Hi all!

This form is simply lovely I'd never imagine to find anything like it in 2012!  =P~

Like many of us I got here because my sweet and lovely Pc Engine GT's sound died.

The fix looks easy thanks to your help and I'm trying to buy a capacitor that will live without problems when I'll be buried and my nephew's nephew will check what that black box with a tiny screen was.

Since I was opening the GT I took a look around and I saw that my dpad's rubber with contacts is almost broken.

What can I do to fix it?

Is there anyone who has parts to sell?

Is it the same dpad rubber you can find in standard pc engine controllers or it is specific for GT?

The Dpad is the same as what is in a pc engine controller. Maybe someone here has a spare pad or controller they could sell you.

I have a few spare pads, but your best bet is to find someone with a broken pad - you'll probably get one for much cheaper!

And in fact, since you just want the rubber pad, it would save you money on shipping just to buy that.

Ive got a controller for parts.  Pm me if you want just the dpad rubber. Just pay shipping.

I had news about different drugs they sell (av out, new screen, other black magic) and I am just thinking if send the little pc engine gt overseas is a good idea or not.

The dapd stuff is on the way. Fix that first then you can think about all the crazy awesome mods that can be done.

I think controller rubber is going to be a big problem in the next few years.  It's becoming increasingly hard to find vintage controllers for any system that aren't messed up in some way. I've also noticed that controllers never fully recover  if they're packed in a drawer with any of the buttons depressed for a few month/years.

true we need to source replacement parts

i work for company that manufactures rubber products for VWs which is pretty much everywhere on them. i also make my own dash pads for vw busses 68-79.  if someone wants to mail me a sample i can ask my mold maker/rubber guy if its possible. ill maill it back when done with it. just depends on how perfect or soft it has to be.
