He at the time of this video was riding for Tony Hawk's company called Birdhouse. He also worked for TTI. I had him sign my copy of Lords Of Thunder and thought I was crazy for having him sign it. Lol I laughed and told him whatever dude just sign the damn thing !! I see him ever so often and if anyone would like some more info on this I could gladly bug him a bit more about it.

Pretty happy as I just this past weekend finally locked down getting a US Pioneer LaserActive, it's fully restored, new band alignment and most importantly both PCE and Genesis PAC's are fully re capped. She's running great and I'm totally enjoying my LaserActive PCE experience !! Lol now what ?? The damn thing as most of you already know only displays in Composite video !! I play it on my Sony PVM 2950Q so it looks decent enough but unfortunately I have far evolved into a total image quality snob !! Maybe I should just toss this old fat bulky girl off of my balcony to her death and just call it a rap for now !! loL hahaha !! Fuck it i guess I'll just keep her on the sidelines like a fat chick that gives the best BJ's but you'll be damned if you ever let your close friends see you enjoying some quality time with her !!

Lol And you know this man !! You've got the eagles eye for spotting out the your ol girl !! She's been fully overhauled since I got her from you a few years back. Replaced the old laser, RGB 5volt amp added, new mod chip installed, and I added a green LED light to the power switch and I also replaced the standard red LED on the CD reading light with a 4 color cycling LED. Loving every minute of owning her !! Thanks once again !!

Just thought I'd share this little project that I'm working on. I pad hacked 2 PC Engine controllers, wired them up to my Neo Geo 50's control panel and I'm using a RGB Scart to Component converter to display the image on my 42" LCD monitor. Just like that I'm able to play my Duo-R off of the Neo 50's control panel. My plan is to buy another XRGB as I got rid of my old one to interface it with my 42" LCD screen and be able to emulate scanlines on it for a much more authentic look. And I also will be ordering a Jamma fingerboard to solder my pad hacked controllers to and be able to connect it directly to my Neo 50's Jamma edge connector. I love playing my Duo-R on my Sony BVM's but their is something about playing it off of a Candy cab that makes it feel that much better !! Here is a pic of it as is so far. What do you guys think of my idea ??

My first all nighter was at age 12 in September of 1992 the game I played all night was Mortal Kombat for the Sega Genesis with my older brother Luis. He had bought the game to play it at his girlfriends house and one night he brought it home randomly to have me play it with him. I had a Game Pro magazine that had the fatality's blood code. It was really fun playing it at first but after beating his ass at it multiple times he got pissed off and would not let me stop playing him until he honestly defeated him. We played from 11pm to around 5am the following day. This may I ad was on a school night to top it off, as tired as I was he would bully me and threaten to never bring the game home again if I didn't keep playing him. A memory to this day that I bring up to him during family gatherings. Lol I love my brother as he was always into hardcore gaming when I was a kid but unfortunately he was an even bigger dickhead that would always have the last say in any matter while gaming. I can honestly sit back laugh and smile typing up this old memory as it was truly an epic all nighter being able to play the controversial Mortal Kombat with my brother Luis !!

I just recently scored on my very first US Turbo Duo in non working order. The previous owner told me it was already experiencing audio issues as a result of the old bad capacitors still being in the system. Besides that it work just fine. He that said he stored it away for a month or so and just recently when he decided to power it on to play some Bonks Adventure it did not work anymore. He passed it on as a gift to me with the agreement that I would do my absolute very best to get back up and running.

Here is what I have tried out so far. With my multimeter I tested out the AC adapter jack and it's receiving the 9 volts that the AC outputs. I tested out where the power cable connects from the AC power board to the motherboard and that checks out fine. I tested out what looks like a black fuse or something and that's passing the 9 volts. I tested out the fuse which physically looks fine and that dose not show a reading on my multimeter. I also tested out both of the 5 volt 7805 voltage regulators and they also do not show any readings on my multimeter. Not sure where to go from here. Should I replace the fuse that dose not look blown out or should I replace both of the 5 volt 7805 voltage regulators ?? Once I get her powered on the next thing will be recapping the motherboard.

lately I've been hunting down Sony PVM monitors. These are the ones I've obtained over the past 2 months. Three 2950Q's three 20M4U's and and last but not least a BVM D20F1U .. These have all came in very handy lately for the retro gaming meet ups that I host at my place.

These are the versions of WonderBoy I've got in my collection so far. My favorite of the 3 is the TG16 version for obvious superior reasons all around. And it's the only one that I have beaten so far. I'm still working on trying to beat the NES version but it's so freaking hard ! Gonna definitely have to try out the rest of the series that you guy's posted up on here.

Well I opened her up and figured out the problem I was having. In the pic you will notice a separation on of the white connecters. The board seems to be warped a bit possibly because when I push down on the board to make the white connecter connect completely it pops right back up on its own instantly. So I decided to solder wire from leg to corresponding leg and just bridge the connection. Lol my soldering came out looking fairly crude but it completely fixed the issue I was having !! Now I can get back to playing my game through with no worries !!!

Did you just mention Sapphire, excellent !! I've just recently started playing it. My absolute favorite game to play By far at this point. I'ts the game I show my friends that come over first when I break out the Obey hardware to show them it's raw power once fully upgraded. Amazing graphics, amazing game play and amazing audio !! Lol what can I say Sapphire is an amazing game !!

Here's a little project I've been working on lately. Iv'e wired up one of my spare old Dynamo cabs so that I can play my Duo-r through it. At the moment I'm using a VGA 19 inch lcd monitor to display my image through crappy composite video, both joysticks are wired up so that they both are able to use PS to PCE adapters for the controls. What I'm looking to do is upgrade the monitor with one of my spare 19 inch Sony PVM monitors. My Duo-r is RGB modded so I figure this approach would give me the best video quality results possible. The tricky part will be fabricating a bracket of some sort to hold the monitors chassis in place after I completely take it apart and mount it on my cab. I was also thinking of maybe using a RGB to VGA adapter if the PVM idea became to much of a pain to figure out. I can't wait to complete my project as I am totally looking forward to playing all my shmup PCE and TG16 games on it !!

Last night I just found something out that may help some of you guys that are having this issue. Iv'e had this Duo-R going on 2 years now and since I received it I have been having issues with it loosing the music on my CD games randomly. I replaced the laser at first hoping it would solve my problem and it didn't even after fine tuning pots 102 and 105. I even sent it out to one of the techs here, It was sent back to me with the understanding that it was fixed now and to my surprise it continued with the same problem. I was at my wits end and decided to contact a friend of mine in Japan to ask him for some suggestions on what to try out next. He mentioned to me that adding some fresh new white lithium grease to the Laser assembly gears and rails may help. I told him that's the first thing i do to all of my CD based consoles. So he suggested add a bit more to the rails as some times they catch minor hangups for a split second and will loose the games music. So I tried just that and it made it far worst. I took the laser assembly completely apart, slid the rails through the Lasers guide holes and noticed really bad sticky drag while doing that. I cleaned off the rails completely reassembled everything tested it out and just like that problem solved. Iv'e been playing all of my CD games with absolutely no problems no whatsoever !! Very strange as my 2 other Duo's were the complete opposite where if they don't have enough white lithium grease they will have issues reading disc properly. So this is one more thing you guy's can add to your list of trial and error problem solving if you are encountering this issue with your Duo's.

Hey everyone, I'm raffling off these extra loose Hu cards that I recently replaced. They all work perfectly fine besides them having a little clear build up on them from a booklet I had them in. Rules are if you already have most of these please do not enter, honor system guys. You must have at least a post count of 310 on here. I'm hoping to get at least 20 people to enter before I raffle them off. I will pay for shipping if you are a resident of the US only ... Thanks guys

I'm curious to find out if anyone on here has any experience with playing Populous ?? I started going through the tutorial which is all in English so I imagine it's playable without having to know how to read Japanese. My question is to anyone that's played this before is it worth playing ?? Looks fairly interesting so I'm willing to give it a go if it's worth the try ...

So just the other day I came across a good deal on some TG16 games that I needed to replace with the exception that the genius that sold them to me decided it would be smart to spray paint all around the cases and wright the titles on them with a sharpie marker. LOL WTF ??? I asked him what was the point of this and he quickly replied It's so that when I have them stacked with all my other CD games I can easily identify them. Wow to say the least I had to low ball the hell out of him for those Huey's and bring them to a better place which they so desperately needed at this point !! Do any of you guys have any story's regarding this kind of Obey abuse ???

Here are some pics of my cabs Gogan. The cab next to my emulator setup I'm in the process of restoring. It's a Neo Geo MVS 4-25 ver. 2 Big Red cab. The second cab is a Neo Geo MVS 2-19 Gold cab. And the third one is a Neo Geo MVS 2-25 Big Red cab.

Hey guys, I figured Id share some of what I've been up to today until my Duo-R returns back to me from having some fine tuning done to it. I have an old Dynamo cab I gutted out 10 years ago and re wired it up myself to be compatible with pretty much any console that supports component and VGA signals. Lol having some Obey withdraws so I wired it up today in order for it to run my modded original Xbox that I soft modded back in 03. It seems to be running all my Obey CD games flawlessly through it's PCE emulator !! The video quality can definitely have some more fine tuning done to it but so far so good. I'm planning out a full restoration soon on that cab as it's been the most universal Arcade machine I've own to date. In the near future it will be also running my actual original Obey hardware on it once I component mod one of my consoles ...

Hey everyone so I'm sharing this little information for anyone that is looking to store their loose HU Cards or have them in a convenient storage space. I recently discovered that using credit card holders to store your HU Cards can cause permanent damage to them. I've been using this form myself to store some of my games and recently discovered a clear sticky film on them from the plastic on the holders. At first I noticed they were kinda sticking in the little separate compartments of the holder but didn't think much of it. I just the other day took out a few cards to play on my TG16 and to my surprise I noticed they were in bad shape! I tried several forms of cleaning off the residue with methods of safe cleaning which I have performed for many years now and I had nothing but upsetting results. I'm not too sure but it almost seems as if their is a chemical reaction happening with the clear coat on the HU Cards and the plastic from the holders. When trying to rub off the residue it takes everything including the print on the Hueys right off. I now have about 15 non rare easily replaceable Hu Cards that are permanently ruined. A fair warning to anyone considering this form of storing their precious Hu Card games !!

Posting this up because I'm actually really curious to find out if their are any other members on here that ride a sk8board .. I've been sk8boarding since 86' .. My older brothers were into skateboarding and of course I had to follow as a little 6 year old dude in their foot steps .. I actively still sk8board and ride for a small time sk8board company called Sensitive skateboards .. Sk8boarding had been my one and only passion until around 99' when I started to get into gaming and collecting .. After I had a taste of how awesome it felt to have some of the older game consoles from the past and share them with friends I got hooked! Street fighter 2 was what really got me into collecting at first, I started looking for all the console ported versions of it and would have some really competitive battles with my friends after a long day of sk8boarding and being filmed .. Smoking fat blunts, pounding 40's of Mickeys and playing some 2d fighters with friends quickly became a everyday ritual after that .. lol what can I say now that I think about it at age 33 I guess I was just a typical kid from the suburbs of SE Los Angeles ..

Over the past 10 years a lot has change in my personal life because of the freedom I was able to have being a paid sk8boarder .. I slowly started to seek out other gamers that were a little more into collecting games and consoles and were not into partying like I was .. It's been really rough at times becoming close friends with other gaming nerds because of our obvious lifestyle differences .. It's been pretty rad in the past 4 years though, I slowly became the gamer sk8 dude with all the consoles at home that welcomes his family and friends over to enjoy some retro gaming, home cooked meals and a great peaceful vibe once you enter into my otaku life!

Nice thanks man .. I actually don't really have anything against playing on the Virtual console or emulators .. Me and my girlfriend both like to have friendly competition and since she's good at playing retro games .. I will do my best to make it as competitive as possible for her .. At first she started playing Devils Crush on my Tg16, then she started playing it on my Wii because that's the console we use the most in my home as a media center mostly .. But I also soft modded it and installed a ton of goodies on it .. So she would rather just load the game from the Wii so that she does not have to switch the console on my av selector .. I call it being lazy, so I tell her if you don't play on the real deal it doesn't count .. And it guess it worked !! She beat the hell out of my score !! She's gonna be super excited when I tell her that she's gonna be put on the score board here .. I'm gonna have her sign up on the forums under the name Nec.Gamer.Girl .. Wow that sounded super cheesy but it's all good .. lol I love my Tg16 and I also got love for my girlfriend !!

Thanks Vecanti for putting her up on the map, she most definitely played her ass off !!!

MORE SCORES COMING SOON !!!

So here is my girlfriends latest score on Devils Crush .. I have to admit it's a pretty damn decent score considering she just started playing my Tg16 just a few months ago .. She has my ass beat, that's for sure !! lol I'll be submitting one of my high scores soon when I reach at least 58 million !!
She digs my 25 year old hardware theory, no more Wii virtual console Devils Crush for her ..  =D>

NOT TOO SHABBY FOR A TG16 DAME !!!
