I got one of those Mirai converters off eBay a couple of years ago for $53.00. It worked good, but since buying a Super Grafx its now only useful if I want to use my Arcade Card or Tennokoe Memory Bank on my Turbo Grafx or play PC Engine games on my Turbo Express.

I don't tell people that I'm a gamer unless they ask. And in that case I wouldn't have any problem admitting it since its nothing to be ashamed of.

I go for games complete with the manual and jewel case. The box isn't really important, since I'll just put it away with all the other game boxes I've accumulated over the years. But for the later Turbo games, I've for the most part settled with just the Hucard, since tracking down complete copies would be too much of a hassle for me.

In the X-1's defense, it does appear to have a least one good game for it: Kagirinaki Tatakai.

Those look awesome guy! I may consider buying a set myself.

Since most of my 92/93 TurboGrafx games are just loose hucards(except Hit the Ice, Time cruise, Legend of Hero Tonma and Dead moon), I like the idea of getting reprinted replacement manuals.

I was kinda wondering where you went. It's nice to see that you're back.

I own a TurboGrafx 16 with the CD attachment, a Turbo Express, a PC-FX and a SuperGrafx. I'm keeping an eye out for a Super CD-ROM drive as well.

For me it was a choice between Gate of Thunder and Lords of Thunder. I ended up giving the nod to Gate. It does have the arcade feel after all. 8)

I played a bit of Ys I&II today for the first time in a while. I hope to finish it soon.
#13
Nice! Must be your lucky day! :)
#14
I went with Ys I & II, with honourable mentions going to Ys III, Monster Lair, Buster Bros. and Cosmic Fantasy 2.

Shouldn't Exile be on the poll too?

Quite a few overall. Though lately I've been focusing on my Neo Geo CD. It's been a very easy and fun system to collect games for.

I can vouch for Japan-Games. I got a PC-FX from him recently and I'm happy with it. It even came with a FX-BMP in the front expansion slot, though I'm not sure if the seller was aware of that!

Quote from: rainbow_bright on 03/08/2008, 01:14 PMSplatterhouse is on ebay right now (its over 100 pounds/200 dollars!!). Straight from Japan..

How much did you pick up the system for?
I paid about $48 CDN for it, plus shipping. It didn't have a belt for the floppy drive, but I have since found a replacement.

General Gaming / Re: psp custom firmware

Custom firmware has always intrigued me. I've even thought about buying one of those new slim PSP models and then using my old one for it.

I've got one, along with the games Turbo Outrun and Genocide Square(and soon Image Fight.) Some day I hope to acquire Splatterhouse and Tatsujin Oh as well, assuming I can find them for a remotely reasonable price.
#20
I'm going with Lords of Thunder, with Bonk 3 as the runner up.
#21
I keep them all complete in their jewel cases. Except for several later TurboGrafx 16 games that unfortunately didn't come with a case.
#22
I voted for Boxy Boy. I've had a fair amount of fun with that game. Still got to add it to my collection.

Quote from: ceti alpha on 02/28/2008, 09:02 PMNice. How do you like the SG games?
Right now I'd have to say that Aldynes is my favourite, followed by Granzort and Battle Ace. Now I just need to track down 1941, Ghouls 'N Ghosts and Darius Plus to complete my SuperGrafx game collection.
#24
Today my SuperGrafx showed up and I played the three games I got with it: Aldynes, Battle Ace and Granzort. I also tried out all my PC Engine games with it as well. It's a neat machine, and a much nicer alternative to my Hucard converter. :)

Ha, another Calgary PCE fan.

It's shocking to find someone that lives in Calgary is actually born in Calgary.  Every time the riders come in, it's Saskatchewan home game!
Yeah, there's no shortage of transplants in this city. I see Saskatchewan license plates all the time.

I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and currently reside in the southeast quadrant of the city. I'm an anime fan and possess a large collection of video games and systems. Regarding NEC hardware, I first bought a TurboExpress at a nearby Cash Converters in late 2004. In September 2006 I got a TurboGrafx 16/CD system off eBay. I would then go on to buy a PC-FX in November 2007 and am now awaiting the delivery of a SuperGrafx. Anyway, Welcome to the forum, one n00b to another! :)

I own one, along with the CD attachment. I wouldn't mind seeing more CD based homebrew titles since the cartridge ones tend to go for a lot of money. That, and the CD library is kind of small to begin with.
#28
I voted for Victory Run. It's the only game I own of the five.
#29
Impressive work! I need to pick this game up soon.

The sequel TRON mentioned is also awesome on the IIGS. You got a real one or playing via emulation?

I love my Apple IIGS. It's my second electronic love, after consoles.
Yeah I got a real one. I don't have many games for it though. Hopefully when my USB to serial adapter shows up in the mail I can use ADT Pro and transfer some disk images over.

It's crazy that it took that long to be delivered. I bought a Neo Geo CDZ from hit-japan back on December 18 and I received it January 2. Anyway, congratulations!
