Quote from: RyuHayabusa on 12/28/2017, 03:38 PMFace it, Trump is already doing more for this country than Obama did in eight years. While the left just cries racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia all day and calls him a Nazi, Stalin, KKK, Trump is actually getting shit done.

Quote from: RyuHayabusa on 12/28/2017, 05:51 PMIf you're even somewhat politically informed you already know what he's done and will either attribute it to Obama (stock market, GDP growth, crushing of ISIS, low unemployment, job growth, consumer confidence, etc), call it racism (decrease in border crossings, gang member arrests, travel ban, US embassy moving to Jerusalem, etc), call it hand outs for the rich and corporations (tax bill, cutting regulations, net neutrality gone, etc), a war on women (rollback of contraceptive mandate in Obamacare, rollback of Mexico City Policy, amending Title IX guidelines, etc), a war on the environment (drilling in Anwar, Keystone, XL pipelines, pulling out of Paris Climate Accord) and whatever else.

It's not.  But, Konami did file for a trademark of "Turbografx-16" this year, so mayhaps they're planning something ?  Who knows...

But, just playing fantasy TG world here, with the NES and SNES Mini's hitting the market, would you want to see a Turbografx-Mini ?  Would you buy one ?  The SNES mini is coming packed with 21 games.  Some of the best games that showcase the system's most popular games.

What would you choose for the 21 games to be included in your Turbografx-Mini ?

Let's say this, you get 20 games (HuCard, CD, or even SCD) ALL US TITLES, and then you get the choice of any unreleased PCE (HuCard, CD, SCD) JAPAN ONLY game.  What is your perfect selection for the TG-Mini ?

I think this thread about King of Casino counts as another clear.

Quote from: pc_kwajalein on 02/27/2017, 03:51 PM-EDIT- After a dozen more failed attempts, I realized something and decided to try a VERY RISKY strategy that miraculously paid off. If any CPU opponent gets a large payout in poker, the whole thing crumbles. Luckily (this time), they never got poker payouts big enough to threaten the scheme (although one came excruciatingly close).  Here are some better looking pics of my second triumph over the other 4 CPU opponents.

-The five casinos where I won my five rounds. Some of my favorite fruit in there.  :D

-The screen where the game crowns the 'King of Casino'.

-Game developer, Victor Musical Industries, Inc. at the end of the credit roll.

-One final affirmation from the game. It felt even MORE deserved this time.

Went to see Rogue One for a second time.  It's enjoyable.  Not sure what people were expecting if they disliked it.  I feel that as long as they aren't as bad as the dreadful prequels, they are doing alright.

Also watched "The Knights of Badassdom" on New Years.  lol  It's pretty dumb, but sort of amusing.

Alright, pulled through Dungeon Master: Theron's Quest tonight.  Over the span of 3 weeks, I managed to snag a few hours a few times a week on this one.  Got that damn Retaliator back in it's place!

IMG IMG

Looking over the rest of the list, I'm not sure I have any more Turbo in me for the remaining 48 hours of the year.  :(

It's been fun!  Maybe we should start another thread for 2017 in regards to playing through the remaining 20+ games.  :)

I recognize that "Master Royalty" screenshot... does it get recycled for multiplayer matches?

Because I have a hard time believing my brothers, or I, actually beat the game back in the day.
I'm actually not sure, it's possible that screen is shown when you win a Battle Royale with 5 participants?  That would be lame if it was the same for 5 player and for the end of the game, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me.  I do remember the victory screen changing every few rounds.

IMG

Anyway, cleared another sporty game: TV Sports Football hasn't been claimed yet.  Using the Buzzards I got through a 10 game season just BARELY squeezing into the playoffs at 6-4.
IMG
Took out the "Tidal Waves" in the finals 17-3. (Stupid score screen disappeared before I got the phone/camera ready) I still haven't been able to accurately pass the ball at all, but I've gotten alright at delayed handoffs and just running the ball on nearly every play.  Also, playing linebackers on DEF is a good way to get turnovers when they pass the ball.

Yay, hair ladies with teh trophy

Another one down!  Walked through It Came From the Desert last night with my 15 year old watching and mocking me/it the whole time, lol....  He thought it was horrible, but wound up looking up resolutions/walk throughs on his tablet while I was messing around with it.  Took just under 2 hours.  I was playing it here on Magic Engine using a burned CDr on PC.  (Don't actually own a copy)

I feel a slight sense of accomplishment, even though this was likely the most frustrating 3+ hours of video gaming I've experienced in many years.  But.. hey- All clear Battle Royale Championship on Intermediate.  I won't be trying a higher difficulty, this game is unfair as fudge!

I'll just have to ask some guys that know anything about wrestling I suppose....

OMG, I've had a good time with Andre' Panza in the past, but this play-through was just a serious pain.  I think I've fought Panza and failed a dozen times,  Just when I got him down to nearly all "lights out" he put together a stupid comeback and crushed me, while I fuddled with my phone/camera to snap a pick.

Regardless, I was able to snap a few of his demise, however the shot of me holding the belt was missed and I'm not the #1 money/prize winner currently, however I did gain the championship and beat Panza.  That's enough for me to consider it conquered.... lol

While you advance through your journey in the polarizing Energy, one cannot go wrong with adding "Polish Moon" as a companion to hopefully reduce your senses.  You won't hardly notice the terrible collision detection, unfinished levels or even be remotely disappointed by the miserable play controls if you're shit faced!

...well the soundtrack is pretty good.

Honestly, I'd have to say that this year's TurboFest (and MGC) will go down as my favorite gaming weekend so far!  It was super great to meet everyone that stopped by to say hello and game with us.  I actually got to play much more than in years past likely due to us setting up a day early this year.  So much less stress!!

I can't remember the names of all the cats that stopped by, but it was awesome to hang with you all!

The Midwest Gaming Classic is just around the corner. April 8th-10th.
https://www.midwestgamingclassic.com/

TurboFest is an all OBEY event that runs from Friday night @6pm until Sunday night!!  We have the Turbobbers running almost the entire weekend (usually doors locked around 3am-6am) playing all the coolest games and systems known to man!!

And this year we have a special announcement!!-

TurboFest MGC '16- High Score Challenge!! -Will probably take place late afternoon on Saturday April 9th. But that could change to Sunday. You wont know what game you will be playing until the contest starts. First place will get their choice of a sealed New Adventure Island or Air Zonk for PC Engine. Second place will get to choose from the remaining game...or sealed Bomberman. Third place will get the last game left over.  Games for the tournament will be announced at the show, but any requests can be made in this thread!!  The pictured prizes below have been donated by our very own forumite - brrap!!
IMG

We also want to mention that if you're able to attend and want to hang out in the Turbo Room, we're looking for a few people to bring systems (TG, PCE, SGX, PC-FX) and some CRT TVs for the show.  We're thinking we'll be able to fit 8 stations so if anyone would like to bring their system sets we'd love to have the help!!

If you can bring some OBEY to the show, please let either myself or Jodi (brrap) know via PM or commenting here.

Thanks guys!!

Hope to see many of you at the show!!!

I know everyone must've played through this bad ass game at least once in their day.  What kind of scores have you recorded?

I just gave the imported version a go this afternoon and nearly 3 hours later I had the game beaten. Here is my score (or at least the best pic of the score that I could get after realizing I missed my chance at it when the end credits begin....

1819900 + 10000 for the final boss, however I only got a good pic of the 1819900, so we could go with that for now until I give it another try....  Comically, the passwords work for either the US or PCE versions, so they're completely identical games.

We'll be doing more in the future, so if you liked 'em stay tuned.  :)

Fighting Street / Re: burnout thread
10/02/2015, 02:30 PM
It is kind of important for me personally to have a GIANT game library with way too many consoles in my house just for the purpose of running a couple minor game gathering/cons throughout the year and for supplying consoles for events like MGC.  So, I keep all this just to share with others anyway.  :)

IMG

I've often thought about this too.  I sold off nearly everything I had back in 2008.  I felt GREAT about not having to lug all my boxes around when I wanted to play something and just stuck to emulation for about 2 years.  However slowly but surely things just kept falling back into my lap over the years.  "Busted TG-16" from MGC w/ extras - Sega CD set complete at a garage sale - Neo Geo CD from a buddy that got lost in the mail... :(  etc etc Now I've amassed a game library that dwarfs my original "collection" from back in the day.  I just keep an eye on craigslist and thrifty stores so no major investments from me.  Sometimes I think about just giving it back to the community and I'm not even sure I would be sad if I really needed to do a fire sale of everything.  Probably some decent cash in all this stuff.  :)

Sort of like catch and release?
