12/23/2024: Localization News - Team Innocent

PC-FX Localization for Team Innocent is released, a pre-Christmas gift!! In a twist, it feels like the NEC PC-FX got more attention in 2024 than any other time I can remember! Caveat: The localizers consider the "v0.9" patch a BETA as it still faces technical hurdles to eventually subtitle the FMV scenes, but they consider it very much playable.

Quote from: Senshi on 05/16/2014, 08:59 PMI know you said you don't want to mod it but get a Duo R/Rx and have it modded to play american Hucards. You'll thank me later.
Yeah the white original is nice.  But for better output, get the AV Booster for it.

Quote from: Joe Redifer on 12/26/2013, 03:06 AMAs much as I love Soldier Blade, its graphics are quite sparse. One thing I tend not to enjoy about shooters like that is that there's way too many stages that take place in space. And space is pretty boring in videogames. Just some boring multiscrolling white dots and maybe a structure you're flying over. At least spice it up with a big-ass nebula or the side of a moon/planet or something. Add some color. Add some detail. Add some visual interest. You've already got the gameplay and the music down perfectly, why stop there?

Bottom line: Stage 1 or 2 should NEVER be a space stage, because those stages make the first impressions. You don't want everyone to think of a boring-ass black stage with a boring-ass structure pasted on top of it every time you hear "Soldier Blade" like I do.
I can see your point there but......... the first two levels of Layer Section are awesome.  Man I love that game , probably my all time fav shooter.  Soldier Blade vote for me.

Got myself one of these:

Must say the build quality is very nice.

Edit: Woops(?), my graphics card showed up.

Got a sealed copy of Paranoia!  :D

Bikkuriman World when you get a perfect round, LOVE that fruit machine sound.  Legendary AXE has some cool tunes.
#6
Hmm,  I wonder of Windex would discolor the plastic eventually.

Thanks for the responses guys.  Whisky? LOL, what's your poison Tatsujin?  I tend to stick to Blue/Black Label.  I see that some have have answered about cleaning contacts, how about cleaning the art work on the card?  Esteban's and FiftyQuid's answers seem "sound."  I know rubbing alcohol will remove paint; I've tried and the paint was almost gone :(.  About the paint scratching off, I had those Hucards in a 3rd party plastic sleeve.  Perhaps the plastic (acid?) ate the glossy finish hence why it was so easy to scratch off the art work.  Almost traumatizing really.  Made me feel funny about Hucards overall.
#9
I have a few hucards that are dirty and would love to clean the art work.  I've tried water and it doesn't do much.  Is there any cleaner that would be safe to use without damaging the paint?  Also, is it just me or do some hucards have lower quality paint than others.  I have a few, such as Shubibinman 2 that you can easily scratch the paint off the art

=P~ Please ME ME ME!  Cheers  O:)  Good Luck Everyone.
#11
Thanks Sirhcman, I'll check it out.

I just want a mint copy.  I could drop like $80-$100 on eBay but I am worried about it's condition (bad experiences in the past).  I'm hoping someone reputable here can sell me a spare.
#13
Willing to pay about $75 or so including shipping.  Come on guys  8-[
#14
Would love to get my hands on a mint/very good complete copy.  Will pay instantly using paypal. If willing to sell, please provide a final price including shipping.  Only from USA or Canada please as I don't want to spend too much on shipping.

Thanks guys!

That happened to me before.  Realized it was actually my PCE.  I checked the pins where you plug the pad in and found that one was ever so slightly bent.  I also cleaned socket with alcohol and straightened the questionable pin.  Have not had one problem since.  It used to bother the crap out of me, especially when playing my first game on the PCE ever, The Kun Fu. I was like, WTF kind of crazy controls are these.  I suppose if your other pads work this might not mean anything, but some pads may be pickier than others.

They would be so rokken in TG colors and HuChip tunes.
I totally agree on Cave Story and N+.  Now I would love to also see a sidescrolling God of War, a Rayman game, Jet Set Radio sidescroller, Megaman 9, 10, Bit Trip Runner....... so many choices

Hello Folks !  :D

Looking for a mint Core Grafx or Core II Grafx System with original cables and controller pad.  Doesn't need to come with the original box.  Will pay through PayPal.

Lighten up Zeta.... Pointless posts? I don't care?  Now you are sounding like a spoilt youngin' .  Good point Esteban  =D> but I want to be like Zeta when I grow up and smoke a pipe, JK lol.

I'm using this power supply:

imgur.com/p7UvF.png

Anyway, if I can somehow prove it with a thermometer device or something I will.  My PCE and SS (Model: HST-0005L; original power, bought brand new) run a little hot without it.  Your SS really does not even run warm as you say?  That's hard to believe.  Have you touched it on the left ....  I mean the frigging thing has a fan and all but it must run some what warm.  One question to whomever knows, could it be possible that my sockets are giving out more than they should; does electricity run the same in every home?
#20
That's not what I meant by saying that....... You are thinking much too hard on this temp thing from one angle....

Backup my claim?  ](*,)....   I can only give you direct observation--using my hand. For instance today, I played Adventure Island for two hours straight. The system was not even warm to the touch.  Before using the converter, my PCE felt rather hot.  I had been using the PCE for about a year without a converter and didn't care until the day I actually felt the left side after a gaming session.  Anyway, i could care less about explaining anymore, i'm pretty happy  :)
#22
=; hold on.  Give me a pass? You ain't nothing but a pompous bigot.  Considering that I actually work with disabled people, you are quite the twonk for saying that.  Again not wishing anything here but I'd hate to see your face if your child is born disabled or your children's children.

Anyway as far as temperature; you ever touch something hot and something not so much? Not much to it really.
#23
I guess that's how these forums are.  It's kind of like a brotherly thing huh?  My first topic and i'm cyber bullied , jk.  Sorry guys if I went on a rant. This is the only forum I come to for the PCE.  I love the PCE and it's one of the only two things I would actually lick the slot on   I'll admit, I love my games way more than I should; i'm thirty years old, marr........  I feel like an open can now, damn
#24
 Oh boy...... what more can we expect from a forum with such riffraff.  Hot flashes? Stick a rag in it. As for you Sherlock, I would suggest staying off your meds as you are clearly in a delusional world of your own for thinking your word is law.  What did you do, empirical research during those 13 years? Ahem..  If you haven't been using these systems in conjunction with a step-down then how can you even give an opinion?  I've actually got 3 years over you with my Saturn and believe otherwise.  Moreover when did I suggest that not using a converter will definitely cause issues? I use it as a precaution as it may very well prolong components. Not to wish it on you, but your SS may bite the dust tomorrow, mine might too, but taking the extra effort by using a system in optimal conditions is not illogical.
#25
After using the step-down for a couple of months now, I am pretty happy.  PCE is definitely running cooler as is my Saturn.

Hahaha! Clash gave me a great idea (and of course Tatsujin); had to be done.

Yeah must be, it's my only one too.  It definitely looks like it was played but is almost in mint condition.  Bugs me out.  I have another copy anyway. Always wanted to peel that cover off to look at it although that would be pointless considering my skill with boards.
#32
Hey Starfighter, I haven't tried this out (on the iPad dropping a Richard 3rd), but there should be sprite rippers, if you don't mind getting yer hands dirty.  Saw this link, hope it works although they say Magic Engine has a capability.

Ha knowing me, I would put a sleeve on it (picky git).
#34
Hmmmm what's funny is that I have the same game not working either... :-k

It looks pretty cool; I actually hesitated to do it to my non-working copy as I didn't like the art.  I wonder why some games -  :-({|= - just die.  I tried everything too when it came DOA.

I would get a longer chain so that it can hang down more and freely.

Is it me or has this topic brought out the magic in shooters that gamers love.  Man, OK... ahem I've had a few 8-[ who wants to do a top ten shooters of all time list?  :-$ it will be our secret.
#40
I better check Final Blaster & Xevious out, thanks!  :D
#41
Are there any shooters on the PCE that the AI improves the better you do (points, power ups, no deaths etc)?  I know Battle Garegga and Layer Section do this.
#42
Bah forget cave games, the real big hits on the Sega Saturn are Radiant Silvergun, Layer Section, Battle Garegga, Batsugun (ok some of Toaplan formed Cave) and Soukyugurentai.  Layer Section is unbelievable.  The music is the best, the gameplay is challenging, the weapon system while simple just feels right, and there are no bombs to save your ass.  The graphics are gorgeous and reminds me of old school shooters but jazzed up.  Watch some vids and tell me if this game ain't epic.

Off to play Einhander; gotta love the techno soundtrack.  To the guy who doesn't like horizontal, come on Gradius V was the Shizuoka (iPAD inserted that one :-s)
#43
I hear ya.  If you had not previously experienced the Saturn and are an avid shooter fan, getting hooked on it right now is completely understandable.  If you love shooters, you owe it to yourself to try a Saturn one day guys. What sux is the prices going up.  Man, i love shooters, my "best" genre of them all.
#44
Jumped too fast, I suppose you already have Layer Section, but what a frigging game, the music is just crazy (good).  I strongly believe you will find a need for Hu shooters again.  They may look simple but they will always have a certain magic.  I mean look at Soldier Blade and Parodius, they certainly warrant some attention.
#45
Bah [-(  I got my Jap Sega Saturn 10 years ago and I've got all those games plus more (have since appreciated in price)  You MUST get RS and Layer Section(best on SS).  But having said that, I got my PCE about 2 years ago and absolutely LOVE the shooters.  There is just something about them and the media, love them f'ing HUs!  The SS and the PCE are a shooter fans heaven so consider yourself privileged.  Nothing like playing some RS, then Layer Section Then finishing up with......... =; Violent Soldier
#46
=; I sometimes do find those hot ones that I feel bad to break in to, even though they have already lost their innocence (Madonna any one?) But boy, I never put flange on a pedestal.  Hucards? Hell yeah! I worship thee [-o<

Thanks for the responses.  I guess I will stick with the slight inclination method.  Neogeo.com? Ha my neo geo carts actually have marks too, but they are not as ugly as the ones on the hucards .  Just want to keep them HUs in good shape...
