Does the Arcade card work on the TG16 along with a game converter?
actualy he is asking the wrong question. what he means is does the arcade card DUO work on the american turbo duo with a converter. (I know because he pmed me with interest of buying my arcade card duo. I know the pro works like a charm. any input?
Yup, that is the questions thanks kakutolives.
Only the arcade card pro will work with a converter. A duo arcade card will not.

They both work (usually) with converters. All cards work with converters.
The AC Duo won't work on a TG-16 though, converter, mod, or otherwise, since it has no System 3.0 ROM. Only the Pro will work on a TG-16.
Basically the Duo was a cheaper version for people who already had systems with the 3.0 built in. The Pro will work on any system (converter or mod needed for US systems) since the 3.0 system on the AC will just override the one built in.

Yes, it will work fine. Arcade Card Duo, Converter, US Duo.
Fuck this is confusing, yes, it will work on a Duo...I thought he meant standard TG-16. I didn't read kakutolives's entire clarification.
20-some years later and you're still tripping up people NEC. Good job.
Aint that the truth Zeta. lol.
And the weekly Arcade Card question was brought to you by cptrave! Thanks for being our sponsor!

LMAO, so true:)
An arcade card DUO will only work with DUO systems. If you want to use an arcade card on a standard US Turbo grafx system you will need a converter and the Arcade card PRO system card.

...and yet it isn't strictly true! The AC Duo also works fine with any Core combined with a Super CDROM2.

Would it matter? There's the compatibility guide and a search button, and yet here we are.

Or better yet just make it so it blinks bright yellow on a red background for a real headache!
