O.G. GBA - funny story on this one.  I was vacationing in Japan when it was released. Picked one up that day. This unit is now used by my daughter and son (if she lets him.) Nintendo made the GBA sturdy as hell. Awesome toy overall.
I remember some site did an endurance test on the OG GBA, they put one in a toilet and flushed it, after a day to dry the system till worked (though the game in the cart slot died).
That and Bartre story solidifies it. Nintendo really knows how to make solid toys. I've heard the GC is really sturdy as well.

"Hurts" isn't really the right word. But when I stop playing, it takes a minute before I see colors correctly again. Everything looks washed out from staring at nothing but red.

Nope!  If I had to have either the 64DD or the Gizmondo...  I'd take the Gizmondo!

In other news:

Just found this Sega Saturn variation for the cheapest I ever saw it for sale, had to pick it up.

Exactly.  I don't devote enough time to play the games I have, so having dozens of different consoles would mean I'd have a lot of dust catchers.

Quote from: Deletion on 07/27/2012, 12:57 AMSega's SG-1000 was the competitor to Nintendo's Famicom. It was then updated, restyled and renamed the SG-1000 II. It received further updates, more tweaks to its appearance and was dubbed the Mark III.
That's a little misleading.

SG-1000 was Sega's first console and is basically a Collecovision. Different models have names like SG-3000 and Mark II, but they're all variants of this single generation of console.

The "Sega Mark III" is an entirely new generation of console. It is the Japanese version of the Sega Master System brand. The name sounds like another revision of the SG-1000, but it's not. Further adding to the confusion for gaijins is that the ultimate revision of the Sega Mark III is title the "Sega Master System" and its shell and box looks like the Western SMS. It has the FM Sound, 3D glasses port and rapid fire built-in.

All Sega Mark III systems are backwards compatible with SG-1000 games, which use the same style carts and cards.
Justin the Not-So-Cheery Black/Hack/CrackTiger helped Joshua Jackass, Andrew/Arkhan Dildovich and the DildoPhiles destroy 2 PC Engine groups: one by Aaron Lambert on Facebook, then the other by Aaron Nanto!!! Him and PCE Aarons don't have a good track record together! Both times he blamed the Aarons and their staff in a "Look-what-you-made-us-do?!" manner, never himself nor his deranged/destructive/doxxing toxic turbo troll gang which he covers up for under the "community" euphemism!

Deletion

I thought the SG-1000 was more advanced than the Atari/ColecoVision/Intellivision era. The progression of Sega's early consoles makes more sense now. Thanks for the insight.
