I remember playing Sidearms at a local convenience store when I was a kid, a few years before the TG16 was launched in the US. But I had no idea it was on the C64 as well. I found this while going through a big lot of stuff I recently picked up.

[PCE/TG-16|CD/SGX Discussion / Japanese Vasteel vs. US Vasteel?]

I'd love to pick up Vasteel, but don't feel like paying the ridiculous prices for it on eBay.
Can anyone tell me if the Japanese version makes the game play more difficult if I don't know Japanese? Or is the storyline removed enough that it is still fun to play?

I've been absent from here for quite some time. I sold off my collection almost a year ago, and regretted it almost instantly.
I have now decided to start over, soon. Working on getting money together. I am not sure if I want to go ahead and get a basic system right now, or just wait to get another clean Duo from Keith Courage later when I have all the money together (and when he has one available).

Can't wait to start playing some classic games again.

So, up for sale is a PC Engine Duo that has been modded to play NA & Japanese games (work done by Keith Courage on here). The system was also gone through and had any bad caps replace and the CD drive was maintained. Power and TV cables included. This system is ready to go.

Along with the system comes an adapter/extension cable that allows you to use TG16 controllers. There is also a turbo tap and five controllers.

There are also 21 games, 17 of which come complete in case. 4 are hucards only.

When I bought my Duo from Mr. Keith Courage, I asked for an S-video connection. He installed one for me, and sent an S-video to RCA connection cord. I'm fine with that but am wondering if there is a way to connect the duo as it is to my TV S-video to S-video? I know I'll need an audio hookup, but can that be spliced into an s-video cable?

I was walking around a HUGE flea market thing. There were a bunch of booths/tables/sellers all around. I ran across a table full of stacks of loose hucards, mostly PCE/Japanese versions. I grabbed a handful of them, then some kid stopped me and showed me a sealed copy of something. Then I left the table and woke up.

Guess now I need to go find a huge flea market, and make my dream come true.

On some games, the music gets to be a little monotonous for me while playing. Especially if it is a game like Military madness, where there are 4 songs to listen to...over and over again.

Do you listen to any other music besides the game's music?

In my hay-day, I used to listen to Led Zeppelin while playing Military Madness, and Faith No More while playing Neutopia. Those are the only two that stick out in my memory from a long time ago for some reason.

I remember growing up, playing Commodore 64 games with my brother, we would listen to Kix, TnT, MSG and Bulletboys.

I'm looking for some good strategy games for the PC Engine/Duo. I'm thinking along the lines of Lords of the Rising sun, Vasteel, Military Madness kind of games.

Bored at work. So I'm wondering what every one else does for a job/career. How do you make those fat stacks?

Me, my actual title is Print Specialist. I buy printed materials, do some graphic design work, am getting into account management and pretty much any other thing that needs to be done. I work for a small agency and we are contracted to one large corporation. I actually have an office in that corporations building. I am hoping one day that corporation will offer me a job. As much as I hate the corporate world, I would rather have a job with them then with the agency I am at due to the unstableness of the agency.

I enjoy my job. I am really good at it. I like the challenges from time to time. I get to sit at a desk, listen to my music on my computer and close my office door. What more could I ask for? I get paid pretty decently for this area. And I get 5 weeks of vacation. Not a lot to complain about. 

So how about you all? What do you do to afford fantastic TG16 games?
