I wanted to show people how new conditioned systems look and compare. I'm using the Super Famicom for contrast, because i think its a great looking system...i just love the cardboard BG.

There is a discussion over at the sega 16 forums about CD vs cartridge, i brought up that there are some pce cd games that will load information during gameplay so i decided to see how far it went, the one game i knew that did this was Tenchi wo Karau...just look at the variety in the backgrounds.

lets test it.

these shots are all from the first level.

i didn't feel like going back and taking shots of the first level, but it applies to every level...you can see that tiles start to drop until none are left.

I might add to this every so often, if i where to do every single difference(pce superiority) in one go, it would take me 5000 to 5001 years.

As you can see in the pce version, each bone changes to a darker color before disapearing on the ape skeleton, he will also throw an elbow  if you get behind him.

Breaking down the rating of each game into four categories, gameplay(gplay) graphics(grfx) special effects(sfx) and sound effects(sndfx), i left music out because its to hard for me :-s...here are a few to start with, it would be nice to hear other opinions but, they will be disregarded and only my opinions will be accepted as truth (which are susceptible to change at any time).

OK, here are some comparison shots, I've made much more progress than this but every thing kinda looks the same up to that point.

Any more request, I'll just post them here.

Lets talk about the life changing subject of color cycling.

Color cycling was used in many ways during the 16 bit era, Valis (pcengine) for example used it in the first level for the sky, later levels for the effect of flowing lava. For the bone dragon boss fight in legend of xanadu I, it was used to very good effect in the background sky, snes rpg's used this effect a lot, such as in the last boss fight in Chrono trigger.

The benefit of color cycling is that your only changing colors and not actually moving pixels around, this of course means that you dont have to use as much memory or processing power, the drawback is that it doesn't look as textured/tactile as say line scrolling.

Maybe there are some examples that you can share or add to or correct what i have said.

Looking for a cheap duo-r or super cd rom addon, all i need for the duo-r is the ac adapter and for the super cd rom addon the ac adapter and the cord that connects to the pc engine, core grafx I/II, does not matter what cosmetic condition the system is in.

I have not been able to find a post or topic about this problem, a problem that im having with my pcengine duo, i have no ADPCM sound fx, the cd music and psg sound are loud and clear and the head phone jack does not work either so i dont think its the laser.
