Post by: VestCunt on 11/16/2005, 01:52 AM
I got Super Darius CD in the mail yesterday and it has Dolby surround which sounds pretty cool.
are there any other games with surround sound?
Also, Fatal Fury Special has Roland Sound Space.  What does that do?  i haven't noticed anything.

Roland Sound is very much like QSound. Its basically 3D stereo sound, but it requires you to place the speakers to  acertain degree apart, and on the same level.
The QSound and Roland Sound incorperated into games on PcEngine and Sgea Cd was only on the cd audio.
However,I do believe the SoundBlaster AWE64 supports QSound fully in hardware for some older pc gaming, and RSS is also supported in hardwar on older soundcards from the Doom days.
QSound was mainstream in CPS2.

if you're curious about RSS:

http://www.magicenginefx.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=1193&highlight=roland

check it out, there's a link that enables Roland to send a .pdf manual to you. I did this and it was neat to look through the manual, since I've never heard of RSS before...

Bullseye has a misleading auction that tries to trick people into thinking they're buying hardware instead of just video cables.

Once you dig through and fine the small part of text that says its just the cables, there's a line that says "Playing with SURROUND SOUND is amazing."

Even though 99.9% of the games don't support surround sound.

They even have a disclaimer for their $9.99 rca cables that says "(Picture is an INVENTORY PICTURE, Actual RCA Cords may vary in likeness.)" -even though the auction has no picture.

Even if they did, it basically means that they may pick them up from a different dollar store that day.
