Check out the manual (PDF) that's in the game download; it's hilarious. The video shows off the game, but really it's much more fun that what the video shows off (don't watch all of it if you plan on playing it). It was pretty addicting. The game was developed in C for NES, using a modified lib of CC65. Shiru's been doing a lot with CC65 for NES lately, writing support library and such.
Looks pretty neat. Reminds me of a game I played on the C64, sort of.
Looks like more homebrew scenes than just the MSX are getting good treatment these days.

Shiru's been putting out quite a bit of homebrew stuff, although most of his recent stuff is for the NES. His port of Alter Ego for NES looks great ( http://youtu.be/XN-Z8S_MIH4 ). I need to sit down and give that one a real good playthrough.
