So its been a little over half a year now since I rescued my TurboGrafx-16 from a box of junk at a garage sale and bought a small lot of games for it the same week off Craigslist and I am starting to crave some new games. I not to long ago traded some stuff on another forum for Bonks Revenge and Ordyne and those are keeping me plenty happy at the moment(Blazing Lazers is also soon to arrive in the mail) but I know eventually I'll get the craving again for some new HuCards and was wondering if you guys could give me some suggestions on some great games I should look for that won't murder my wallet. The games I currently own are listed below.
Alien Crush
Blazing Lazers
Bonk's Adventure
Bonk's Revenge
Keith Courage in Alpha Zones
The Legendary Axe
Neutopia
Ordyne
Pac-Land
Space Harrier
Veigues Tactical Gladiator
Vigilante
That's a nice start! I'd recommend Dragon's Curse and Dungeon Explorer. Both can be found for relatively cheap.
Thanks! :) I'm quite happy with my little collection. I'll definitely give those a look. :)
Bomberman, Final Lap Twin, Legendary Axe 2, Ninja Spirit, and Bloody Wolf are some of my favorites... all have good single player modes and can usually be found for reasonable prices.
Air Zonk is a bit more expensive, but is a must have, and can still be found for an OK price.
Found Dungeon Explorer, Bloody Wolf and The Legendary Axe II on here in a lot. Guess who is buying. :)
There is never ever Turbo stuff on Craigslist near me.
Listen, you need China Warrior or we can't be friends.
:)

I'll second Ninja Spirit, excellent game. What kind of games do you prefer though?. If you love shooters you've definitely picked the right console. I guess the genre I pick most is platformers although I like to mix it up. On TG-16 I also love Dungoen Explorer and Military Madness. For CD there's a lot of great games but I assume you'll just be wanting Hu-cards from the games you've posted.
Cool Avatar by the way. I love streamlined steam-engines.

I'll back up Ninja Spirit, my favorite platformer on the system. Splatterhouse is a great game to play around Halloween, though it will probably be past Halloween if you order it on ebay. I don't really like pinball but most people here enjoy Devil's Crush, the companion game to Alien Crush.
May I suggest Crater Maze? Its a simple little game, but its so addictive! I always loved this game, and it can be found fairly cheap... Matter of fact, I just bought a complete copy so if you want my loose copy, PM me your info. I will mail it to you, free.
Another vote for Devil's Crush. I like it a lot and it has tons of re playability. Another one that I enjoy is Military Madness. You can see videos of how it plays on youtube.
Not everyone likes it, but I really enjoy JJ & Jeff.
on top of that, I'd second Dragon's Curse and Splatterhouse.
If you end up getting your system region modded, you should pick up Override, New Zealand Story, and the first Schbibin man

Is that the game where you dig holes and trap enemies in them? I played that on my PSP during the last election around here. Addictive it was!
I'd personally recommend Cadash. It's uncommon, but can be found for around $30. It's worth it as IMHO, it's the best port of Cadash on a home system. It's a side scrolling action RPG and best of all, it's made by Working Designs who made the Lunar series.

Same here, the lot I got was a fluke. There is a TG16 w/ busted CD add on for sale on CL right now with a sealed but beat copy of bonk and a bunch of junk sports titles. I tried to buy the CD hoping to repair it but the guy was asking way to much.

I'll give this one a look then. :P

I like a variety of stuff, shooters, adventure(I love neutopia!), platformers, rpgs, pretty much anything. Your right by the way I am only intererested in getting HuCards currently, I'm looking around for a Duo-R and when I eventually get one I'll then start looking at CD games. And thanks the engine in my avatar is the PRR S-1. :)

Ninja Spirit is one I see popping up suggestions wise a lot, I'm definitely keeping an eye out for that one. Is there a lot of level variation in splatter house? The Video I just watched he was walking endlessly through a hall with no variation. Stuff like that tends to get to me in games. :P

I haven't played my copy of Alien Crush enough as is, I play by mood and the last time I was in a pinball mood I busted out my Virtual Boy for some Galactic Pinball. I think I'll go dust off Alien Crush after this post. :P Military Madness I think I'll need to read up on, I watched a video of it a few days ago and wasn't really sure what to think.

Dragons Curse looks awesome! Definitely looks like something I'd enjoy. I'll look up JJ & Jeff. I'm likely not going to region mod my TG16 since I'm planning on buying a Duo-R for some import goodness.

Is that $30 loose or with case? For the most part I'm trying to keep everything with a case simply for ease of storage. Though I'm sure I'll eventually cave on the more expensive titles. It looks like a fun game from quick videos I watched. I'll definitely add this one to the list. :)

Yes, it's with case. Any higher and you'd be overpaying IMHO
EDIT: FOUND ONE!

Wow, I've never seen that site before. Lots of Turbo stuff with halfway decent prices.

Welcome aboard! In addition to some of the other fine suggestions, keep an eye out for Parasol Stars, Time Cruise (more pinball), Galaga '90, Dead Moon, Bomberman '93, and Soldier Blade (the last two can get rather pricey, but be patient and you might get 'em for a fair price).

Wow I'm surprised as well. It seems like a great place.
It has one advantage over ebay........ it ain't ebay =]

Half of them are halfway decent. The other half are no better, if not worse, than eBay.
Madden for $50? World Sports sealed for $110? Bomberman '93 for $240? Give me a break.
The last company I worked for made the mistake of ordering Adobe Master Collection CS4 off ecrater and was sold a pirated copy. By the time we found out (one seat worked, the other didn't), the seller had disappeared and Ecrater did nothing to help us get our money back. It may have been a fluke, but I won't bother sending any more money their way.

Sadly this copy doesn't have the manual so I think I'll pass for now(yeah not really necessary but I'd like to have it too). But I'll definitely keep an eye out for it and snag it if it comes up for a good price with case and manual. :P

Thanks! :) I actually tried to trade for Parasol Stars over on AtariAge but I had nothing he wanted aside from some Jag stuff, which wasn't up for trade. Galaga 90 is already on my list :) and Bomberman even though I'm not familiar with the TG16 version would definitely be a game I'd be interested in. My little brother and I used to play the hell out of that game on our SNES. :P So what would be a fair price for Soldier Blade and Bomberman? I recall my local retro store once had a copy of Soldier Blade, I can't remember the price tag but I remember my jaw practically hitting the ground. lol
DID YOU GET CHINA WARRIOR YET.

No worries. One will pop up eventually. :]
I decided to give Alien Crush another go today since I haven't played it to much and man is it fun! If Devils Crush is better then this I'll definitely have to give that a look. Parasol Stars may be my next buy. Over on AtariAge a guy selling a copy offered me it for $45 shipped. I'm very tempted. :P

Sounds high to me; I'd show him this (http://www.ebay.com/itm/Parasol-Stars-Turbo-Grafx-16-Complete-Game-TG16-/260872824019?pt=Video_Games_Games&hash=item3cbd3b64d3) and offer a lower price.

I did just that and he brought it down to $42 shipped. I asked if he'd through in his copy of Side Arms he was also selling for $50 shipped and he agreed for the just slightly higher $50.50. So thats 2 more games for me to enjoy that will be soon in the mail. :)
