For me, Lego Batman might have been interesting to see how it could have been made..
Curious how Halo or Portal would have been made as well....
Little Big Planet 2.
Tenchu; Stealth Assassin, Ninja Gaiden 2 & 3, Double Dragon 3.
Bayonetta would be cool in 2D or maybe Katamari.
Batman Arkham Asylum - probably a MetroidVania styled game
War for Cybertron - maybe a RnG styled game
Guilty Gear and/or BlazeBlue

I beat 'em up Final Fight/Streets of rage style or side scroller?
Fez, Braid, Cave Story, N+, and Limbo.
They would be so rokken in TG colors and HuChip tunes.
Tomb Raider

I totally agree on Cave Story and N+. Now I would love to also see a sidescrolling God of War, a Rayman game, Jet Set Radio sidescroller, Megaman 9, 10, Bit Trip Runner....... so many choices

A side scroller similar to Valis, but more over the top!
Okami, Marvel VS Capcom, Street Fighter IV, Odin Sphere/Muramasa/Princess Crown, Mega Man XI, Castlemetrolavaniaoids, Contra, Ys ( in particular: I & II Complete), Super Mario Bros, Zelda, MMORPGs, a 1st person shooter ala Faceball (3D walls), Fantasy Zone II arcade, Phantasy Star remake, PSO, Monster World IV, KOF, Metal Slug...
armored core
Super Meat Boy. That would be cool and pretty doable. I'll also go with the upcoming Retro City Rampage. If you like the original GTA titles and enjoy old 8-bit gaming, here we go. Not to mention, again, it is technically doable.
I would love to see a Diablo type game on the PCE. Maybe have graphics similar to Dungeon Explorer, or better yet, Neutopia. Hack and slash gameplay with 100s of weapons and a bunch of skills. Would be awesome!

I would enjoy this more than that same type of game on a newer system, due to the graphics. Too bad there is not the equivelent of Beats of Rage for Neutopia or Dungeon Explorer.
It's not really a "current game" but one of my favorite NES games is Faxanadu. I would have loved a Turbo version of that game and since it's an offshoot of Xanadu it would have fit right in. Would have been nice if Wonder Boy 4 would have came out on the PCE/Turbo to complete the series too.
I would have loved to see a tower defense game along the lines of Gemcraft (http://armorgames.com/play/1716/gemcraft). I've wasted so much time on that game.
Or maybe a turn-based strategy game. A port of Carcasonne (a physical board game) would be pretty cool. I know they released Stratego for the PCE. I wonder if it's easily playable without moonspeak knowledge.
Although not new, I vote for Ikaruga.
'Splosion Man
I would be happy with english translated versions of games the pce already had. That would make those games feel new to me.
Command and Conquer, complete with terrible FMV and 6 button gamepad support.
I would like to see the roguelike powder converted to turbo. I think it could handle it no problem.
VVVVVV would be right at home on the TG16, if fact it could probably easily be made for the TG16...
Another Castlevania game. Something along Symphony of the Night.
I mentioned this before, but I think Rabbids would be awesome on the Turbo. They could just take the concept of the party game and the humor and make a bunch of fun 2D mini games, and cool cut scenes.
Borderlands.
Just take Order of the Griffon and tweak it.

You had me at 6-button support.
Halo.
Shooter done 2-D like a contra game with a vehicle level here or there to mix it up.
There are plenty of great alien shooters on the system, this could have been another one.

That'd be pretty sweet, but I'd rather have Dune 2000 (to one up Sega and because I like Dune).
Ummm... Skyrim? :D
Splatterhouse, or Star Soldier
I'm not sure what current has to mean, but obviously any 3D games would have to be completely different 2D games. I would say something like N+ and Worms Armageddon would be awesome on the Turbo, though I'm not sure how the single background and sprite limit would affect the gameplay.
I think the 16-bit systems got the best Worms they could handle. There is a proto Angry Birds port to the Genesis that could easily be done on the TG16 as well, I'm not sure they could handle the physics of the actual game though.
I would love to see some of Zelda titles made available on PCE/TG16. Obviously the game for N64, GC, and Wii would be hard to do in 3D on PCE console but most Zelda games are done in 2D and could be ported.

It would have been AWESOME to have games in those series on the TG16!
Shining force series. Some of my fav Genesis games.
Any of the classic Megaman titles, the Ninja Turtles, the Splatterhouse sequels.
Konami Ninja Turtles Arcade
Dungeons and Dragons (think SNES knights of the round or a Saturn like D&D game)
ANY RUN n GUN!
Can't think of anything current, but Would love to see some of the oldies get some Turbo facelift.
Rampage, Battletoads, Contra... hell a cool light gun and games would be awesome!
mmmmm, a Contra on the PCE would have been splendid.
