Kudos to you sir. Don't enter me because I already have this fine brace of games but a real treat for the winner.

Well I hooked up the Wii u version of Zelda today and it looks amazing. If they could have developed games like this earlier I'm sure it would have been a better story for the Wii U. If it looks better on the switch then that's decent.
#105
Just had a thought. A new Samba de amigo would suit the switch nice.

Also, docking seems like it will inevitably fuck the screen up because it is hard plastic inside the dock, and the screen rubs up on it like a cheap stripper trying to get some 5$ bills.
That's pretty shabby. There seem to be a lot of reports of a similar defect. I'm amazed they're not more scathing in their outlook on this. Most seem geared towards doing a home made fix to this rather than calling Nintendo out on poor design. I get it doesn't actually affect the viewable area, but still it probably won't look that great after some heavy docking & undocking.
Still probably get one when that mario hits at the end of the year though, unless some major epic AAA title appears. Cough metroid.

Well the shops have been open for a couple hours now and, at least locally to me, stocks are still available. No pre order wash outs, which is good I guess.

I had one of these when I had a JP Saturn. Also I have mega drive and PS1 scarts from this place.
#109
Still no. Still not enough to generate an interest. Still stupid price for a pro controller. I'm going to guess a Christmas bundle with the mario game for the same price will happen. That's more appealing. When PS3 launched it was £425 on its own. The next summer deals for same price could be had with 2 games & 2 dual shocks. I'm going to sit out for a bit. Breath of the wild Wii U beckons.

I hope some European stores update a pre order soon. Import isn't really viable cos brexit.

Quote from: esteban on 02/20/2017, 10:40 AMI never played it, but I'm too busy playing other stuff and someone else deserves a chance to play it now.

It's on my list of "must play before I die"...

Right at the end of the Wii U life cycle they stick two PCE games  on the virtual console

Not that this will apply to most people but there are still tons of new Wii U consoles in bundle boxes available in PAL land. Even the OMG "LIMITED EDITION " Zelda one that's been limited edition for the last 4 years. there are pack ins available for mario kart, xenoblade and splatoon too.
Also they are still priced at original retail.

Still playing Overwatch daily, couple hours a day. Damn thing is so addictive.

I would see a jazz quartet with Esteban and drink sweet Sancerre til sunrise. Vegan of course.

Quote from: ALinkToRetro on 10/29/2016, 10:32 PMAlready have the pack in without back insert.
Are you going to play both at once? If you want a proper case just buy the Japanese version for pennies and stick it in there.
#124
It looks very pretty but I bet the modules will be expensive. Would probably piss the wife off less than my current set up of an illustrated history of nec, sega and Sony stacked on the bedroom side.

It takes a season or two to get hooked but once you are in its fantastic. Basically I feel the stories and characters are deeper then any other trek franchise.

Next is Voyager

Star Trek Enterprise is meh for me. That being said dont miss out on that one either. Its pretty solid and even though I didnt like it as much as the others I can see that its pretty solid as well
Absolutely.
I am currently giving Enterprise a proper go. Did not give it a proper chance when it was actually broadcast. It seems better than I remember. Except for the translator woman. She's not a very good actress and her character is lame. So far.

Quote from: guest on 01/23/2017, 03:59 PMWait, there was Toys R Us in the UK?!  My mind is thoroughly blown at this point.
According to their website since 1985. My earliest memory of one is seeing an Atari lynx for the first time so early 90s I guess. I remember they hung games in vga style acrylic cases rather than on shelves.

I mean this advert says say-gah but I guess I never saw it or paid attention.
Also what a bargain

Been living in a semi socialist country for the last 33 &3/4 years.
I suspect I have a different view of what socialism is to a lot of you.
Say if someone had a grave medical condition that made their premium so high and they could not work to pay it. Do I mind my tax monies contributing towards their wellbeing and hopefully some standard of living? No I do not.
Every basic human necessity should be run collectively & not for profit. There is plenty of money in the world for all. It is a human fallacy that a wealth generator is more important than anyone else.

Quote from: seieienbu on 01/19/2017, 04:47 AMI never played Sim Earth on Turbo CD but man, that game was a letdown after Sim City.  It felt like you just couldn't do, like, anything.  I halfway want to pick up a copy and give it a shot just to see if my memory of the game is at all based on what the game is actually like or if I just couldn't grasp the goal as a ten year old...
Did you ever try sim farm? It looks rubbish but is actually quite engrossing.

I am hoping to find the answer to this as well for the exact same reason. (Without giving PCEworks $ for a pressed repro)
Don't bother.  I got one for $0 it took a lot longer to load than my own CD-R of drac x.

A fairly balanced video. For me personally it's just not what I want. I could have done without the tablet aspect and as for motion controls just can't stand them.
I do envisage I will eventually dip in, but not right away.
I do hope a lot of others find enjoyment with this straight away as even though I'm not raving I wouldn't want it to be a complete dodo. Maybe they'll come out with a switch light or something, sans tablet.

Quote from: TheClash603 on 01/14/2017, 04:44 PMMy friend just watched all of Voyager and gave it his endorsement.  I watched basically every TNG when it was new and never moved past, which series should I go to next?  Are these streaming on any service?
If you want a thrilling, gripping story arc DS9 is the way to go. Give it time , it builds and I think the character development is most in depth. All star treks are on Netflix. Well in U.K. they are.

On the other hand, I went all the way through Enterprise and while it is cringe worthy on occasion it's still pretty good.
/quote]
I have never given enterprise a real chance, don't think I've even seen an episode all the way through . I shall do once I plough through voyager.
#148
I like TNG. The most toys is a great episode. I blasted through all the episodes and all the DS9 episodes last year. DS9 hmm. I used to detest it but now it's my favourite. I find it compelling. Now watching voyager. Skipping a lot of episodes. So much filler that adds nothing.
#149
I was keen. Til I weighed up that  buying the system, a game and a pro controller is almost £400. That is atrocious. Will wait for some sort of bundle to appear.
#150
I have a fairly basic setup of G3258 @. 3.8Ghz with a 750ti. It can output 4k but only at 30Hz. Tried playing games but frame rates were atrocious.
Any hoot I second half life 2. Amazing masterpiece. Transport tycoon still holds up, there's even a free open source version called open TTD. Revisit the old lucasarts classics with scummvm and take settlers 2 for a whirl.
Newer games I don't play much, only overwatch. It's heller addictive, frantic fun.
