QuoteYs: Book I & II bound for the virtual console in North AmericaLast month, Hudson released Ys: Book I & II on the Japanese Virtual Console. For 800 Wii Points ($8) you get two Ys games, which is a bargain. Hudson has not confirmed the Turbo Grafx-16 CD game for North America, but the ESRB gave it an "E" rating. I would say chances are good we're getting it in the future.
I spent some with the re-release and the games feel antiquated. But seeing Adol body slam enemies instead of using his sword brings back good memories. If you have the patience for old school action RPGs this package is for you and it's a good deal considering $8 is substantially cheaper than the price of the individually sold DS remakes.
Quote from: nat on 05/28/2007, 09:00 PMDefinitely not my best, but I had a camera handy the other day and thought of this thread....Ha ha, they misspelled Pac-Man in their own game.

He's just referred to as "Dalk" in the Falcom Classics (Saturn) game manuals.
Naw, Xanadu is Dragon Slayer 2. The "Dragon Slayer 2" you're talking about is Dragon Slayer 6 part 2.
The Legend of Xanadu is Dragon Slayer 8, whereas The Legend of Xanadu 2 is Dragon Slayer 8 part 2.
Meh, let's make the obligatory list for this to make any sense whatsoever...
Dragon Slayer 1
Dragon Slayer 2: Xanadu
Dragon Slayer 3: Romancia (aka Dragon Slayer Jr.)
Dragon Slayer 4: Draslefamily
Dragon Slayer 5: Sorcerian (there are like a million different Sorcerian scenarios for Japanese computers)
Dragon Slayer 6: The Legend of Heroes
Dragon Slayer 6 pt 2: The Legend of Heroes 2
Dragon Slayer 7: Lord Monarch
Dragon Slayer 8: The Legend of Xanadu
Dragon Slayer 8 pt 2: The Legend of Xanadu 2
(+ Dragon Slayer Gaiden for Game Boy)
Note! The Legend of Heroes 3 and up is not part of the DS series, neither is Faxanadu, Xanadu Next or any other game that's related to either of the games in that list. Only those mentioned are part of the DS series.
Quote from: Joe Redifer on 01/24/2007, 01:02 AMThat's another thing that was great about the Master System... you couldn't play 2600 games on it.I love that argument! Even the NES could play 2600 games.
Quote from: "Dementia"Because I love you guys, I went and pestered Mr. Greiner for you this morning! The Turbo Grafx was never officially released in Europe. It was however, given distribution as a "gray market" item through the Guillemot brothers (now owners of Ubisoft). The sold around 50,000 units and it made them a lot of money. They basically took the PC Engine and put PAL conversion units onto them and enabled them to play US games.
As stated, the Turbo Grafx was a gray market item, therefore there was no advertising, official Hudson marketing, or other aspects involved in the process - though we gave Guillemot a lot of support. NEC handled the distribution of games in Europe which were basically the American titles you all know and love. The system could be found on store shelves throughout Europe and received a lot of press coverage as well from the various magazines there.
Hope this helps!
Quote from: Ninja SpiritOh Seldane also gets mad props on the Famicom Ys 2. I thought I was the only non Japanese person who has a actual copy of it. I'm like stuck in Solomon Pass(?).Got the others too (I and III), I just took one of 'em for reference.

THE MEGADRIVE VERSION IS A PIXEL-FOR-PIXEL COPY"
Quote from: NightWolveYeah, same here. XP Pro with latest SP2 also. Auto-update feature is always on, so I keep it up-to-date.Very odd. That's a common problem with Game Maker programs (when you make mistakes), but it works for everybody else but you. Which is strange, since that is a program error and shouldn't work for anybody.

Quote from: stevek666AlexKidd: I never saw a Genesis (first model) used with the side-by-side SegaCD... what's that like ? Does the Genny console stay in place ? Just curious...Well, it appears that he's missing this part:
