Could I have taken any longer to get this done? Man, I need to pick up the pace. Anyway I finally got off my ass and finished up the first batch of DUO card doors. They are about as close fit and finish as I could possible hope and they should look better than the missing one that is currently on your DUO. I have FIVE, count 'em, FIVE finished ones and five more that are being dyed as we speak? I can make as many as people want and if this first batch sells well I will stock them for the foreseeable future. How much are they? Welllllll, they are $19.75 plus shipping. How much is shipping? Welllll, it is $5.25 in the US and who know elsewhere. Pics or it did not happen:

I want one. I need one. I'll take one.
Money on its way.
Awesome work!
ill take one
Also, I will do special requests. If you want a unique message on the lid, the zig-zag omitted, or something else just let me know. As long as it's not something crazy it will only be a few bucks more but there will be about a three week lead time to get it printed.
PM sent! My naked Duo will be so happy!
Pm sent. I really am looking forward to this.
Really cool, thanks for all your hard work on this jello. My duo is OK for now, but I know where to go if I ever need a replacement :).
Just received two in the mail. They look great. Not quite as nice as the originals but definitely a pretty close match. I'm am pleased.

Lets see some pics! I want feedback on fits and finish so I can make them better!
Oh man, I coudl really do with one for my loose Duo but I fear the postage cos to the Uk will be far too much to make it worth doing. :x

I can send it first class rather than priority mail and it would be much, much cheaper; it would just take longer to get there. I'll get a price quote and send you a PM.
I'll post some pics when I get home from work later tonight. the color matches up perfect on most duo but some not quite so much do to the body color darkening over time.
So systems that still have good color will match up nicely.
I did notice that that back end of the cover that is nearest the center of the duo touches a little more than the originals when openeing and closing but it's really not that big of a deal.

The color match is something that I knew that would never be perfect simply because of the age of these systems. I did try and get it as close as I could though. Take a pick of the area you feel like it too close. I can use that info to modify the model for the next batch.
Once you do black ones I will take one!
Count me in for one the next time around. add me to "the list" :D
Made topic sticky.
Thanks!
Got my door today.
Perfect fit.
Perfect colour.
Perfect look.
Great work!
I got mine today. Thank you so much. I have wanted this for about 2 years. Here are some pictures with it. The match is great.

It can all be yours for $25
Could these be made transparent?
Quote from: SmokeMonster on 03/17/2015, 07:31 AMCould these be made transparent?
They can be made "clearish" I can print it in "frosted ultra detail" and then it could be polished to get a more transparent finish. It would cost more for that though. I do know that there are printers that can print optically clear plastic but I don't know of any printing services that offer it right now or even how much something like that would cost. I will look into it though.
I can print it in optically clear plastic for $120.
Got 1 for myself, and ordered another for my friend who needs one. Shipped fast, and they look amazing!

Ooh, very nice, very nice.
Ill take one for my Black Turbo Duo please. I am new to this forum so am not sure how to make payment towards one of these. Thanks.
Just picked up a PC Engine Duo and need, not want, NEED one! I can't believe how good they look!
I have another batch ready to go!

Door madness!
I really like that pic. Somewhere out there is a Duo like that but with a harem of original doors.
wow! awesome work on the covers. :)
Hey this is awesome!
I'd love to get a DUO-R door if they become available.
Hmm. Just had a thought. Would replacement briefcase hinges be possible?

Are they a removable part?
Wow, these look great! Any plans to make these for the Duo-R/RX? Recently picked a Duo-R up with a missing door.

I have that door just about finished. I just need to get off my butt and get it done.
that is great to hear! any chance I could get a PM from you once they are ready to go?
I have another batch of DUO doors ready! Send me a PM if you are interested.
did I miss the PCE Duo-R doors? or are those not being made yet?
Quote from: jelloslug on 05/16/2015, 12:49 PMI have another batch ready to go!
I'm way way late, but are these still available? PM sent :)
i'm interested in one of the black ones too, if available.
Hi, my Duo's door broke and I'd like to get a repro. I sent you a PM; lemme know if these are still available.
Just ordered one for my Duo and another for my Duo-R. Such an awesome offering, thanks jelloslug! :D
If I may inquire... given the ubiquity of 3D printers these days, especially in public libraries and maker spaces, why is the price so high for these particular reproductions?
Just a guess, but I assume it's because the print resolution is better and/or better finished (no print lines), more accurate for a good fit, and has been dyed for a color match.
That may indeed be a good guess. It would be awesome to know for sure.
PMd OP about ordering a replacement hucard slot door/lid
Everything is currently in stock, send me a PM if you need one.
The doors are excellent. Considering how old these consoles are, I don't know how jelloslug was able to match the colors to perfectly, but they're exact.

I forgot to grab a picture of they grey door installed while I was back home, but it's exact too.
This is incredible! Any plans of doing PC-FX front plate covers? Seems like you'd have some takers, as they aren't available anywhere!
About pricing, a wild guess of mine, aside from what NecroPhile has yet mentioned, I'd also factor in raw material, size of the print and printing time.
Browsing Shapeways for 3D printed products gives a good feeling for pricing.
I just received my replacement door in the mail!
