From AliExpress. Ordered back in early October. Only received it now.

I had to trim the edges of the PCB's for it to fit in my boot MV-1C board. It works fine now, though.

Shadow od Destiny is a really interesting game that no one ever talks about.

Quote from: NecroPhile on 12/28/2016, 05:17 PMWould you be interested in my TZD brochure for $900 or my kiosk cards for $460?  That's a cool 10% off their going rates: clicky and clacky:mrgreen:
How's he supposed to "charge his crystal" with such low prices. You need to ask at least 2x's Ebay or its like selling garbage.

Yeah, once you 100% it there isn't much reason to keep the save. The game is really pretty easy. As far as long term saves go, I have some PSX saves from BITD, and the reality is that they are so old when I load them up I just think " Damn i need to start over".

Quote from: technozombie on 12/28/2016, 04:50 PMI haven't played a CoD game since World at War so I can't really compare IW to the others. The levels i enjoyed most were the ones that tried to be different. The ones where you're in space and you use a grapple hook to pull yourself around or were there is a big mech in your group and you are support. I found the flight missions to be somewhat boring and uninspired. The story was mediocre stuff you would find in an overweight popcorn movie. The terrorist group you are fighting operates on a thin premise and you're just kind of thinking, what are we fighting for again? On a smaller scale the interactions between characters was enjoyable and like in Rogue One the robot was the stand out character.
which one of those games had the underwater levels?  i never played them, but that always looked cool.
i know one of the boxes also showed zombie levels, but those looked mediocre.
I.W. has some zombie side game, but I haven't tried it. It has some kind of 80s theme like it is their version of Blood Dragon, but I'm not sure if it has any story or is just a versus mode.

Let me know how you enjoy IW. I hear there are a couple great single player campaign levels ;)
It was pretty fun overall, enough for me to finish it. There is a robot named Ethan that is really funny. Overall, I had more fun with Titanfall 2. Both games have double jumping and wall running, but Titanfall really incorpated it into the levels.

I used to regularly check the Texas Retro Gamer page and then it turned into nothing but, buy my shit or look what shit I bought. I think there is just something wrong with society, look at the NES Classic. It's still being manufactured, WTF are people thinking.

I have Facebook, but i rarely look at it. Some worst of Faceboom screen caps could be good for a laugh.

Quote from: wildfruit on 12/10/2016, 02:44 PMI've had an original gba and an SP. my biggest gripe with the SP is not being able to charge and use headphones at the same time.
A DS/DS lite is great for gba games but my go to way to play is on a PSP.
I already have a PSP with NES and SNES emulators on it which doesn't work great for those systems. The emulation is good, but even though it has the same control layout as the original SNES, it's difficult to play action or platformers for some reason.

However, the PSP may be the way to go with other portable systems. Anyone else tried this?
I played through FFVI with the color and sound patches on a PSP and it was great. Action or platforming games may be different, but my impression is good.

I didn't have a problem understanding him and it certainly wasn't annoying.

What's up with people bitching about the guys accent? Great video and this 3 pronged approach is really the best way to represent the SMS.
#69
My vote goes for the AGS-101. The SP form factor is a bit cramped, but as Zeta said, the folding design is great. It easily fits in your pocket and you never have to worry about the screen. My launch SP is scratched to hell, but the screen is perfect. On a side note there is a Pot. screw behind the battery, on the orginal model that will adjust the contrast or brightness, can't remember which it is really. Anyways, my orginal SP was really washed out looking and I was able to adjust it for much better visibility.

I like the look of this game and was hoping I could pick it up in a lot sometime, but alas it hasn't happened. I'll try it out on the Everdrive soon.

If there is any input lag it is likely from the TV. There are several websites that rank TVs based on response time. A good response time was one of the main things I was looking for when I purchased a new TV earlier in the year.

The most notable change might come from the addition of DDR3 RAM (1GB I think) that is used for apps. I don't have an orgininal but I assume this is to improve the performance of things like netflix by keeping them in memory while gaming for fast switching.
#75
Thanks BT, its a really cool game and dat TATE mode.......meh too much effort.

I'm of the mindset it's too big to really be portable, and not powerful enough to be a console. I was wondering about putting a protective case around the portable, but it doesn't look like there is enough space in the dock to accommodate it. Literally the only interesting thing about is that Nintendo makes good games.
#77
It amounts to a tablet with hdmi output and a bluetooth controller.

Seems appropriate to drop this link here. Nintendo is supposed to release a trailer about the NX today.

Nintendo Wii has the initials NW. X follows W in the alphabet. So the next console is called Nintendo X. X is the first letter in Xanadu.Nintendo making a Legend of Xanadu 3 confirmed. Also Half Life.

New Sega Master System pickups! This was a trade with an awesome Sega16 forum member in the UK who was able to find me Sonic 1, Spider-Man, and Strider all complete and in awesome shape!

I had been wanting all of these for awhile, and since the US and UK versions are exactly the same I saw no reason not to just get them from there instead of trying to find them here.  Happy to finally have them in my library, Sonic especially seems like it will be neat to play/compare :)
Nice, i've been thinking about trying to import some SMS games from the UK since the pound has dropped compared to the dollar.

Quote from: goldenband on 10/13/2016, 02:25 PMRenovation have been on my radar for quite a while. The thing about their games is that they're usually at least interesting. Some of them are among my favorites on the system (e.g. Gain Ground, Granada), and even the unfortunate misfires still are worth experiencing.

The bottom of their barrel got pretty bad, but whose doesn't?
Looking at the Rennovation wiki, it looks like they only localized and published pre-existing games. That begs the question. Why would they publish a crappy game? I guess there is more too it than that.

I picked up elemental master ages ago from a video store that was going out of business. It's prettt good although I never actually played it that much. I think i paid $3.

BTW, I absolutely hate beer, and Ian hates Phil Collins. We are absolutely not the same person, although we do own some of the same synthesizers.
No hard feelings from me.

In defense of watching the podcast on Youtube: I watch(or rather listen) in the car on my way to work. I choose this method because I only have to listen to the segments that interest me. For example I'm not a fan of pro-wrestling. In general I enjoy listening to their podcast.

Btw, it still baffles me that the majority of people seem to think of this show as "video". Just so you know, it's also an audio-only podcast and seriously there's no way I could actually watch one of these all the way through. No wonder these guys are so hated. Stop torturing yourself!
It's funny that you say that because Ian seems to think you're his buddy. Check out this video he says it very near the beginning:
You are correct. He is my buddy, we chat via other forums and SMS regularly, sometimes every day. I've known him for a lot longer than this show has been around. He knows I can't stand watching the show, that I prefer the audio version. I've discussed it with him and also on this forum multiple times. It's not a problem. We only occasionally talk about video games.

So excellent detective work as usual, asshole. That's a real lid blower you dug up. I'm now forwarding an image of this post to him.
I'm not sure what I said that was inflammatory, but obviously I hit the nerve of a thin-skinned individual.

I made my pong game, its very simple of course, but it works. I couldn't find a way to produce an executable file in the free version of PlayBASIC. If anyone wants to see it I'll try to post it tomorrow.

Quote from: technozombie on 10/12/2016, 12:19 AMWell, I got my vote in for the Genesis version.
I am torn. Hmmmm.... how will I vote?
Since the PC engine version will be on CD, I thought it would be nice to have an FM synth soundtrack. And, I'm not particularly interested in a Gameboy version.
FM is still available with a CD game.   Just like how PSG is still used with PCE CD games
Didn't we already have this discussion Dr. Wily.
No.  I'm saying that a Sega CD game can still access and use the FM hardware in the Megadrive for music... so CD doesn't mean there's no FM soundtrack.

You can toggle between PSG and CD music in a bunch of PCE CD games, including one I made.

It's a thing.
I knew what you meant. I was refering to the discussion about the fact that at the time CD audio was a big selling point and that using CD audio was as much about the feel of the PCE as PSG music. I feel that the Sega Cd would be the same and it would be counter intuitive to put an FM soundtrack on a CD game. Honestly, from a cost perspective I would have never give the option for a cartridge version and only did the CD. An option for CD audio(original PCE audio) or an arranged FM soundtrack could have been a selectable option.

Quote from: dallaspattern on 10/12/2016, 12:17 AMIt's true, if they had've released SF2 in the US, it would've been huge for the system. Fighting Street was an embarrassment when trying to sell the TG to friends. A Bonk pack in, definitely. Bad cover art, yup. It was definitely a time when these things mattered. However, like the 2nd weezer album, I'm almost glad that it remained underground. Made the system that much more important.
The most important thing they could have done was release the TG16 much quicker in the U.S. and allowed them to build a user base before the Genesis released. Even a 6 month window of being top dog would have made a difference.
