This cable will allow you to use the TurboStick or TurboPad on a duo or pce.  Terry made this for me a few years back and I no longer need it, hoping to give it a good home. $8 shipped anywhere in the lower 48, PM me if interested

sold!

I stopped by a local retro game shop today and was pretty surprised to see one of these on the shelf.  I felt the price was a little steep, is $60 what these go for now?  I don't recall TZD ever selling these, were they phased out early in the system's life?  Do we know what they originally retailed for?  just curious i guess.

has anyone tried these out? I need a new device to use while traveling and these look pretty awesome.  I'm sure quality control is an issue though, considering the price point...
I own the device you have pictured above. First rule of thumb with devices like these, don't buy them for how they come stock. The JXD 7300b works like shit outta the box. After updating with third party firmware, and installing better emulators and games it works very well. The D-pad is a tad soft, but sound is very good, the screen is excellent, compatibility after custom firmware is very good, and the machine is extremely fast for what it is.

Maybe we can get a few other android lovers on board with this thread and workout some details on stuff like dosbox and emulators.
if i may ask, where did you order it from?  Willgoo seems to be pretty popular, but they ran out of the white model so I'll have to try somewhere else.

Quote from: ccovell on 02/09/2013, 11:49 PMThe original game titled "Time Cruise" was never released, actually.

The US game is just a rebadge of Time Cruise II, the sequel.

Quote from: egg_sanwich on 02/06/2013, 08:33 PMYou're going to want to use vinyl dye. It goes a few millimetres into the plastic, doesn't just simply cover it up like paint, so it won't chip.

I've seen someone use it on a yellowed Famicom, with outstanding results:

that vinyl dye on the famicom looks amazing!  i'll definitely be doing this to mine.

the only reason I wouldn't do this to PCE is to preserve the logos, it just wouldn't be the same without them.

today I finally acquired Rainbow Islands!  Did this game have a low print run or something, I don't see it pop up too often...

also I was lucky to find a Super 2 in 1 pirate hucard.  some might think bootlegs are junk, but i'm kind of fascinated by them.

i keep all of my hus in a padded caselogic cassette tape case:

IMG

IMG

while its original purpose was to hold maybe 8-10 cassettes, i have repurposed it to hold ~50 hus w/ sleeves instead.  all the jewel cases & manuals are kept elsewhere, as this allows me to keep all my games within a small footprint.

i've tried using business card folders/wallets in the past, but they always ended up bowing/stretched due to the thickness of the hus.

forgive my ignorance, but what is Hany exactly?  Is the likeness of Hany based on something, or is he/she/it just an abstract mascot type character?   heh... I have my theories, but they might be a little inappropriate...  :-"

i love reviving this thread  :P

Rumor (legend?) has it that Street Fighter 2 was originally supposed to load music off of an included CD, which may explain why the hucard comes in a double case.  The double case could have just been used to make the game look more impressive, since it was a whopping 9800 YEN at release (ouch!).  Either way, the CD was apparently scrapped to help keep the cost down.

Well anyway, the programmers left in the code to turn off the chiptune BGM, so that you may enjoy CD Music with the standard SFII sound effects peppered in.  This procedure requires either a cd-rom2 briefcase setup or TG-CD.  Sorry, no fancy duo units allowed  [-(

1. Startup the game like normal, but let the demo play out
2. Insert a controller into port 3 of the tap and press RUN.  This will pause the demo, letting you know it worked correctly.
3. Insert any CD of your preference.
4. Press RUN on controller 1 or 2 to start the game like normal.
5. Press the PLAY button on the CD unit for the music to start, skip buttons to select track.

maybe this is well known, but I had trouble tracking it down online.  Thankfully the turbolist archives are still online.

Edit: relevant gif is relevant
