Title: fc mobile 2 screen
Post by: HercTNT on 11/29/2011, 04:32 PM
Maybe some of you modding wizards can help me with another idea i have. I have a Fc mobile 2 and frankly the screen sucks. How hard would it be to replace the screen with something like this: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/3-5-tft-lcd-monitor-visual-reversing-vehicles-reverse-camera-ntsc-pal-dc8-15v-49796

For lack of better understanding basically all i would need to find is the composite sync, ground, and 5v points on the fc mobile correct?  Or is it more involved than this?

Assuming both systems actually use composite video and not RGB or some ultra proprietary thing, yes. That and physically fitting it.

the fc mobile 2 has composite video output to a tv via a mini din plug. i'm tempted to attempt this mod as the FC is not rare and it would be nice for learning purposes.  That and its screen is horrible and i would not mind upgrading it.  Things i dont know are if the lcd would even run off of 5v directly. Does the power need to be regulated. MY plan was to simply solder the composite of the screen to the composite of the mini din, the power wire to the positive battery terminal, and then properly ground it.
