10/31/2023: Localization News - Dead of the Brain 1!

No, NOT a trick, a Halloween treat! Presenting the Dead of the Brain 1 English patch by David Shadoff for the DEAD last official PC Engine CD game published by NEC before exiting the console biz in 1999! I helped edit/betatest and it's also a game I actually finished in 2023, yaaay! Shubibiman also did a French localization. github.com/dshadoff/DeadoftheBrain

I couldn't get my IDE CDROM drive to work(probably a CDROM driver problem) on the PC-98, so I did something unthinkable:
OMG you are like probably the 3rd or 4th person in the world ever to use the FX as a SCSI CD.  I have been wondering lately if the FX could be used as a CDrom for my old MAC iici with the scsi adapter.  Do you have any kind of info on what type of CDrom it shows up as or what drivers were made for it if it needs specific ones?

I did it, I really went out and did it...I bought a 50 dollar PC-E game!

ebay.com/NEW-GALAXY-FRAULEIN-YUNA-pc-engine-SCD-JPN

I have been looking at it on dreamstars for gawd knows how long and today I offered Toshi 50 dollars to end the listing and to sell to me for 50 dollars flat with EMS shipping.  I feel like a bit of a fool spending so much on a single game, but I think this really is a rare item which wasn't even listed as rare...how *cough* rare is that on ebay!?

The world of HuVideo, here I come!

2021 UPDATE: This game was targeted for localization by Supper and team!

Wrong!  ](*,)

Quote from: nat on 03/10/2008, 11:31 AMCotton on the Turbo seems like a pretty fantastic port, how is the PS1 version better?
It isn't.  Especially not Marchen Adventure Cotton 100%, which is a port of the SNES game.  However, the PS port of Fantastic Night Dreams is just as good as the PCE version and damn near arcade perfect.
Well when I got it back in the day for 25 bucks including shipping I was pretty dang excited.  Although back then I never dreamed I would actually ever own PC-E hardware

Quote from: elnino on 02/20/2008, 04:58 AMGlad to hear that you've finally got your system. I'm kinda surprised about the service from hit-japan because I have never run into problems with him so far.
I'm surprised too, but Hit-Japan refuses to this day to email me back, even to tell me why they will not email me back.  The last time I heard from them was the day they gave me an invalid EMS (people should note my package was not shipped EMS in the first place) tracking number for my package on the 3rd of Feb.  I haven't even accused them of anything, anything at all...yet.

At least I now know if anything, anything at all goes wrong with an order what the real face of Hit-Japan is:

It is 19.7" Length x 10.25" Width x 4.5" Height.  Not too big, not too small.  And it is also 5 dimensional inches below the limit for an airline carry-on.

I have been messing around with configurations and using a CD case as a CG stand-in, I believe I will be able to store:

The CG II
AC adaptor
Video cable
A stack of games
1 PC-E controller (I could put in two if they were one on top of the other)
1 PS1 dual shock controller
1 multi tap
1 PS1 --> PC-E converter (I could fit 2 like with the PC-E controller, but I would have to carry the 4th controller outside of the case).

You can purchase it here: Link to Store

A purely musical based game with no graphics, and one with this many keys might be hard to master.

However it would look freaking sweet in the arcade as long as they model it after that Optigan model!

They pretty much want to push out all the small time and lower priced sellers. ($0.01 - $25 range)
This is where the majority of sellers for our hobby fall, so wait and see what happens to prices.
These greedy pricks are gonna start making Wal-Mart look like saints.

Blaaah.....Ebay can kiss my IMG I'm done selling there.
Which change is the evil one?  Their page makes it sound like they are lowering fees.

I do not often change my avatars, but I decided to today. I agree that changing them too often can result in people having trouble understand who is speaking, that's probably the main reason I do not change mine very much.  The kitty is so curious and cute though, I just had to share it with everyone.

Quote from: natHe broke a beer bottle over my friends head and the glass went everwhere, especially right into the carpet. My friend had to hide and escape out the back door when this other douche wasn't paying attention. This guy realized my friend had split so he ran outside and jumped onto the hood of my friend's car as he was pulling away and started jumping up and down while trying to break the windshield. After that we wouldn't let the asshole back inside so he stole a bicycle that belonged to one of the neighbors and rode away. We never saw or heard from him again, thank god.

A mustang?  Lame.  I've always though mustangs were not a whole lot to look at.  I'd almost rather see Kitt a Fiesta, at least then there could be some kind of Herbie commedy relief to the movie when they actually catch up to a bad guy.  They also could have made Kitt a tricked out Yugo or something =D>

Email sent, I am interested in 1 64M card.  (I'm mostly posting in the event my mail is filtered)

Oh yeah, and this card looks like liquid sex!  I was honestly worried about how it would look since there wasn't a pic listed on the first page.  Oh, the card is in megabytes, not megabits.  I was worried about 64 megabits, which it could have been, being a bit small.  64MB sounds like a lot to me though.  I could see one of these being so nice to pair with a core grafx system as a travel/vacation console.
