2/13/2025: Localization News - Cosmic Fantasy 3-4!

Rather earth-shattering news in the PC Engine / TurboGrafx-16 community: Cosmic Fantasy 3 & 4 has been officially localized to English by Edia 30 years later for the Switch! Hard to believe! I know their script quality is poor given the 1&2 port but still good to see.

There absolutely should be a database for this.
I would like to nominate IMPOSSAMOLE as the first entrant.  What an abysmal game that was.  [-(

I think you may be correct.
Kind of an odd product tie-in.
I do recall my Landstalker cartridge and manual smelling like artificial strawberry for some time.
Mine currently smells a little smokey I think.
Hmm.  I hate that.
I know I'd definitely prefer the artificial fruit scent

*** SOLD SOLD SOLD *****

-------------------------------------------------------------

Both are complete with original cases, paperwork and game card.  Just like new -- I take care of my stuff.

Bundle deal -- I won't split since I just want these out of here.

$12.00 shipped (or make me an offer).

** Note:  Shipping is for US buyers in the lower 48 states ONLY

I remember buying Landstalker from the clearance bin at the local KB Toy Store back in the mid 1990's.
What really resonates with me is the fact that it came packed with a fruit roll up inside.  For some reason, the fruit roll up company had some sort of marketing tie-in on this title.

Guess it's one incentive not to keep your games sealed.

That's pretty cool!  Good win for Microsoft!

Tenchu:  Return from Darkness on the original Xbox.

Tons of content and it's a challenge to get the highest rank on each level variant
#209
The original Dawn of the Dead.
I like the film and I always seem to catch or observe something neat each time I watch it.
#210
I've still held off on purchasing any.
But I must say, the Pac-Man one has my attention.

I bought an iPhone 6

Well, this is never a good thing to see.
But seeing as I've stayed away from the modern gen of games, it doesn't really impact me.

Konami was certainly a powerhouse during the 8 and 16 bit eras though

Great game, but damn is it short!
Yup. Did you get all the extra levels (like the RED one?)

Lots of fun.
No, not yet.
I think the extra chapter is only like 8 more levels?

Usually just coffee or water.
I don't like eggs, so that immediately limits my selection of traditional breakfast fare.

oh wow...I must have those buttons!  I love that classic CD ROM logo!

Nope, not for me.
I find breakfast restrictive.  I hate eggs to begin with, so that cuts down on the traditional choices substantially.

Laundry

I really despise doing laundry.  Particularly the sorting and folding part.

Game arrived today!
I'm super stoked to play this again!  Thanks again Mr Venom 8)

Is the boxed controller still up for grabs?

Thinking back, it would have to be either Lengendary Axe or Dungeon Explorer.
Probably Dungeon Explorer, because I tried to finish it with each character.

Quote from: SuperGrafx on 04/07/2015, 08:55 PMSuper Hydlide on the Sega Genesis was notoriously bad, but the soundtrack was varied and phenomenal.
Notoriously bad by people who were too stupid to read the manual and play the game, you mean.

Shadow of the Beast is an average game with awesome tunes.
I loved the game and it's realistic day/night, weight and food elements.
It's just that the graphics were so horribly bad and it was quite difficult to figure out what to do/where to go in order to progress.  Thank god there was a thorough walkthrough in one of the Genesis game mags of the day.

Sounds like no controller or cables.
oops.

Hooked on Phonics worked for me... :(
#227
Just a quick question...does the PCE console include controller and AC adapter?
#228
Idk.
The amibo fad seems all to similar to beanie babies and pogs.
That said, there are a few that seem appealing, but I'll be damned if I pay $13 a pop for them

I bought a bundle of old gaming magazines some time ago.
One particularly fun thing was seeing that someone had selected a game from one of the games dealers in the back pages.  The mail-away order form was carefully clipped out, and you could see handwritten notes on the page where the buyer had done the math and correctly factored in shipping and tax for his/her purchase.

Sadly, the game that this person appears to have selected was Acclaim's fortune/tarot NES game, "Taboo"...original MSRP was $39.99 in this particular advertisement!

I am the same. I own a jaguar because of raiden. I have it with a scart rbg cable to my sony bvm and that in it self is just an amazing experience with the best raiden port ever made (yeah ps1 is nice too but those loading times).
It's a remake, not a port.

I believe that the PSX and FM Towns versions actually use the arcade's graphics.

Raiden was one of the reasons I got a Jaguar the second time, but I found that I don't like that version's visuals.
Oh man how could you say such things! The visuals are amazing, unless your talking about the right side bar that does indeed take up a  large amount of real estate.
I was never impressed with the Jaguar's version of Raiden.
For all the hype and potential that we were promised about 64-bit power, this version is STILL lacking in many ways.  It should have been arcade perfect, but alas, we were given a Euro-ized interpretation (which I believe originated on the Atari Falcon PC) that falls short.
Pretty sure they its 2x 32bit chips not a 64bit and the jaguar version was the best hands down until ps1 released theirs. Still is is an amazing take on it. Vibrant colors, crisp graphics and a good soundtrack. It's the only game i play on my jag although it did come with cybermorph...but lets not talk about that.
Where did YOU learn to fly?

Quote from: guest on 02/23/2015, 04:45 PMI remember a few beverages that're gone (Surge, Crystal Pepsi, Zima, Orbitz, etc.), but I can't say I miss any of them.

For food stuffs, I miss Necco wafers and Clove/Blackjack/Beemans gum; they're still made, but I generally don't buy food online or visit hipster candy stores.  I also miss the old chili cheese burritos from Taco Bell; you can still get 'em, but I think the chili is a bit different nowadays and no fritos.
I've found Necco products (ie: Skybars, Clark bars, Necco Wafers) at Dollar Tree and Five Below stores here in the south.

The gum that you mention I think can only be purchased online.

Yes, I do.
One half was a Zelda inspired theme.
The other half was Mario.
If I recall both sides were fruit flavored, so the only difference was the shape of the cereal bits.
