Localization Legend "Supper the Subtitler" has "joined the club" in being targeted for CD-pressings by bootleg master Tobias/PCEWorks! His projects like Private Eyedol, Galaxy Fräulein Yuna 1 & 2, etc. are now being sold on Chinese factory-pressed CDROMs...

General Gaming / Re: Phantasy Star III
11/06/2009, 01:37 PM
I beat this game back in the day.  When first playing it, I thought the music was annoying.  It was interested how throughout the game they added an additional layer to the music.  By the end of the game, the music sounded awesome.  The battle music was a little annoying as well.  But overall I thought it was a great game, and it's got replay value which is rare on an RPG.  I really did like the generations idea.  I should get back into it again sometime.

I would have to say that III is the second best PS game for the Genesis.  I think II was good, but just too damn repetitive, and all the levels looked the same.  I feel that IV was the best, I still need to finish that game.  Just so much more attention to detail in the game, and the vehicles are pretty cool also.

What's the absolute lowest you would go on the dog bone, shipped?

PM RoyVegas, I think he's got one for sale.

Also, I believe OldSchoolGamer has one for sale as well.
#154
Unless it comes with a GBA Cart slot, I don't really care..  lol.

I still think the DS Lite is the best version of the DS, although I am partial to my phat.
#155
I've been a Lunar fan since it was new.  This version looks delicious, I might just have to finally get a PSP.
#156
Windancer, RoyVegas, and I played through Keith Courage one night, and the glitch happened to us as well.  What actually triggers that?  We smoked him.

Son Son II

#158
Interesting, I kind of like how it looks actually.  Another price drop or four and I might consider.   :-k

Quote from: BlackandBlue on 08/12/2009, 12:50 AMPicked up MUSHA (cart only), Thunder Force II (complete) and Phelios (complete) for the Sega Genesis last week.  Took forever to find a copy of MUSHA that didnt cost a bagillion dollars, like on Ebay.
All great games, SPECIALLY PHELIOS!!  Just love that game!
#161
Looks like it hit pretty much $300 bucks.

Interesting to see M&M III go for so much.
#162
There are some differences we noticed, and yes it does seem QUITE difficult, we cannot get past the second stage of levels!

Overall the graphics/sound are better than the PCE/TG16 version.  Also, in between some stages you see some hand drawn cartoon looking guy that we can't tell what he's saying to you.

Roy, I think you need to add to this thread?
#163
Nice, I love the Alien series, probably one of my favorites of all time.  (except for AvP).  It'll be interesting to see the story before the first Alien.

Quote from: RoyVegas on 08/04/2009, 01:39 PMAh and speaking of moving them.  I want to thank Windancer and Oldskool for helping me unload them and get them into my house!
You are quite welcome!
#165
This has got to be physically the largest "what did you buy today" post ever!
#166
I love R-Type, but have not tried these versions of it yet.  I wish they'd just release another traditional version.
#167
Yeah I watched this a few days ago myself!  DAMN I cannot wait, that's definetely a must see at the theaters!!
#168
Yeah that's what I was wondering too.
#169
Nice job, I can beat this game, but not in super mode.  Congrats!!
#170
It goes, Oldskool, RoyVegas, and Windancer.
#171
That Neutopia cake sounds very cool!  The cake people are gonna start thinking we are crazy..  I think the ladies already do!
#172
LOL, we had to be considerate, ladies were present.  But next time, it's going down!!!
#173
Don't forget the Sangria
#174
Somehow Risingstuff managed to ship me a Duo -R, with 3 games, a duo -r controller, and an Ave -6 pad for $200 shipped.  I wonder how they made anything on it all if the shipping really costs that much
#175
Dang, that's a nice lot you got there, too bad you didnt attempt to sell separetely first..  I would have been interested in a few things..
#176
Dammit, I would so get that!!!

Fighting Street / Fighting Street SUCKS
04/09/2009, 04:33 PM
This area of the website is useless.  Why should the NEC community degrade itself like this?  We are better than this!  Why should we stoop down to the level of the rest of the Internet.  The NEC community will falter if we continue this path.  This is the first and last post for me in Fighting Street.
#178
We have a Wii, and Wii are going to get that game!  I love Boy and his Blob!  Love the videos, looks fun,  beautiful art work too.
#179
Got an X'Eye from this guy.  He's legit.
#180
Damn too bad you were looking a couple months ago, I sold one for mere dollars.
#181
I appreciate the concern!  Duo is right, I have shifted my focus to the PC Engine.  It's just so much better in so many ways.
#183
All items have been sold.  My US TG16 collection is no more!  Thanks everyone for looking.
#184
I've shipped stuff to Canada before, it's not much more than shipping in the US.  Usually it's just the seller ripping them off.
#185
Brazilians and their Segas!  LOL.
#186
When I ripped Lord's Of Thunder's soundtrack to my computer, the online based CD information database or whatever says it's Satoshi Miyashita.

http://vgmdb.net/artist/1527

Click here, and then click "play now" to hear Satoshi play R-Type Special.  Sounds sort of Joe Satriani with a beat!

Was this guy part of T's music?

Quote from: Duo_R on 03/06/2009, 12:15 AMOS hooked me up with a good price. I am 1 game away from completing the Soldier collection for the Turbografx (getting import Final Soldier from Risingstuff)! Thanks again OS!
No problem.  I am going to get it again, but for PCE.
#188
I sold a copy for $25 to Duo_r.
#189
This should be in the Turbografx section.  Good luck on finding that.
#190
There's a PC Engine Duo -R with 25 or so games on Ebay @ only 160 bucks or so with only 1 day left on Ebay.  Might keep an eye on that deal.  Not sure if that would work in UK, but it may end up being a great deal.

Here's one way to sale a modded console on Ebay.  It has "C-video", and the second to last picture has a pic of the mod, but the connector is "darkened".  Seems to have worked for him, it's not been pulled yet.

I have an FC Twin that I plan on breaking the tabs off.  It plays SNES and SFC games perfectly to the originals.  (The NES side not so perfect).  I wanna do this on the FC so that I don't have to permanently break something off the SNES.

Quote from: SignOfZeta on 02/20/2009, 01:00 PMUnless you are obsessed with authenticity you should just buy the Radio Shack #273-1771. Its 9V 1000mA, and you just pick whichever tip you need from the shelf when you buy it. Its just about the only aftermarket power supply you can easily get nowadays that will supply so much current. Also, its white, like the system, which not even the NEC one is.

BTW, there is a good chance that a genuine Duo R/RX power supply will just crap out on you a month later since they are all getting quite old at this point.
Mine still works.  Actually I've never seen/heard of a PSU going bad.  Even my genuine Atari 2600 adapter still works.

Got the game, thanks!
#196
Got it finally today!  Thanks, the game looks practically new!
#197
Soldier Blade and the Turbo Booster Plus have been SOLD!
#198
If you don't see one here, then no one is probably selling at the moment.  Your best bet is to check out www.risingstuff.com

I got my loose Duo -R from them.  And the shipping was not bad at all, and fairly quick coming from Japan.

If they don't have it in stock, PM Sensei or Alex and they'll find one for ya.

This one looks close, but I am not sure if it will work..
http://www.jameco.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=10001&catalogId=10001&productId=29410&

The problem I am having, is that I am finding the 8 pin din right angle PCB mount female connectors, it's just that the pins where they mount into the PCB seem slightly different..  I am having a hard time telling if it's going to work or not with the pictures that I have..
