The next installment of TG-16 Thunderdrome is here!

Today I am pitting the Turbo's mascot against himself to see what game is better.

We can all agree that these two Bonk games are awesome but which one is the BEST?

It's a tough decision for me but I have to go with Bonk's Adventure I just like it a smidge better than Revenge. No real reason why.

A first in a series where we throw down to find out which are the best games for the Turbo.

I hope to run a new question each week.  I have a bunch of ideas to keep this going

Please explain your answer as well.

To kick things off I am pitting two of the best shooters on a system full of shumps.  I often hear that Soldier Blade is the best Turbo HuCard shump for the system and is beloved by many shooter fans.  On the flip side we have Gate of Thunder a flashy, fast paced and awesome game that shows us what the Super CD rom format can do.  It is clear that the makers of the game put a lot off effort and love into it.

So lets get ready to crumble!

I voted for Soldier Blade.  By nature I prefer vertical shooters. I also feel the difficulty is more reasonable in this to GOT.  Catchy chiptunes will always trump redbook in my opinion.  Plus I have a unnatural fetish with the fully powered up blue laser

I know they come on the Gate of Thunder disc but did they ever get their own CD release on their own disc separately?

Yes it's one of *those* threads.  I hope I have been here long enough that you guys understand that I am in it for the love of the Turbo not just some asshole looking for cheap rarez. 

 I am starting to wind down my turbo collection and as such I am looking to finish up the last few games I need.  Yes these are some of the big ones.  I am aware of the value of these items and I do not expect to pay a pittance for them.  I am only looking to avoid rape bay prices but still work something out that is fully fair to both parties.

I am very interested in playing the games as well.  I think we can all agree Soldier Blade is an awesome shump, Hero Tonma a good arcade port and I just love me some Bonk (I even made a custom action figure of him lol)

I would prefer to to get chip and manual but chip only is just fine with me.

I live in the frozen wastelands of Canada (which ironically I'm sweating my ass off right now) and I have paypal.

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Any advantages to the duo over CD set up?]

I have a PCE Duo that I got screwed over on.  It needs a cap change and after I returned it the guy said they did a cap change but it wasn't long until the sound issues came back.  I now how a region modded Turbo with CD set up.  I can play U.S and PCE games as well as using the cheap PCE Super system 3.0 card all in one set up.

I was thinking of sending out the duo to be recapped and probably get a region mod but I have already spent a lot of money on the duo in the first place.  Plus shipping is killer both ways.  Now that I have the CD set up I  was wondering if I should cut my losses and stick with the CD set up rather than keep throwing money into the already expensive duo.

So I ask you is there any advantage to the duo over my current CD set up or should I just cut bait on the duo now?

Hey guys I am looking for one of those region converters so I can play PCE games on my Turbo.  Recently I got a CD set up so I wanted to skip the U.S 3.0 card and use the PCE 3.0 card due to cost (if somebody has a PCE 3.0 card I am looking for that too)

[Console Repair/Mod Center / How do you clean a CD (blazing) laser?]

Hey guys it's me again lol.

I know there is a way to clean the laser in the CD with alcohol or something.  How does one go about actually doing that?

Is this one of those stupidly easy things to do and I look like a idiot for asking?

[Console Repair/Mod Center / Can I use my S-Video modded TG-16 with the CD dock?]

Hey there!

I have my Turbo modded with S-Video and I was wondering if I can run the Turbo CD with the S-Video?  I was going to attach the CD Unit with power supply and then I would skip the A/V and run my S-Video and audio from the headphone jack using a 3.5mm headphone to stereo cable.

My S-Video jack is right next to the headphone jack so I don't think the CD unit would block any of the ports.

Would this work?

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Is there any U.S exculsive Turbo games?]

I thought I herd that there were a few games released in North America that never saw a release on the PCE.  Is this true and if so what are the U.S exclusive games?

[Console Repair/Mod Center / PCE Duo sound is scratchy and distorted unless earphones plugged in]

Hey guys I am having some sound issues with my PCE Duo.

The audio works and the volume is fine it is the "quality" of the audio is the problem.  The music sounds really scratchy and distorted.

It has been recapped a couple of months ago because it had practically no volume even with the T.V volume on 100%.

Here's the interesting thing.  If I plug the ear phones in the sound issues are resolved without putting the earphones in my ears.  The volume is still herd on the T.V at a little lower setting so when I turn the volume up on the T.V up to about 65% I get perfect sound quality from the actual T.V.  When I remove the earphones from the jack the audio problems return.

I have no clue how to fix this.

If anybody can help it would be much appreciated.

[Console Repair/Mod Center / Hu Card Died. How to Fix?]

So I bought as PCE Street Fighter 2 a month or two ago and it has been working great.  I go to play it today only to find it it doesn't work anymore.  I just get a pink/purple screen of death.  Other Hu cards work fine it's just Street Fighter.  I am using an original PCE Duo so it's not a compatibility concern.

I have no clue how to repair a Hu card.

Any tips for me?
