Tom and I have something special in the works for people who like Raiden and Super Raiden for the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16. I think you're going to like it. :)

yeah. I figured it was raiden that was getting the treatment I heard about on IRC yesterday. :D
TURNS OUT I WAS RIGHT.
hehe yea, i'm including both the PSX and Arcade OST, and Tom is making a little trainer that pops up before the title screen where you can switch between the two soundtracks and also switch the game to instant respawn (like the arcade) instead of the bullshit checkpoints. you'll also be able to change a couple other options, as well. like switching the game's aspect ratio back to its original arcade aspect, change the ship color and possibly removing the two bonus levels from gameplay (for purists).

I'm not a big fan of Raiden, but perhaps this will make me one. In any case, I'm looking forward to it. :D

Well, we're not fundamentally changing the game. Just making it more like the arcade. If you didn't like the arcade version, you won't like this.
I'm glad you are doing this, though I confess that, to date, the only versions of Raiden I like are the arcade, PSX, and PC versions. I suspect it is because Raiden isn't an especially original game, and what made it great was that it was the sum of so many little details, like good animation, sticky decals, and little fragments of everything you destroy flying all over the place.
Still, this adjustment might make me want to give this game another look on the PCE.
Is this gonna be released as a ROM image for emulators, or disc for our actual systems?

Yea, I was leaning towards an ISO patch (obviously) with the included soundtrack in OGG format.
