This isn't a what game shouldve been on PCFX, its a what genre.
I wish there were more Boundary Gate style games.
Wizardry or Might and Magic would have been great.
LaserDisc arcade game ports. TimeGal, Road Blaster, Ninja Hayate, Triad Stone. They all got ported Saturn, PS1,
but no FX versions. They would have been a perfect use of the FX's FMV tech, still amazed it never happened..
Games in genres which don't require so many words!
shewties, shewties & shewties!!!
Then some more nice arcade ports of the mid 90s like capcom beat'em up stuff, plattformers etc. and some sega etc. super-scaler stuff :)
Action games. ANY action games. As far as I'm concerned, the PC-FX only has three real action games - Zenki, Zeroigar, and CCK.
It would've been nice to see a real side-scrolling platformer. Maybe they wanted to distance themselves from Bonk, but you'd think they would've encouraged a Valis game, or even a clone. It would have fit the system's image perfectly.
Platformers....
More action games in general, but shmups and platformers would've been preferred. A traditional fighter would've been nice, since all we got were the FMV ones and the unlockable mini-game in a dating sim. More adventure games would've been welcome, either side-scrolling like Last Imperial Prince or overhead a la Zelda.
The only platformer I can think of is Ruruli Ra Rura and it sucks for the most part. It reminds me of CD-i platformer garbage. Its ok, kind of.
Platformers- PC Gengin FX
Shewties- Air Zonk 3, Lords 2
Laseractive titles- Time Gal, Dragon's Lair
Fighters- Street Fighter Alpha, Kof- Nice 6 button controller, coulda been used for something.
Sidescrolling action- Run n' Guns, sword and whip games etc etc.
but yea, anything requiring less dialog would have been nice!
It needed Puzzle games too
Puzzle Bobble and magical drop would've been solid.
Platformers, shooties, and puzzlers - you can't have too many of 'em.
Games. Period.
i loled.

Totally agreed....amd with a built in english translation! :) The RPG/Adventure game genre is seriously lacking in the PC-FX line-up.

I'm with this guy. It's not like the PC-FX was brimming with any particular genre. I would have taken just about anything, but I love the look of 32-bit platformers and side-scrolling games like Last Imperial Prince. Shmups are always nice too.
Not brimming with any particular genre?
The digitalcomic/tittydatingsim genre is The biggest chunk of the library lol.
If I ever get the chance to code PC-FX games, my first mission will be to fill either the shooter or platformer niches... I lean more towards platformers, but a good shooter would be kickass too. Where's Sarancele when you need her?

Heh, I was gonna say that, but I know how sensitive some people are about that. I didn't want to be bombarded with, "It wasn't a dating sim machine!" responses. ;)

...yes it was! lol :)
Thats not ALL it was.
But, it is the predominant genre on it.
Kinda like how we have 8329 shooters on the PCE
just about anything that should use a game pad......not a mouse
Stuff that doesn't require knowing Japanese

Awesome English RPGs... and two-player beat 'em ups...
