@GTV reviews the Cosmic Fantasy 1-2 Switch collection by Edia, provides examples of the poor English editing/localization work. It's much worse for CF1. Rated "D" for disappointment, finding that TurboGrafx CF2 is better & while CF1's the real draw, Edia screwed it up...

Quote from: Samurai Ghost on 06/28/2012, 11:37 PMAlso I see you have Hokuto no Ken in there. Do you have a Mark III or JP SMS or a converter for something else? I love Hokuto no Ken for the SMS but I have to say Black Belt is almost better because they kept the parallax scrolling from the first level in most of the game. Plus some other changes that make it worth owning both versions.
I have a Japanese SMS with a US converter. I watched a good chunk of Hokuto No Ken recently and loved it, there's 3 Hokuto No Ken games in that lot actually. That's my first Mark III game though. I have a pretty decent SMS collection but would like to replace most of it with the Mark III versions over time.

I got my dream sunglasses today. 1980s Cazal 951's. These are somewhat of a holy grail among gaudy 80s sunglass collectors.

I'm a big fan of the Egyptian Lover who wore these a lot in the 80s

dude some cool picture ideas would be like a sweet Lamborghini Countach or Kate Moss in a bathing suit in the 1990s in the background. That would go well with the retro 90s look of your webpage.
Or the dancing baby.

I just picked this game up for cheap and thought it looked interesting. I started playing it tonight and I have been enjoying it! It's like Ys III meets Rygar with muzak.
It's a platformer with a strict time limit per level with a boss every couple stages. Your character has a weapon that can be upgraded by collecting colored spheres. The enemies are a little cheap but have predictable patterns. The Graphics are nothing special but the stages are quite colorful so it makes for a nice looking game. The anime cutscenes are very colorful and well animated. The music is straight up elevator music but it doesn't get annoying and is very well composed.
It always surprises me at how many PCE games there are that you never here about. There is no Japanese text at all so it's completely playable by anyone with two thumbs.  I would recommend picking this game up if you can get it for $15 or less.
Has anyone else played this? PCEDAI only lists 1 user as clearing this game and it seems like a fun game to try and clear.

I've been looking for a badass 80s boom box forever and I finally found one I like! It's pretty dirty and needs some TLC but I think I can clean it really nice!

I just played a ton of Hector '87. It's a fantastic game. The 2 minute mode is challenging with lots of secrets. The regular game is pretty unique. It switches from vert to hori on different levels. This is definitely worth picking up. I think I got the Fami version for $4 and I've seen the NES version for around the same price

WOW I just found out my beloved Bass has been produced in the US for the last couple months. I haven't been drinking too much beer lately and as sipping on one earlier and noticed the label change. WTF now I think it tasted different and it will never be the same. I've always made jokes about the Limey's using water from the Thames river to give Bass its unique flavor.
WHY DO PEOPLE HAVE TO DESTROY PERFECTION

all i was asking  was if somebody had come with a clever way to expand its use to HuCards. its all :/
Quote from: SignOfZeta on 03/24/2012, 03:40 PMAh yes, for cart systems with cardboard boxes. I see.

Personally I just leave them that way since that generic foggy plastic just ends up taking up more space and over time gets so scratched up it becomes even more foggy...The carts themselves are much nicer looking.

So what is the point of these things exactly? They are less attractive and less durable than the thing they are protecting. Have any of you gone so far off the deep end you put the Universal Game Cases into even larger Universal Game Case Cases or maybe bought plastic bags for your cases which contain other cases which contain games?

Is this in your living room?:

IMG
I said my HuCards were loose. Just wanted them to put them in boxes...
Just ignore his comments, he doesn't like anything...
I think it's a nice way to spruce up your loose carts if you print some cool inserts for them

There is also a portable Saturn that must be made by the same guy. The Saturn car logo on top is hilarious!

Wow I just got Jackie Chan on NES and it is AWESOME! This is now one of my top 10 NES games. The platforming is great, the levels are challenging and diverse and is very Hudsony. Like some levels are like Monster Lair and scrolling. The sprites are nice and big, almost looks like a PCE game. Also has excellent music.

Quote from: elabit on 01/25/2012, 02:24 PMSuper D, next time you are in a H.O. you should look for something called a tripod
Illegal in Japan... :(
Why the hell would a tripod be illegal?
Panic ban after the accident... :(
I am seriously confused about this. Is there something I just don't know or just fooling about?
To be more specific you need to have a license to purchase one legally.
That is F$&*# crazy man!!!

I would just improvise someway.
Nah, improvised tripods constitutes the manufacture of illicit goods. You might as well be cooking up heroin in your living room. Not a good idea in Japan.
Saying tripods are illegal in Japan is like saying "you're mom" is illegal in Manitoba. Ridiculous.
Pretty sure incest is illegal in most states, but don't let that spoil your fun.
That's not what I meant. You know the dumb phrase, "you're mom"? I was just being stupid.

They made so many awesome games for so many systems. What is your favorite? What should have had a PCE release?

Mine would be Bulk Slash on Saturn. Imagine if this had a PCFX release with anime cut scenes in between levels! It would've been one of the best releases for it! It's great on the Saturn though. I'm not usually into 3d games like this but this one is so much fun. I've probably played this more than any other Saturn game. I just can't beat the final boss yet!
