Never said that it was, but it and similar games on PCE are as much as or more RPGs as so many other games that people call "RPG" today (Snatcher, Zelda, war sims, etc).
ok, you said RPG'ish games ;)

I got really allergic to that teal'n'orange crap over the past few years. almost a deal breaker for me.
same goes for todays CGI stuff.
what looked revolutionary and perfect used in stuff like terminator II, these days it's only soulless synthetic crap for like 95% of most of its usage.

Quote from: toktogul on 06/17/2014, 10:53 PMYou stated you didnt know if it was a japanese version or not, i simply answered that it was never released.

As for the we, i've been living here in a small town, speaking and living my japanese life for too long, i tend to include myself as a japanese citizen when i speak english. english isnt my main language, and in French i would have you "on" instead of the "nous". they both mean "we", but "on" is less inclusive as "nous". once again, sorry if you took it personal, i simply wanted to share with you the information regarding what i knew about the 3-1 cd in Japan.
hehe. I see and sure no harm done ;)

As for myself, english is not my mothertongue, but german (swissgerman) is. I do also remember a little bit of french. can read most of the stuff, but as for speaking/conversations I'm mostly lost these days.

what I meant to say is, that I am aware that there was never an official release of the 3(4)in1 disc here in japan, but that it might have been used as a demo disc bitd in japan as well for some promotion purposes etc. that's the point where I was not sure whether it was a disc made for japan or for somewhere else. I didn't see this disc neither anywhere else before.

:)

Quote from: Tatsujin on 06/17/2014, 08:52 PMI remember seeing a demo disc at trader honkan about 3 years ago for 100 bucks around. the disc was all silber on top and had a green imprint on it (font). the green was kinda jade-green.

also do not know whether it was a Japanese or US disc. IIRC it was only written in English letters.

never saw another one so far.
it wasn't the japanese for sure because we do not have a 3-1 disc. you have to buy the games indiidually. moreover, there is no cd version of bonk 1-2-3 in Japan.
what do you mean with "we"? and I am certainly aware of the fact that there is NO commercial release of such a disc in japan as the US had it, hence it obviously was/must have been a "hibaihin" disc. maybe it existed even before the US got its commercial release.

but as I said, I can't remember all the details of that disc, other than it was completely different to the US commercial version, but still it was a pressed/printed version an no cheap CD-R with edding doodles on it.

Isn't that the Mypotian movie adaptation of Perfect Strangers?
Ha!

I watched this just for Bruno Gans (I think that is his name). I liked him in another film or two and wanted to see him in something else. Jeez, I can't believe my memory is so poor. Need more coffee.
his name is Bruno GanZ and he's a swissler ^^

cool didnt know about the original. only knew the '77 remake with roy scheider, which is also one of my fav movies back from my childhood. and a very good movie as well :)

yeah it doesn't look super satisfying compared to the original, but it is a very good start. basically the parallax seems to be the only one big hurdle, as discussed so many times before.

probably should rather become a SGFX port

the music is marvelous ^^

The Changer doesn't count.  It's just the arcade board modified with a more home user friendly test mode and a crappy S-Video only commercial supergun.
Similar to the AES.
actually not. the AES is a real hardware and plays rom carts. both MVS and AES are basically the same tho.

the CPS changer is just an adaptor to play (slightly modified) CPS-boards on a general TV-set instead in an arcade cab.

Quote from: Tatsujin on 06/15/2014, 11:22 PMhow good do the parallaxes looking?
It's just a proof of concept by one person in their spare time. It doesn't have the same variety as the original yet, but does show how it could be done.
ok, thx. it's hard to imagine if never seen any screen or movie ^^"
#284
Ah OSMAN, what a great PCE game it is, and cleary the best port of all ^^

Quote from: Medic_wheat on 06/15/2014, 04:54 PMI found that the genesis had Wonderfull ports. Great sprit work loads of color and just enough of an arcad like feel that made these feel like stand out Genesis games.

Now while I do have the super cd port of monster lair Ipmy turbo cd and duo are a but on the fritz lately so I have yet to give it the old college try.
there you will be suprised how much better it does look on the PCE once you have played both.

monster lair looks like a cheap euro home computer port compared to the PCE version, which is, beside lacking the parallax scrolling, almost faithful to the arcade (in every term). and even surpases that one with much crispier red book BGMs.

chiki has tons of more details and rarely uses cheap clipped tiles or BGs due to data limitation. also the sprites are mostly bigger and straightly take over from the arcade version, whilst on the MD everything is redrawn.
#286
how good do the parallaxes looking?
#287
clearly better on PCE:

After Burner II
Outrun
Wonderboy II Monster Lair
chiki chiki boys
forgotten worlds
lords of thunder
daimakaimura
street figher II'

Quote from: Medic_wheat on 06/12/2014, 08:44 PMThis particular reviewer went from honestly reviewing games he knew a lot about and had a connection with to adding younger people to play the more current stuff to exactly what you described.
He also expects donations for stuff he reviews and does not return them. He got upset and made a snarky comment about someone who lent him a pc engine to review and wanted it back afterwards.
Yeah I saw that video. I think it was that video or another where he made a comment about not accepting loaners but for (what ever game) he was willing to make an exception.
linkey please? man that's pure outrage if true!!

Quote from: Tatsujin on 06/13/2014, 02:09 AMwhy is it that all those peeps suddenly need a kick starter do do a book?

there were manymany books made before kickstarter and such existed.
Especially when you shoot your videos to look like you're inside Scrooge McDuck's vault.

But we're talking about someone who won't even buy a game to review it.
really sounds like Scrooge McDuck to me
#295
yeah sprash rake was hillarious., and it's true, he does't spend waste too much time on his gems, which are most probably emulation only anyway.
#296
but at least he gives some good revs to most of the excellent games.

he even likes za kan fuu!!
