Hi Folks
I have just come across a pile of old magazines from the 90's which I had forgot about. Flicking through them I came across an article relating to the release of the SuperGrafx. It's not the best article I have ever read, however I thought that I would share it for those of you who may be interested.

"Grey Imports" — I love that. I can't recall a major North American publication ever openly acknowledging the gray market.
"Techno styling," indeed.
;)
Amusing bits include: ~ 'it is understood that technicians in Japan are developing a PAL version...'
... and... The vinyl linoleum backdrop for the photo shoot is not what I would have chosen!
Nice find. :)
4000 colors? Improved sound?
I wonder if it was the article author or the NEC rep who was making that up.
Thanks for sharing. :)

If by improved they meant Aldynes, then yes!

Though as inaccurate as all get out, nice find and thanks for sharing.

Heh, is this where gamesquad learned how to take product photos?

Heh, I had the same thoughts. :)
I"m still kicking myself for not picking one of these up at the retro gaming convention in Portland OR this last September. However, $250 boxed with no games, is a tough sell indeed.
There's gotta be something fun we can do with that port on the front... Any ideas?

LOL I thought the same thing! It does remind me of GameSquad's thieving auctions....

Ha! I didn't know who GameSquad was until MotherGunner's post... (I thought GameSquad was some British video game show that you all knew about! No joke!)
Anyway, (https://junk.tg-16.com/images/cook_1.gif)
Awesome article. Reminds me of the Feb 1990 spread in GamePro detailing the new Shuttle, Core and SuperGrafx PC Engine models.
Awesome article!
The SGX couldn't do 4096 colors? :(

I'd prefer a super-deluxe light-gun with
built-in GPU (the GPU would be for light-gun games only!).

Gotcha! The Sport! (NES) ported to the SGX DLX LT-GN. The SGX version would feature a storyline that closely followed the movie Gotcha (1985):

Yeah, and the PCE was released in November of 1986??
The most amazing thing about the magazine scan: 58p!? EGM was five fucking dollars!
Or maybe four...
