I've been thinking about toying around with the Mister FPGA and I was wondering if anyone here has tried the TG16\PCE core and how well it works?

Thanks

Off-Topic / Shantae GBC Sealed Unboxing
05/10/2017, 07:44 PM
So the completionist guy on YouTube just did unboxing video for a sealed copy of Shantae for GBC. I thought it was cool he was opening, thinking he was eschewing collectard'ism for gamer cred. Turns out he was basically forced to in order to get a good deal on the game.
On a side note I'm not dissing the guy I do have a few sealed games myself.

I decided to go ahead and make the Cityscapes post. Starting with the first thing I could find while searching. City Hunter Oedo 808

Has anyone tried modding a Duo to use HD Retrovision cables? The Dbelec guy recommends using the Genesis cable with his grafx booster whatever its called. My Doujindance Duo has an 8 pin + ground, C type DIN, and the Genesis uses a U type I think. Anyways, just looking for some input.
 Thanks.

So, like many people I've always want to learn to program/code, but have never really pursued it. I did take a beginners C++ class, and that is the extent of my experience. I've tried to watch Youtube videos, but I usually run into one of two scenarios. Number one: the beginner videos are for the absolute beginner and I get bored and distracted because I already know some of the stuff. Number two: most of the videos are in the format of "here type this,' and you are just following along trying to alt tab and type what they type.  I know there are several people on this site who program and I was hoping someone could issue me a series of challenges that increase in difficulty and complexity.

For example: Some experienced person says "Make a program that does 'X' thing" and then I go research on the internet and figure out how to do it, come back here with the source code, and proceed to the next challenge.

Also, if anyone else on the site is interested in participating in these proposed challenges then they are more than welcome. As a matter of fact if anyone has any good ideas on how to learn to code or even how to keep oneself focused on task/hobby/learning goal, then feel free to add that here. I get distracted easy, even when playing games I tend to play 4 or 5 in short bursts and seldom complete anything.

So I'm not sure where to post this,  but a friend of mine has a RotJ arcade that is giving an error code. Basically it says the the rom pictured is bad. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone could possibly flash a new one for me( my friend really) in exchange for a bit of bread. Thanks.

Off-Topic / Warcraft Movie
06/11/2016, 11:34 PM
I went to see the Warcraft movie today. I've never been a fan of any of the Warcraft games, but I found the movie to be entertaining. It's not high brow cinema by any means, but it's better than the reviewers make it out to be.

I just finished Axiom Verge. I was wondering if anyone else here has finished and what their thoughts would be on some of the story elements.

I was kind of thinking that the bosses were clones created not by Athetos but rather by the Rusalka. In other words they were created just like Trace but then they were mutated and so they had to create another and finally Trace was successful. Perhaps after the use of the nanogates from Katrahaska. Anyways just curious what others thought.

I thought this was pretty cool, and cheap to boot.

This may not be the correct place for this thread but I wasn't sure where else to put it. I've been having problems with screen rolling caused by scart to component converter. I was looking online and it seems that the problem is caused by a cheap power supply and that it is possible to get it to work on 5v's but I can't find any guides on the internet to do it. I was hoping to power it directly off the scart cable and therefore not need an external AC adapter. Has anyone had experience with this? Thanks.

I'm sure a lot of you have seen this on Facebook already but just in case:

Pretty interesting really.

I'm having an issue where I have vertical screen rolling on some games. It happens on the Konami logo on Rondo of Blood, the second stage of Space Harrier and when I re-enter the first castle on Mysterious Song. It is a DuoR from doujindance. I'm using a Euro scart cable into a scart to component box. My genesis and SNES don't have this problem. Any ideas? Thanks.

Retrogate is having a sale on the Turbo everdrive right now, its $63.20 as opposed to the regular $79. All their other everdrives are discounted also.

I laughed at the first game used to show off this accomplishment.

I just skimmed over some posts on the subject last night before going to bed. I guess the first step is to try adjusting the pots. It's one that supposedly had the laser "refurbished" by doujindance. I bought it in November of last year. ](*,)

I'm just wondering peoples opinion on what Turbo games would be great played in an arcade fashion, or what games people think have a superior arcade version. If I play the arcade Space Harrier does that count as obeying?  :P

NEC Console Resource / Hey I'm also new
11/14/2013, 10:20 PM
Well I'm generally a lurker and don't post very much but I figured I should at least introduce myself. Shortly, after the Turbografx 16's life in the U.S. I purchased once from a yard sale.  I had Fantasy Zone and Ninja Spirit. I'm finally at a place in my life where I can revisit these games and I'm looking forward to experiencing many more.
