2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

Off-Topic / Famous people you've met

Living  5 minutes from the Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, FL and working in South Beach driving escorts i had a few run ins with celebs. i even drove an escort before she got "famous" (Kat Stacks)

i met Tego Calderon shook his hand, he is a puerto rican rapper. I valeted and got an autograph from Orande Gadsen ex Dolphins receiver, I  walked past Ryan Seacrests midget ass he was walking with like 3 chics that dwarfed him while i was waiting on a girl in south beach. and i once took  a chic to go 'see' Emmit Smith, she didnt even know who he was! wow

i met DJ Laz and Pitbull before Pitt was so famous.

i guess the coolest part was being friends with Kat Stacks before she got locked up (she got "famous" for filming soldier boy on Coca tonic)

Just like you can bulk  up and get strong like Van Damme and even do splits and put your steel toed boots into a 6'6 guys face. yup. you can also naturally make your lady pleaser as big as your desire is

i've been training ten years now, and its the best feeling when the womans eyes get HUGE  at the reaction. Epic, priceless. the indians made it up its an excersize, wont get into it here do your own research

i saw a japanese porno and was shocked how small! oh man, i pray that all asian pornstars arent like that for the sake of the women.

99% of women dont care if your skinny  , fat, ugly , hairy , whatever, as long as your packin its aaaaall good

Is there a difference in Doraebian Nights on PCE CD vs the SNES version? Other than the cute voice GAAME when you pick up  a one up?

fun fact, Doraemon is super famous in all asian countries and even Russia, its been translated across many languages. A Thai girl I used to date had a Doraemon video tape and then I showed her my Duo version of the game. We beat it together :)

The internal HD is only  4gb?? The weakest external is 20gb isnt it? Havent owned a 360 since 2011 I forget.

That is the only difference in the two correct?

General Gaming / Any MSX fans out there?

The MSX and PC-98 had a onslaught of RPGs and Text Adventures. The MSX seems to be the most 'western friendly' of the machines as it has seen many translations of many great (mostly Konami) games.

Brings me to the point, this little known awesome Konami RPG. Knightmare 3 , is available in Enlgish, Spanish & Portuguese. A great RPG with fun battle scenes.

Fighting Street / DIE Christians DIE

Cant believe Exile got a USA release. Like changing the name of Christians to Klispins and keeping the cross on their chest would fool us.

Just saw an amazing 1954 movie called The ADVENTURES OF HAJI BABA that reminded me of Sadler

An amazing flick!!! I love it, one of my new top favorite movies of all time. The production value, the crazy horse battle stunts (my friends dad broke his neck working with horses all his life , years before retiring). I mean the battles where well orchestrated and choreographed, story was cool, and there were no "bad cuts" in the action scenes. Scantly clad women EVERYWHERE including amazons. Movie was a roller coaster. A movie with so much visual detail needs a Bluray re release.

White people playing muslims is cool too, reminds me of how the Japanese make everyone white despite race in their cartoons/games.

I first played the Huey version thinking it would be some sort of action game. I was greatly disappointed when I learned it was a cool RPG I cant play due to barrier of the language.

Later they released the english translation of the Super Famicom version. I noticed the battle graphics were different, not better, just different. Both enemies and your Mechs looked different and I think I prefer the PCE graphics style better. It was grittier and matched the futuristic galaxy much better. I know the inside of the space ship interface was different or at least looked totally different.

Its a great game regardless , a space opera if you will, anyone else know of any differences in these versions?

Did anyone else enjoy this Sega Sports title?

Enough arcade and simulation mixed for the ultimate football experience.

General Gaming / 3DO
11/07/2013, 02:53 PM
Your favorite 3DO game and or system?

My very first system was an FZ10 in the mid 90s. I got it with about 10 games, one of them was HELL and was one of my favorites at the time. I also had FIFA. Over time I acquired all the FMV games like Crime Patrol 1 and 2 (i used to like the lightgun games). Im a Micro Cabin fan (makes of Xak and Illusion City) so I loved the game Luciennes Quest. It actually looks better on 3DO colorwise than on the Saturn.

Guardian War was too weird and took too long to get through a phase of combat. I may have to replay it to see if my memory is foggy. My favorite games were

Road Rash
Road & Track Need For Speed
Slayer
AD&D
Demolition Man

I hated Immercenary, maybe I was too young to get it? I tried getting into it as an adult and tried and just cant do it.

This gameplay in the stills looks exactly like Madden 93 for the Genesis. I remember that game being fantastic to play and the animation was decent enough. How doe the DUO version comare to the Genesis madden games?

I am thinking about ordering it since I used to love Madden 93 on Genesis.

Off-Topic / The NFL
11/01/2013, 09:15 AM
anyone like NFL football? I used to be able to watch college even high school games but now its all NFL. I come from a big football state so our games were always televised in highschool despite only getting 3 wins in 4 years . Had a losing season every year, went 0-10 our first two years, 1-9 junior 2-8 senior year, but it was because we had a TOUGH division to play in, and we were the least ghetto school in a very ghetto division.

Im glad my Dolphins won last night and got the record back to .500 at 4-4, we are #2 soon to be #1 in our division.
#19
Anyone ever get far in this or learn how to master the horrible controls? I hated the 45 minute intro before getting to the gameplay.
#20
Im in shock. This is by far the best version of NG1 and I cant really watch the story unfold (unless im fresh off the NES version). Is this a hoax? Or did someone really make this? I cant find the patch

http://www.vgmuseum.com/end/tg16/a/ninga.htm

edit: Nevermind , I just found a site that claims "ENGLISH MODE hold I & II on the title screen and press select.

Cant verify this until Im back home in a few weeks. Wonder if we can get Kunio Kun Soccer in english on PCE

This game has SO LITTLE text, it baffles me why no one has ever attempted to translate it. An amazing RPG with really cool graphics.

on romhacking.net

I want to dedicate this translation to the person and friend that let me borrow the game and play it for the first time when I was in 9th grade. He spotted a Space Harrier box in my bookbag and said "is that turbografx!?" (1998 btw) and I said yeah you know about that ? He lent me Neutopia and eventually i lent him games and he lent me games as well.  He passed away last year at 28. I want to dedicate this translation in his name!!! RIP FOREVER , Your spirit will be with me everytime I play Neutopia and Final Lap Twin , he also knew the passwords "jipped" you (in Final Lap), his exact words. Because of him I discovered the RPG mode in Final Lap, previously I had only played Arcade mode at a friends house. I will forever remember him.

5 months after a near death accident left me with multiple skull fractures and two broken fore arms and wrists, My wrists are finally flexible enough to bend and push a limited amount of weight. I started slowly since I have not excersized since May. It feels good to be sore again, to get that appetite back and to slowly get myself back to the 'old me'.

Just wondering if anyone else in here likes to jog  , lift weights, practice a martial art?

I REALLY REALLY want to like this game. But once you get to the 3rd or 4th fighter, the game becomes rather impossible. Maybe someone with a manual to the game or something can give me advice on defeating the later opponents?

I cant find any FAQ on the internet or advice. How do I perform the 'Killer Punch' ??
#25
I first played the SNES version in about 1995 , a friend lent it to me. I hated it

Years later I got Ys 3 for the Duo and I loved it. I played and beat that one before 1 & 2 so I didnt know it was pronounced EASE . Me and my buddies that always called it WISE still call it that. Nostalgia, plus it sounds cooler.

A 27 year old mom, she is really hot, has her own career going. Bit of a shakey past but doing good with money and is  a good mom. Plus she is smoking hot, and really down to earth and easy to communicate with

GO!

(maybe I shoulda put this in fighting street)

ORIENTAL BLUE on gameboy advance 100% translated.

Cant wait to play it
#29
Maybe its the arcade like style. Also the realistic stats and cool batting and pitching style.

They made a 97 and 99 (skipped 98) BOTH WERE HORRIBLE

The first ps1 bottom of the 9th was like a 3D version of the 1989 original

is it the same as Wizardry 4 Gaiden on SNES?

Since 4 requires a save file from 3. Then again its two games on one huey. Also I would imagine even with all the options in english the story and random events are japanese. Wizardry 1-6 on SNES , 4 had to be a totally original game since it could not transfer over parties from part 3. Hence Wizardry 4 GAIDEN

Ok in 2009 2010 I backed up my entire library almost. I used bin cue, I think I used Nero 5.5

All my old copies work perfect.

I am stuck on  a game now that I wasted 3 CDs. The first BinCUE with IMGburn dosnt even read the disc in Magic Engine. The 2nd two discs came out as Data disks.

the cue file looks good . Any help?
#32
Wondering, because  I have an incredible gaming discovery that we never got in america of course.
#33
It seems the screen at the bottom of the battle screen cuts off the character portraits that shows their equipment. Something Im missing?
#34
Finally a 3DO emulator that has joystick input (no more joy to key) though it dosnt feel much better than joy to key, i think they just integrated the actual program JOY2KEY into the emu.

Now we can play all our 3do games in HQx3 glory!!

LUCIENNES QUEST!!! the ONLY english release of a Micro Cabin game that was not fan translated! (Xak 1-3 , Illusion City)

I cant find where to put the last book (Dark Fact)

and I cant find the EVIL BELL

http://www.romhacking.net/translations/2030/

Not only was it THE first RPG for the TurboGrafx / PC engine , but it WAS ACTUALLY GOOD.

I love how each enemy has its own GOREY death animation. For a game made in 1987 thats awesome!
