12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

PSP CFW is awesome! i never thought cracking a system open could lead to such fun!

but i cant seem to find a tg16 and tg-cd emu system.

is there one?
#52
i have been looking for the torrent of this show, i have seen 1 and 2 but not 3! where is it?

i need to see what they say
#53
id like to start a thread on the magical dinosaur tour. mainly because i have never seen it ever mentioned on this site at all!

truly it is not a game, and i bought it knowing full well that it was not, but i think it is still a great a experience and a unique curisoty of the turbo library as well as CDroms of that time.

I am not sure how much dialog is in the game, but it feels like it goes on for eternity! each dino has a ton of details and i actually did learn alot about them. and dinosaurs themselves are cool.

the opening and close animations are pretty fun, and feel like some hi budget documentary. when the baby dinosaur falls to its death, that just still makes me laugh!

but you have to wonder why this 'game' of all games was brought over in english? with so many other games that never made it over that were obviously MUCH easier to translate, they chose this one instead. I think this may be the most accomplished and difficult translation the TG CD ever have. Ys cosmic fantasy and the others be damned! This has tons of text and voice over! and while i dont think it is a 'bad' game perse, as enjoyable as it is, i think we would have all traded its translation for just about anything else. i suppose NEC wanted to show off the the TG CD was as good as a PC as a teaching tool or something? thankfully the 3do did that to overkill and we never have to worry about that again haha!

also what is its estimated rarity? since it is not talked about so much here, i assume that the demand for it is low. but alot of low demand games are also pretty scarce and the price stays kind of low because no one wants it.

so what are your thoughts?
#54
than as a long shot try to email the person with the nexy copy on e-pay, and claim its for some archival purposes
#55
i was always hoping WD would put out a box set of cosmic fantasy 1 thru 4 with redone cinemas etc  just like arc the lad collection or lunar 1 and 2

but now no one will ever do it

i can just see the community chest card now

" 1989 (or 90, 91...2007) xmas season, stores are scared to carry any other system because you created a false chip shortage! pass go and collect the market lead while better hardware and software are driven into obscurity"
#57
by far the best place s  http://crazybanana.tk  but it sems to have been abandoned around 2004 but lots and lots o scans
#58
its just an instrumental, but it sucks without any lyrics. especially because they were so funny.

G-E-N H-E-A-D! GENHEAD-OOOOOOOOOO!!!
#59
NO! i just learned the 8 dollar way that super air zong on the VC  does not have the same opening song, which is a shame because so few will get to hear it. it also makes the opening sceme look stupid as stuff flies about with no explanation
#60
the writer calls it a pair of games, but every Ys fan knows its only one! i guess after he buys 'both' he will continue on the inernet hype machine about how FF7 was the best game of all time and ET was the worst, and etc.

but im happy to see i get rated, its on its way!
#61
it got buried somehow. im not mad just waiting on an answer. that song is great and i wonder id thesuuper rare and expensive version has it intact or not.
#62
no one will answer it for me? im curious to know?
#63
well whoever owns what, the bottom line is that for those owners to put it on VC would get them money for almost no work whatsoever, anyone who doesnt see the point in  that, even on a small return, is an idiot. if i owned 15 year old  game  rights and they were collecting dust, then suddenly someone says, let me use this you can make money, by gum id make the money.

the x-factor is how much of that money does it cost to house on the servers and how much does big N keep?  it really wouldnt surprize me  if big N in its old fashioned 1980s NES arrogancy put the cost of all that on the owner of the games. but like they would ever release such figures

and when, if ever big N will ease up on the 3 games a week rule? leaving only 150 or so games a year seems like a lot but spread out over 8 systems, it could take forever to see the one special game we want,. especially considering all the imports, they will never truly run out of games.

im happy that on this forum though , there can be logical discussions about VC's future, and not coming here every monday to endless posts of  wheres  earthbound? etc, X 1000
#64
i havent heard much at all about what will become of WDs games for the wii. it would be a shame for those games to get lost. and translating those old rpgs would be  right up the VCs alley. but when they folded what happened to the rights? does the new gaijinworks company inheirit them? or what?
#65
however  smb2-j  has come out in the USA in different variations, battle load runner never did.

and as a game smb2-j does suck, no innovation and very similar to the first, too much i say. comparing the jump made with smb3  it just looks like nintendo dropped the ball. its still a good challenge but i cant think of any other sequal that looks and plays just like the first game that much.   then again the japanese hate change!

lets just see more  cd games and grated easy translation free imports with the hope of translations down the line
#66
all the way to 6-1

what sucks is if you get extra health and lose a life it resets. sad theres no extra codes besides the continue
#67
505250!!!!!

i did not use the green spring at all, but i did luck out on the slot machine, hitting both 3 coins ,  burgers and bees to clean up, those extra lives and vitality got me up that high

now i can have my al bundy momen

QuoteEven TG haters know that "blast processing" can't even come close to it.  =;  :P

Anyway, he's going to buy GOT.  =D>
i think  blast processing was just a marketing term for when a game shuts off its background scrolling to speed up the foreground without creating any slowdown on screen.

still 2 things thought inconcievable have happened on wii, neo geo and turbo cd,

i am sure sega cd is next, and then what? im hoping for  jaguar!
#70
so whats different between the us and jp games? i only own the jp version.  is the song still n the us verson or changed at all? what else?
#71
i just DLed it today too. I found it strange it included the PCE  menu screen, why not the US version? i guess its the japanese version of the game? when you soft reset it takes you back to it also, is it part of the game code maybe? what does the cd 2.0 load screen look like in japan? never had that unit.

that download took forever 220 blocks! how many megs is that? 50?

the game plays great and NO load times, and no song reset times, which i do miss the quaintness of...  but i cant tell the difference in sound quality.  my turbo never played this game right and music would always stop. despite no scratches.

its like 1993 for me all over again.   now we just need cotton, ys, lords, de2, shadowgate and all the rest.  and i hear the value of my games dropping suddenly
#72
i loved the egm buyers guides!!

i wish i had saved them , do theu still have them? the last one i remember was 96.  id die to see some more scans

a complete online EGM and VG and CE  would be heaven.

gamepro is was and will always be crap
#73
just pm me because i have a couple on your list, but id rather sell to a collector than on ebay
#74
i have a copy of terrafoming i have been thinking of selling off
#75
i find it amusing that this person is trying to sell a system on a board where the most knowledgeable people about that system go to.

its reallymuch smarter to set it up on an ebay store and wait it out, or just let people bid on it as it is

300 is still to much 225 would get someone thinking
#76
and here i used to wish my turbo duo had and RF port because it wasnt until 2006 that i even owned a TV that had the red-white-yellow inputs.

it used to confuse me why consoles in the 90s and later even included these because back then i had no idea what they were for!

maybe someone can mod  system for hdmi next
#77
i am also hoping for an unleashing on the playstation store. but will they ever release more than 5 decent games?
#78
no, nintendo is never going to have  hard drive. ever, ever. they are so ridiculously stubborn when it comes to everything, and cost effectiveness being pretty high up there on the list. they yanked the disk system after it lead to easy copying. they never put out a cd player for about 100 stupid reasons, and were dragged into the optical disk format only after they realized they would be out of business if they didnt. and the game boy took 13 years to get a freaking real light!! fair weather fans of the big N keep touting how innovative they have become. it might be true in part with the wii sensors, etc. but now that they are cranking out money, dont expect to see anything that halts that money. even if VC piracy was zero the production costs alone would keep them from it. and of course it would be cracked in about 3 days and then its a VC free for all!

anyone who thinks a hard drive is in the works is dreaming!! period! nintendo's track history will tell you they like to do it their own way, even if everyone else thinks its stupid, they don't care. now that they are cruising in the #1 spot in many countries expect it to get worse! at least when they were getting whooped on by sony, they had to concede to somethings just to stay in the game.

but with things like hard to use friend codes, transferring from SD and back, garbage VC games (though not all) constant delays and official statements saying that most of our favorite series wont see new games for a while, if ever, just add proof to nintendo's rekindled blind arrogance. of course i think they have had it all along but when the playstation brand dominates everything its hard to notice.

nintendo has us all by the balls and they know it. they make awesome games like mario  and metroid that we have to have, so we buy their system and then get caught up in all their BS of 2 year delays and stern lectures about why they choose certain formats or why certain games never have sequels or why games announced for N64 are still not here and on and on. i was glad when sony nearly put them under. if they had made the PSP in 1999 they could have buried the gameboy too. i was hoping that being trapped in last place would have woke them up, i think it did, but only by half.

now i have a wii and i think nintendo will still put out solid games for it, but their god awful chip on their shoulder sometimes makes me want to chuck it in the garbage. because they sit on a mountain of great games and ideas they could put out, we buy into it hoping that they do and they never end up doing it [-( [-( [-(

it would be great to see 3 mario galaxies 3 zeldas and a couple other series revived along with a ton of cool peripherals and every game has an online mode where you can game on with anyone you want and they translate VC games.

instead brace yourself for nintendogs 5 brain age 11 and mario party 24, and no  hard drive
#79
everyone is talking about the compression etc. but no one mentioned something  else important, NO MORE LOAD TIMES!  wow its going to be great to not wait 15 seconds or more to switch  cutscenes or stages. though i will miss the little 'rrrr' when switching up music tracks.
#80
how about that 23 dvd set of every sega saturn game for 36 pounds.  now thats just straight up ghetto bootlegging.

ya, VC games do cost more, but if im going to spend money. its not so much about givingmoney to whoever, but i really could never see myself giving money to some pirate ho was able to slap a label on some cd and put it on ebay. i freaking hate people like that.  ts just like every retard arrogant  jocko-frat i used to know in college who would berate me for buying carts of games when 'dude you can just get 5600 romzzz off  napster, its sweet'

so though the VC may be high sometimes, id love to see every single bootlegger shut down and thrown in jail and never heard from again.
#81
the whole marketing scheme of  'megs'  from back then makes me forget that those games are actually on the small side compared to ordinary computer files we use everyday now.

it certainly is an exciting prospect.  when the neogeo games finally hit, we can see if they  compressed it all up and see how many blocks it takes, and the tg cd games would follow suit.

with the way hudson is cranking out every chip game almost, at a record pace compared to nintendo's VC releases, it seems like we will get to see most of the 40 or do us cd games. but it would never be complete and perfect without the few 3rd party games it had. meaning all the working designs games as well as beyond shadowgate.

until then i have almost all the cdrom games, anybody want to buy them from me?

i could go the xbox route except that id prefer to do as little modding as possible to get things working, plus modding the xbox will disable all the fun online stuff it has to offer.

plus i dont know anyone who is feeling and will dump off the boxo for 50

i dont know where to find them. all i have seen is youtube clips

like this
but since its linux, i ssume anything exisiting already can be ported over, or just tweaked? i never learned anything about that stuff! but it woul be sweet to run cd roms  from the disc or ripping the disc to the HD

General Gaming / emu on PS3?
09/03/2007, 04:11 AM
So some NES emu's are popping up for the PS3 already. it sounds like it could be a dream come true for many emu enthusiasts. as sony is being pretty hands off with the use of linux and endless space in the HD.

so naturally the big question is, will  we ever see magic engine, or any other emulator pop up for ps3? either ported or from scratch? im really interested to see what could happen. as the wii is great and all with its tg16 offereings but without and CD games, it will never be prefect. it would be great to  keep all my games on the HD and keep the originals packed away safely.

General Gaming / final fantasy xi
08/26/2007, 08:58 AM
so i found out my brother got a ps 2, and i will soon be getting a ps 3

would it e possible to get a copy of final fantasy xi, use he hard drive on his  ps 2 and the disc on my ps 3 and not buy 2 copies of the game?
#88
since most games all under the 500 meg limit, there could be many many PCE games on xbl.  if some of those cd games came to the US id buy one instantly. if xbl started puting them out en masse like it is with the wii, then  game on!
#89
it looks great. but with only 19 games left it just is just a shame it did not get an overhaul until now
#90
FF 13 is the only thing that has me wanting a PS3. of course that is a year or 2 after its release and i can find i for 20 bucks and a used  system for whatever it will be in 2009 or 2010.

but if FF 13 goes multi platform, i will likely never buy a PS3 as everything else is multi platform or not even on the PS3.  but the change from FF 6 to FF 7 was something extraordinary, what will make FF13 different? if anything FF 11 was he most innovative change in 7. not that 8 9 10 and 12 were bad, but much like 1-6 they are similar styled games with  only incremental differences.

the wii has stolen  the idea of what 'innovative' is. games are going from 3-d on screen to 3-d in real life with controller movements.

even if you disagree with that, they at least own the buzz word to it for the time being, and i dont know what the PS 3 can do to get that back.   but i dont see it coming soon

Buy/Sell/Trade / Re: Is this a joke?

whats worse is he puts all the games on his kitchen floor! does he not own a table???
#92
but a majority of games were 3.0 after that card came out. even after the arcade card , not many games were made compared to the 3.0 so it would have been good business to sell that card  seperatly, but the arcade card in america, i am not so sure
#93
its a mystery for the ages and  even when it happened not to long ago. i guess the puzzle will never truly be solved.

i say the arcade card  would have HAD to be a near free giveaway if these games had a shot of any sales at all. i have never even SEEN a usa 3.0 card before  the arcade card would have been even harder to get im sure if it wasnt shipped with a game.

what a great year 1994 COULD have been
#94
this is also what i heard about CF 3, that it was finished, but that the turbo market was over and could not turn a profit. and that  now telnet is long gone and cant be released anyways today
#95
they mentioned cosmic fantasy 3!  the day i got the working designs newsletter that the turbo was a goner in their eyes and that CF3 in english was never going to be was seriously the end of my childhood, it was so devestating to me! i still get broken up  inside about it
#96
well so much for that! what sucks is the guy offered to sell them to me outside of ebay. accepted my offer of 125 but then said no...
#97
at least the deer are in compliance with the sign
#98
i just cant jinx it is all, next week ill breathe and can celebrate. i hope

gettng back to the discussion of what makes an RPG i always considered RPGs as any game where the character is customaizeable and the characters can choose different choices and that determines the outcome of the game.

of course that was what  i adopted in about 1989.

now games are alot different.  if anything grand theft auto 3 and zelda twilight princess are equal amounts RPG as they play out in the same way.  but now games are so big and customizeable that defintion cant work anymore
