HuCard only)
Blazing Lazers (HuCard only)
Bloody Wolf (HuCard only)
Bonk's Adventure (HuCard only)
Bonk's Revenge (HuCard only)
JJ and Jeff (HuCard only)
Keith Courage (HuCard only)
The Legendary Axe (w/manual and jewel case)
Ninja Spirit (w/manual and jewel case)
Sidearms (w/manual and jewel case)
Space Harrier (HuCard only)

I'm only looking for people in my area; I could ship this but it would be an absolute bitch with the humongous TG-CD box. Normally I wouldn't sell this, but I'm really looking to get an RGB-modded Duo-R at the moment. Also, I don't have a system card for the TG-CD setup, but you can either get an original system card on eBay or you could get a Japanese Super System card and use it with a region converter.

I've been using an Arcade Card Pro with my TG-CD setup, and so I longer have any need for the original system card that came with it. If anyone's interested in a system card 2.0 for their TG-CD, I'll sell mine for about $18 shipped. PM me if you're interested!
#26

Buy/Sell/Trade / Wanted: Arcade Card Pro
09/21/2009, 12:35 AM
Just got a TG-CD setup and I need an Arcade Card Pro to play my Super CD-ROM2 games as well as the Arcade CD-ROM2 games. Does anyone have a loose one for grabs?
#29
I've been interested in acquiring a region modded TG-16+TG-CD setup, and I'd like to offer my region modded PCE Duo as a trade. The Duo is in good working shape without the sound cap issues that plague most Duos, and comes with hookups and a controller. I'd like to have both a region modded TG-16 and TG-CD along with a controller, power supply and a Japanese System 3.0 or Arcade Card Pro card.
#30
Does anyone out there have a 6-button controller for cheap? I'm mainly looking for a Hori Fighting Commander PC, but an Avenue Pad 6 will do as well.
#31
Does anyone have any Japanese Mega Drive games they wanna get rid of? I just modified my model 1 Genesis with the language switch and I'd like to celebrate by getting a whole bunch of MD games. I'm not looking for anything in particular, just so long as they're good and common games. I would prefer to buy a lot as opposed to buying individual games from different people.
#32
Alright, up for sale is a nice Core Grafx II with 9 games, matching controller and hookups. Everything works great, but the AV cable is slightly intermittent, so I would recommend you get a new AV cable. I can definitely guarantee that the AV port is not the problem, since I used my Duo's AV cable and it worked fine. Both the system and controllers have been cleaned on the outside (although there is some dust in the CG II's crevices), and the games have been cleaned and thoroughly tested.

You get the following games:
*F1 Circus
*Final Lap Twin
*J-League Greatest Eleven
*Jack Nicklaus Golf
*Kore Ga Pro Yakyuu '90
*Momotarou Densetsu Turbo
*Tsuru Teru Hito No Jitsen Siyu Siki Bai
*TV Sports Football
*World Beach Volley

I'd like to get anywhere from $85 to $105, so please don't hesitate to send me offers. PayPal only, please. Anyway, without further ado, here are the pics:

How exactly do you keep track of games you want? I've heard you can organize a wishlist there but I have yet to figure it out.
#34
I need jewel cases and manuals for the following PCE games:

*After Burner II
*Bomberman '94
*Final Soldier
*Momotarou Densetsu Turbo
*Ordyne
*Salamander
*Street Fighter II
*Super Star Soldier
*Victory Run

I prefer the sleeves to be included, and the foam block if it's still there. Cracked fronts are OK, since I can easily replace those.
#35
Apparently the Duo was designed by one Shin Azumi: http://www.hitchmylius.co.uk/designer/azumbiog.htm
#36
I kinda posted about this on my other thread in the TG-16 forum, but I figured I'd get a better chance here. Anyway, I'm looking for the jewel case and manual for F1 Circus. It's alright of the front of the jewel case is cracked, since it's easily replaceable.

Well, I just bought a region modded Duo off of D-Lite today! Luckily, it's been thoroughly tested and it won't have any audio issues like a lot of Duos do. Can't wait!

Hey, I'm in the process of getting a region modded PC Engine Duo from D-Lite, and unfortunately that means I can't use my TG-16 controllers and TurboTap with it. Would anyone like to trade these for PC Engine equivalents?
