I just got in this PC-98 notebook from Japan. It's a PC-9821Na13. This is one of the models that has the ability to use the FM sound a lot of games use. This is also a later model so it has a nice big screen. Usually when you see these on yahoo Japan the screens are messed up but I made sure to get one that had a nice screen. I plan on installing a Compact Flash hard drive on this. Now I have the big 4 Japanese computers- X68000, FM Towns, MSX2+ and PC-98


I also picked these up off Yahoo Japan for my wife and kids. Got all 4 for $20 which is about a quarter of what 3 goes for here in the US

Ebay says you should try to resolve an issue before leaving negative feedback. You gave multiple negatives for one seller over some cheap loose games without even contacting them. That's pretty rude. The game could have easily been cracked during shipping. Also the chances of a loose 25 year old game working perfectly every time you pop it in are pretty slim. I have some nearly new games that you have to try to get positioned right every time.  I already have your account on ebay blocked even though I hardly ever sell anything so I don't have to ever have a run in with you on there.

I've never played this before and haven't played a point and click adventure since I was a kid so this was definitely a little different for me. Best part was the death screens. There were plenty of parts that had me scratching my head as to what to do though and I feel like I missed a lot of stuff so I might play it again with a FAQ

It's been a while for me but I beat Dynastic Hero which I thoroughly enjoyed so this should get me back into the game. If you haven't played this one yet you are missing out. It's a fantastic game and one of my favorite CD games now on the system. This was the first Wonder Boy game I ever played through and now I want to play the whole series. Awesome stuff!

On a scale of 1-10 how bitter is that IPA PunkCryborg?

The best IPA I have tried is Bells : Two Hearted
And honestly it was still a little to bitter for me and that was very mild compared to some I tried.

Probably a 7/8. It's hoppy but the white oak adds a nice vanilla sweet flavor. The regular Jai Alai is already excellent and they have a very Florida citrus flavor profile

[General Gaming / Southern Turbo Fest @Free Play Florida Nov 20-22 Orlando FL]

Free Play Florida opened up a huge console room this year and put me and Owlanonymous in charge of it. Being that we are HUGE NEC fans we will of course have a ton of it out for everyone to enjoy. There has been talk for years about a Turbo meet up in the South East so here's our chance. I'd like this to be our own Southern Turbo Fest and hope to see some member of the forum there!
I'm expecting to have SuperGrafx, PCE Duo, Duo-R, TG16, PCFX, SuperCD Rom, IFU and more along with just about every other old school console, US and Japanese vintage computers, linked Steel Battalion, handhelds and everything else we can fit in out trucks and Uhaul. We are purists so expect everything to be on CRTs and RGB monitors as well.
Here's some pics of last years show, we didn't have a console area yet though. I brought several candy cabs though and will have some this year too

This was fun but got to be pretty simple once you learned how stupid the games AI is. Still would recommend since it's so cheap and has very nice cutscenes. I haven't tried the 2 player vs mode yet though. Interestingly when you play vs mode with only 1 controller, you controller both players with the same input so it is almost like Binary Land on Famicom.
I also found out there is a "high res" mode by toggling up and down while it's paused to give it an arcade style resolution or something.

But now fast forward to present behavior. We see a continued troll strategy. It appears it'll be to drag focus away from his crazed, emotional, PMS-vaginal overreaction to a perfectly civil opinion on the movie in question, and try to focus on his mark/target to repetitiously repeat the same charge of psychopath, in other words, not only will he not apologize, he instead is digging in and this could be due to several reasons. It may be his arrogance/bigotry/pride is so far gone, it's literally impossible for him to admit any wrongdoing and/or he is revealing traits of a genuine sociopath, etc. He hopes others will seriously take the bait in this strategy and engage with him to aid in this whole pathetic, immature, petty exchange he caused!

I think this whole sad and embarrassing incident on Snapperhead Chad's part brings up a good tangent discussion on the nature of trolls. Just so happens that a new article on The Washington Compost went up where they did a study to answer the question of what makes them so nasty. It's not detailed, but I think it applies well in his case. Let's take a took!

Hmmm, yessss, interesting. So according to the graphic, sadism was the top reason for trolling. I think that might be on to something with Snapperhead Chad here I'm afraid... I'd add arrogance, bigotry, egomania, nerd pride, etc. The most striking thing I would say here is that he demonstrates clear characteristics of a sociopath. It's looking like it would be IMPOSSIBLE for him to admit/comprehend/process that he did/said anything wrong from A to B if you assumed he wasn't trolling and this was all serious - that would be the fundamental problem here. I was thinking earlier that simple nerd pride is what makes it impossible for him to admit any over-the-top wrongdoing, but the real reason might just be much worse as mentioned... We'll never know for sure I suppose. Ah well. :/ The troll aspect to his behavior is 100% though.

There's nothing worth thinking about here.  When you insult someone, especially for an asinine reason like this, it's always going to rub them the wrong way.

Everyone deals with things like this differently.  For example, when Zeta implied I was a racist for not wanting to play a visual novel in Japanese, a language I cannot read or speak, I just shrugged it off.  Some people are just more vocal than others.

Yeah, I'm understanding better the feeling of another PCEFX member who refers to him as "a piece of shit keyboard warrior." I'm bothered by the fact that I stood up for him and referred to his informative posts on gaming at times as a defense and that he is a valuable member. I failed to see him for the piece of shit that he is and it took this exchange to do so, thus I feel a bit foolish. It bothered me enough to go back and tell that person he was right all along and to laugh with me at this thread! I try to correct my shit when possible, so yeah, this is not somebody I would ever defend again.

Basically, SnapperChad jumped the shark for me... He went full retard, and as Robert Downing Jr. taught us, you never go full retard... Your career cannot recover in the aftermath and so I'll never look at him the same way again to be quite honest. One reason I considered the possibility is because I watched it in Japanese with English subtitles, so watching it for the sake of the English dubs would've given me a replay reason, but f--k that shit now... I think Grave of the Fireflies was excellent but it's not really my favorite Ghibli movie and I probably would never watch it again. I've seen it 2 or 3 times which is enough for me. Which of the other Ghibli movies did you like? Did you see Princess Mononoke and Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (pre ghibli)?

And finaly the creme de la crop a legit Japanese USAAF mustang PCB. This is a cool NMK/UPL WWII shoot em up with killer music. The music wasn't working in MAME till about a month ago when this board popped up. Super cool and fun shoot em up!
