Hi folks - i got two extra goodies looking for new homes. 

1) Sega Nomad boxed with games.

Trade-wise:  i am looking for CIB with spine :  pc engine madou monogatari (would do straight up)
or Double Dragon 2 pc engine CIB with spine + some cash for it.

2) Nintendo Famicom Cassette Data recorder - rarity from Japan early days - this uses cassettes to record your BASIC programs as part of the programming add on set.  I have the complete data cassette kit, with original cables, data tape and player/recorder + original manual.  Just missing the box.  The player can also be used with normal audio cassette tapes, if you want to play those old music in the garage    $120 shipped from JP

Trade-wise:  i am looking for CIB with spine : Double Dragon 2 pc engine CIB with spine or Sega MegaDrive Double Dragon 2 or Lunar CDs English versions complete

Sega Nomad -  It comes with the complete original box, and original plastic bags for the system.  It also comes with the original battery pack, which attaches nicely on the back of the system for portable play. 

I tested the system and verified all the battery pack connectors works perfectly, with no corrosion, which is a common problem with many of these systems being sold on Ebay.  I am a collector, and confirm this system being sold is in excellent condition.

The screen brightness, volume adjustors all work perfectly.  Included are two free games as well (packed together in the box) - Sonic , and a cool Wreck-it Ralph homebrew game. 

(note this includes the box only.  inside foams, instructions are not available.

I was not aware of this until I saw this posting recently.  seemed like a homebrew project yet somehow made it onto the bootleg scene?  the production copies look amazing.  what's interesting is the price gauging that's going on on yahoo japan on this.. similar to the space fantasy zones as well...

Ive recently come across 2 interesting promo pce items and decided to start this thread to see what other obscure mook/promos you all know of.

I found 2 recently:

1) street fighter 2 CE pce-  Chun Li Fanbook.  I did some research and a site said this was only included in the 1st print run of SF2 hueys.  I dont have it in my huey case.  It looks like a small huey manual but has chun li worshipping/obey - any of you know this?



2) record of lodoss war - fukuban mook with supercd? 
- i am aware of the mook promo like the far east edens, seiya monogatari, emerald dragon, and xanadu ones.  The lodoss war is supposed to be like that.  But this one is different.  As its fukuban im wondering if its lije a besthits rerun simular to the sega master system blue label carts?  My research led no where, tho i found an old post by TAts who also found and own this.




Question is how rare are both of these ??

Hi everyone - ever since I moved to Singapore this January, it's been non-stop work and I haven't had much time to visit the US anymore on business trips.
Well, life keeps on getting faster - I got a son on the way soon, and I've cleaned out some duplicate SEGA MEGA DRIVE System + games + accessories which I am selling or trading.
For those who don't know, Mega Drive = JP version of Sega Genesis.   I have a confirmed business trip during October, so I figure it helps to get these listed on the board starting now.

I can't split these up due to lack of time.  Not really trying to milk the $, I used some very low estimates for the set - $70 takes all shipped anywhere in the US, or make me an offer via PM.
I will also do trades.  ALL ITEMS will ship on Saturday, October 8th!

*TurboGrafx 16 system, comes with the rear cover adapter, the RF original adapter, and one original TG pad.
*TurboGrafx 16 CD base interface unit, comes with the AC adapter.  (CD drive not included).  I use this to get the a/V composite output.  Everything works great.
* TG 16 CD carrying case - the hinges are broken, but case is fully intact and not cracked.  I still use it to house the units + games.
* 2 Original documentations (All nice, minty sexy condition, as pictured - the TG TurboGear Flier and some Game ads.

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Unknown game variation: !! Limited Edition Sol Moonarage ?!!?]

Ok, I'm freaking out a bit here.  I had bought a Sol Moonarge at a local Tokyo store months back, and recently resold it as a bundle since I bought another large collection that included a new copy of the game. 

I was not paying attention but it occurred to me the version I sold looks very different on the outside.  In fact the Sping card is GOLDEN, and the back of the jewel case showed "limited edition".  The new one I have looks normal, and the spine card is green.







I checked PCE Daisakusen and it looks like we do not have this variation catalogued.

Tats - are you aware of the 2 versions differences in your own collection?

I'm little bit bummed that I wasn't aware of the variations before deciding to bundle up my duplicate and reselling it a few weeks ago... If this turns out to be a super limited version with like 2000 only made... well then I'll shit in my pants...

The bundle is listed with 14 games, including 6 button avenue pad mint in box, SF2, TwinBee, Kyoku Tiger, etc.
Box is a bit sunfaded, but system is prestine, with all originals matching serials, foams, to manual and outer box. 

If you are a collector needing the whole set, this might interest you.

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / PC Engine vs. TurboGrafx? Which is better?]

This is definitely an interesting phenomenom I've observed over my gaming career, which started with the Famicom back in 1984...
I moved to the States during 1990 and I bought a TG-16, fully knowing its the US version of the PCE.  Knowing PCE's awesome selection of games, I actually dreaded seeing the TG-16 get its rear handed to it on a plate by SEGA Genesis... it pained me as a TG-16 owner... Later on I bought the TG-16 CD unit and started getting into import games, which made life better as I was able to show off Gate of Thunder to my friends in school about 1 year before they brought the Duo over to the States 

I sold off all my TG-16 stuff in 1997/1998ish, and recall during then the US counterparts of TG-16 stuff was worth very little on the secondary market.  This seemed to make sense given the Hucards NEC Americas chose to bring over were really crap (Yo Bro!  ?  Timeball?  Sonic Spike Volleyball?  etc..)   

Well I got back into PC Engine gaming recently and started buying up stuff in Japan during business trips there.  I am blown away on how well designed the original CD-Interface unit is, how compact and awesome it is given it came out in 1988!  Then a question hit me... what has happened the last 10 years+ that suddenly made US-version of TG-16 / Duo hardware so much more desirable?

I notice the US version hardwares; i.e. TG-16 units, and Turbo Duo, command much more prices these days on Ebay...  But why?  Very few US-exclusive Hucards are good ... Magical Chase is the one that comes to mind with special pluses over PCE versions.  Also sure, you can play good games in English like Cadash and Dungeon Explorer, but the US-CD rom games are compatible with JP hardware, so why would people shell out more for TurboDuos?  I saw some dude's TurboDuo set go for over $700 on Ebay that just doesn't register 

So,  what do you guys think?  JP Hardware with access to its Hucards librarray plus all CD games or US hardware with access to US Hucarrds and all CD-roms?    I go for the JP versions...

Howdy folks..

my vacaction this week in Japan has taken me to middle of no where to a super rural village town... I stopped by some old electronics shop here after lunch and they have the following rare goodies for sale. 

In case some of the fellas here are after these things, let me know.. Im only here 2 more days so please hurry if you are series with PM & payment.  Not really interested in reselling these given the trouble but I:m willing to buy these and trade for some PCE games I want if some of you are interested.  of course you can also send some price offers to reflect for shipping inclusion if you dont got anything and i:ll consider the trouble.  im doing nothin the next few days just destressing here so drop me a line.

a)* Sharp Famicon (NES) licensed duo-cartidge and floppy disk system (floppy doesnt work), no AC/AV cables.. average condition but I know this one is one rare goodie.  If you know how to fix the belt in the floppy drive, might be def worth it.  (selling for 6000 yen)

b)* Nintendo official Famicon Disk drive system, complete with AC adapter, RAM cart, really nice condition and works with floppy!   (I really debated to buy this for myself or not but my wife canned the debate... I hope somebody doesnt wipe this..  (selling for 5000 yen)

c)* Rare Gameboy Printer - Japan-limited release only Yellow Pikachu edition with 1 box of printer seal roll paper (white).. this one looks very cool and in good condition too.  (selling for 3000 yen)

d)* Nice mint condition, boxed in origianls Super NES/Famicon Chrono Trigger game (JP version_)  (2500 yen)
