looks like the people (person?) that put together the Sapphire boots from a few years ago is releasing a new set of reproduction games.  Renny Blaster, Faussete Amour, Kaze Kiri Ninja Action and Sylphia for 119 euro shipped.

not sure how i feel about this.  thoughts?

I stopped by a local retro game shop today and was pretty surprised to see one of these on the shelf.  I felt the price was a little steep, is $60 what these go for now?  I don't recall TZD ever selling these, were they phased out early in the system's life?  Do we know what they originally retailed for?  just curious i guess.

[Console Repair/Mod Center / IFU mod question]

As my pce briefcase setup is my main source for obey, I was wondering if it might be possible to mod this setup to power on with only the pce switch, negating the need to lock/power the IFU as well.  It is not an inconvenience by any means to switch both on before playing, but this would be an attempt to streamline the process (i.e powering on the duo or mega cd).

has this been attempted before? is it possible?  It may not be necessary to enjoy the system, but I am definitely curious.

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / have your purchasing habits changed due to emulation / flash cards?]

Turbo/PCE emulation has been around for years now, but over the past ten years the scene has evolved into its current state where you can not only play PCE on your home computer, but on other systems such as PSP, XBox and Wii.  Portable systems such as Caanoo, GP2X, Dingoo, etc are mainly used for emulating old consoles as well.

Flash cards are not new either, as even BITD there were Game Doctor devises to backup hucards onto floppy disks.  Currently we have more sophisticated devices such as the Turbo EverDrive, which loads up roms without much effort at all.

I'm curious to find out if these modern conveniences have changed how we collectively purchase/collect/play turbo.  Any thoughts?

Has anyone on the forum made a custom rear-case insert for the game Motteke Tamago?  I have seen the great inserts made for Gate of Thunder 3in1, and was hoping that there might be something available for this game as well since it also lacks traditional dressings.

...and also related: has anyone thought of making a template so that it would be easy to create custom inserts?  I'm not sure if the demand is too high, but it could be cool.

forgive my ignorance, but what is Hany exactly?  Is the likeness of Hany based on something, or is he/she/it just an abstract mascot type character?   heh... I have my theories, but they might be a little inappropriate... 

[Console Repair/Mod Center / busted hucard or pce??]

I've been looking around the repair forum for answers and could use some help on this one

Recently I purchased Hana Taka Daka and once it arrived, put it in my white pce cdrom2 setup and it worked fine.  I shut it off and came back to it a few hours later, but it wasn't working the same.  I noticed that if I watched the demo, the screen froze and it would not respond to a soft-reset.  I manually restarted the console, and now the game freezes right as the first level is starting.

My first reaction was to clean the game's contacts with 91% isopropyl alcohol.  Didn't change anything.

Then I pulled out my US Duo w/ Kisado converter...and the game works fine! weird...

The PCE was region modded with a switch a few years back, and I wonder if that has something to do with it.  I found this old post, which indicates that pce mods might cause some games to crash:

could this be the problem?

I've had trouble using a Neo Flash on this system in the past as well.   I also noticed recently that my jpn 3.0 card crashes before a game can load too.  I didn't really pay attention to that b/c my arcade card pro works.  I have about 50+ hus, and have tried quite a few tonight, which all seem to be working fine.

Also... since I had my kisado out, i switched the PCE to USA mode, stuck Hana Taka Daka in the kisado...but the game won't load at all, just a blank screen.  All of my other jhus will work using this method.

any input is greatly appreciated.  please don't tell me the hu is dead

[Console Repair/Mod Center / help: disassembling cd-rom2 briefcase]

I am looking into whitening my cd-rom2 setup so I am going to have to take it apart.  I had no problem with my white pce thanks to the guide on superpcenginegrafx, but the cd-rom unit seems a bit more complicated.  I took the case off but inside there was a lot going on and I didnt want to risk breaking anything.  Does anyone have any experience safely taking these apart?  Any tips or picture guides aimed toward a total newb (like me) would be awesome!

Just got a sealed copy of Camp California, a game i've never tried before, and I don't know if I should just open the fucker up, or keep it sealed and find a cdr copy to play.

by the way some people talk about this game, it might not even be worth playing...

I re-bought this game, thinking that I might be better at it after all these years, but I still cant get past the cat-worshipping-pyramid-from-hell thing.  Anyone got any tips?  I thought there used to be a FAQ for this game on gamefaqs.com, but i guess it dissapeared (?)
