GOG is the only way to go. Valve can shove Steam and DRM up their posterior cavities. I've got 266 GOG titles and counting. Love their sales events. Find some real gems for $5.00 and less. Ok, sorry... back on topic. :-"

Quote from: esteban on 03/11/2013, 06:27 PMDEAR LORD, why should I even bother playing this game? :pcgs:

Quote from: Mishran on 03/11/2013, 10:33 AMI never intend to put that much effort into it. Play a quick game once every few years just so I get my money's worth out of it. I was just surprised to not see a high score thread for it. I figured it needed once so here we are. :)
STATUS: This is what you say now, but, five years hence, you and I will both talk about turning over the score counter TWICE and unlocking the OMAKE Arkhan buried deep in the game (a recreation of the shoot-em-up stage from Shadow of the Beast, but in the Egyptian Pyramid Plunderin' universe).
Been five years esty, any luck unlocking OMAKE? Haven't touched the game myself since because, as you had stated, what's the point.

Just received my copy yesterday. Haven't had a chance to play it yet, but looking forward to it. You guys never cease to amaze. Congrats on another amazing release!

I play quite frequently and have a friend looking to start. What have you got. A list and pics would be helpful.

Sanitarium and the first Amnesia on the PC are really good games for this time of year. Sanitarium is one of those little known games that turns out to be a real gem. Amnesia was the only "horror" game that ever really made me scared to play it in the dark. I remember the first time playing it. Rounded the corner of a hallway and ran face first into a monster. At that very moment my cat jumped up on the entertainment center knocking a picture to the ground behind me. Scared me so bad that I nearly pissed myself. Good times, great games.

Quote from: Gredler on 08/30/2017, 07:05 PMSonic Mania - I really like it and it plays just like the old 16 bit sonics. It feels most similar to a mix between 3 and CD, but graphically it looks like a higher frame count color count Sonic 2 and CD. I liked the old sonics, and like this one too - a great addition to my switch library choices. I wish there was a physical version, but I am glad to have it at all and wanted to support the devs for their great effort.
Still holding out hope for a possible cart release of Sonic Mania. Doubt it'll ever happen, but I'm gonna wait a few months longer and if none materializes, I'll likely pick up the download version.

Quote from: Mishran on 08/29/2017, 07:04 PMRecently picked up Cave Story and Has-been Heroes. Cave Story I really enjoyed. HB Heroes, not so much. Looking forward to Mario Odyssey and plan on picking up Skyrim when it releases. Been years since I played through Skyrim and want to give another run through. Splatoon is on my pickup list as well.

Personally, I feel the offerings for Switch has been less than great, but hope thing turn around next year. Year one always tends to be the low point for releases.
Cave Story was really great on the Switch. So many choices for soundtracks and it controlled really well. Plus it's getting (or already has gotten) updates for 2p mode and a few other things. Though, I'm still stuck on the final boss.
I've been stuck on the final boss in the original Cave Story on my Wii for nearly eight years! He's a bastard and the devs should've dialed the difficulty back on him some.
I played at the default difficulty and was able to beat him on the first try. Perhaps I just got lucky. I was down to my last half life bar when I won, so I basically barely won. Was definitely a good game and will be  trying on a harder difficulty at some point.

Last time I was at TMG was when it was in Reading. Might have to check it out this year. Only two hours from me. Thanks for posting about it; as I had completely forgotten that TMG even exists. I've picked up many Turbo games there for really good prices.

Yes, you'll get the opportunity to do so at the Hateno tech lab.

Quote from: DragonmasterDan on 03/28/2017, 12:53 PMI have been super busy the past few days and haven't had a chance to play much. But I've finally learned how to more easily kill guardians by parrying which has opened up a whole lot of new areas of the map to me.
I spam the time stop ability with them, then run up and take out the legs. If your lucky, you can overturn them and make things so much easier.

70% of the completion percentage is korok seeds, and there are 900.
900??? Good one Nintendo, you always did excel in the completely ridiculous. Best of luck to anyone attempting to hunt them all down.

The system is worth owning just for Twisted. Put a good many hours into PO'ed and Killing Time. There was another fairly decent FPS about a haunted mansion, though the name escapes me. The system had its share of gems, but had an assload of stinkers as well.

I received an email back in July which I had replied to, but I haven't seen any demo disc. I'll just have to wait for the ISO release I suppose. Game definitely look great. Looking forward to the release.

Finally picked up a game controller for the first time in months. Been too busy working and having a blast playing airsoft during my far to little free time. Just started playing Xenoblade Chronicles X which I picked up new for $30 at Target a few months ago and so far have been performing very poorly. Either major grinding is necessary for progression or I'm doing something wrong.

Hop on now and then to read posts during lunch at work, but don't find the time or interest to post on here very often obviously. Hopefully that'll change, but its unlikely.

Added 13 more MVS games from my collection. Also found various MVS mini marquees and paperwork I forgot I had. If there is any interest in them, I can post a list. Some go to the games I have for sale, so they'll be included with the games when sold.

Quote from: guest on 06/07/2016, 01:14 PMI remember RetroUSB used to have adapters for Turbobs, but everything else I recall seeing is DIY.
Have one of the RetroUSB installed into a TG16 controller that originally had a bad cord. Controls work great, but the I and II button turbo is erratic. Still happy with the results. Unfortunate he decided to discontinue it.

Maniac Mansion for NES. Still a great game.

Is it just a coincidence that this is all popping up so close to April 1st? :-k

I know I can't be the only one who thought about this. People have gone to great length for April Fool's jokes in the past, so who knows. Guess we'll know tomorrow.

Quote from: SignOfZeta on 03/24/2015, 03:23 PMI only have a 6 year old Macbook. It had a Windows 7 partition specifically for things like this, but I deleted it when I realized I hadn't booted into it in a year.

I have a couple of really terrible PCs that I only keep around for running Substation Alpha. I haven't a clue to their gaming potential.

I enjoy video games.
I think you are over estimating the requirements for Unreal Tournament GOTY. Any low budget Windows XP machine could run it as long as the cpu is in the 800mhz range and the graphics card is on par with a Nvidia TNT or ATI Rage 128. This includes gpu's like the onboard Intel Extreme graphics. If someone had something like an old Dell laying around, odds are the Dell would run the game fine if the Dell is from 2000 on up.

At any rate, just strikes me as odd that people would get by without a pc in the home. I mean yeah, it can be done, but personally I hate trying to type on tablets and phones, let alone do normal web browsing and online purchases on them. Even for casual use that feels painful to me. I guess though if thats all you got, then thats all you got. If anyone does care to do so though, you can buy cheap Athlon 64 and Core2Duo computers on ebay now. Would make good Xp legacy machines for old games.
I had a 400Mhz/512MB PC back when UT was released and it played the game just fine with a 64mb 3DFX card installed. Ultima 9 on the otherhand hated that PC. I even played through the Half-Life games with that setup with little trouble.

I also got my items in the mail. Just as mentioned already, they were packed to survive the dangers of the postal system.

Anyone remember the Nintendo cereal from the late 80's? Two half size bags of different cereal types per box. Great idea at the time, too bad it never stuck.
#26
I'm with everyone else with Nesticle and Genecyst. I remember the team who made them also made a cool Streets of Rage style beat em up game that I played the shit out of. Magic Engine was my third emu. I think it was version 0.8 at that time? Had the emus and bunch of games zipped up and filling up floppies. Memories...

What were you asking for the C64? I've been looking for a good priced system to mess around with. Always wanted one, though not sure why...

Since finding working software is getting harder and its near impossible to transfer images to real media it seems rather pointless to own, but I still want one. :-k

Can't help that I'm a retard.

I've gotten the game recently and would be interested in joining a game or ten. Same name and available weekend evenings.

Buy/Sell/Trade / Re: WTB Mysterious Song
10/23/2014, 03:04 PM
So nothing to warrant a second purchase aside from collectard purposes?

What are these major errors you mentioned Rover? I, as well as many others have completed the game without running into any problems, so they would be more or less random occurrences? This, admittedly, is the first I've heard of any problems with the game so if it was mentioned about before, I missed it.

Out of curiosity Ark, have you started making the ROM available to people yet? I remember you saying about notifying folks when they are, but wasn't sure if it hasn't happened yet or if I might have been missed. I'm sure you guys are likely also busy making the cards too.

Quote from: TheClash603 on 10/11/2014, 04:18 PMDid you get Smash 3DS yet?  I am going to pick it up today and I am pretty pumped to give it a try.  The demo had a lot of promise.
I played the demo and was definitely pleased. I have a 2DS and I had some difficulty with some of the moves. There isn't really anything to grip onto when holding it, so the system slid around in my hands when I was slamming the controls around. Had to resort to squeezing the system between my palms to support it which gave me a cramp. Wasn't fun.

Honestly its the first new game I've played in a long time that was so fun it made me laugh and giggle like a little kid again.
I haven't had the chance to play Super Mario World 3D but everyone I know who has are saying it's the best Mario game in easily 20 years.

Must play.....

Buy/Sell/Trade / WTB a few capacitors
09/27/2014, 09:49 PM
As the topic states, I'm looking for a handful of caps. Don't need to be anything great, just wanting to get a few more years out of my aging Macintosh LC. I could go straight to an online dealer or help someone on here out by taking a few unused caps off their hands. Voltage doesn't have to be exact, but as close as possible above recommended.

Here is what I need:
1uf 50v x1
10uf 16v x8
47uf 16v x5
100uf 6v x1

Just give me a quote with shipping to 17316. Thanks.

That happened to me when playing Bonks Revenge recently. I saw the outlines of the hearts in you life bar for a couple hours after. Had me worried till it went away. My TV is and LCD that I bought this past black friday, so it can happen on newer TVs too.
