I'm giving this a day before I bin them, but if you want all/any of them, just pay me shipping. Warning; I'm in the UK, and they're actually quite heavy for some reason. I reckon the whole box weighs about 10kg, maybe more
I think geise has a pc 98 so he might be interested

Cool, I'll PM him now
Oh man, I sort of want this.
I don't have a PC-98, don't know if I'll ever be able to get my hands on one (I have emulators tho') but man, those boxes.

If you just want the boxes, that might make it lighter.

:P Empty boxes are rather useless tho'
I just have this weird fascination with Japanese computers and their games.
Nice! Thanks for the offer but I'm not big on flight sims or wing commander. Plus I'm broke atm anyways.
Royal Mail's price tool said 10kg would cost £55.49 + VAT by Parcel force.
Looks like I might have to pass this up.
But binning them would be a waste : |

Agreed. Surely there's some local gaming nerds that'd take it.
Do you have any more pictures by the way? Just seeing a few of them makes me curious.
I'd maybe be willing to buy 1 or 2 from you for the pc-98 that I will get someday
Also, try other forums such as Shmups System 11 (http://shmups.system11.org/index.php) and the like. They sell a little bit of everything on the trading board - Saw a FM Towns Marty there some time back and a few Sharp X68K games so this might fit in there as well.
Post on the tokugawa corporate forums. http://fullmotionvideo.free.fr/phpBB3/index.php (http://fullmotionvideo.free.fr/phpBB3/index.php) Haha france loves pc98 and anything japanese. There are quite a few awesome folks over there.
That's Strike Commander, not Wing Commander you n00bs.
Would shipping by slow boat drop the price for shipping to a more tolerable rate to the US? A relative of mine has a PC98 and will likely be interested in them.
ughh.. I actually don't want to go through the hassle of joining other forums for this stuff, so if someone wants to be nice, then you can tell them if you have an account. But at the moment, I just have a box of crap in the middle of my room, along with a bunch of my ex's stuff, so... real estate is more important than some video games that no-one loves. Here's a video of the stuff, it's a bit crappy:

Wow. No offense, but that sure is a boring-ass box of games. Reminds me of the junk box of PC-98 games I didn't want that I sold off last time I moved. (doubles and other titles I had no interest in which I had acquired through buying auction lots)
...actually, I take that back. My junk box was much better than this one. :)

I'm just gonna pretend I didn't read this. No retro game, no matter how crappy, deserves to be defiled (AVGN, I'm looking at you) or separated from its original packaging. There could be someone out there who likes collecting old flight sims and crap like that for PC-98. You never know.
...so, is anyone a member on the Tokugawa boards? :P
Thanks for the video, I checked out some gameplay/openings from some of the titles I spotted and could find but...nothing really caught my fancy, I'm afraid.
Still, some of those games looks pretty good for their age, 3D and all. Probably were impressive back in the day. I agree with kazekirifx, surely there must be some PC-98 nut that wants these, if for no other reason than collecting.

Yeah. Username "kazekiri". But haven't been visiting lately. Maybe I should take a look today. I assume things aren't too active nowadays - they weren't last time I visited. I'm usually not too interested in the topics being discussed anyways... I'm really just into collecting the boxed games I want for PC-98 and X68k, and I have most of them already.
Yeah I lurk there on occasion. But it seems all the topics are just "Send me the ROMZ plz." It's a nice board for emulation peeps, but for actual computer owners it's a bit useless imo.
Well, their frontpage (http://fullmotionvideo.free.fr/) still says
QuoteThe Tokugawa staff wants to buy original PC-98 games and Technopolis magazines. Please send us your pictures and prices immediately!
So it might be worth a shot :P

Nice, emailed them ;)

I always found it useful when I had my PC-98 and X68k hardware with me. (It's all back in the U.S. right now.)
I found it useful for downloading Dojin games (which I don't care to collect actual disks of myself), and occasionally it is good for finding disk images of some of the rare games which I own, but do not have working disks for. If nothing else, it was a good place to find out what games exist are out there. There are so few places on the web that have information about these things.
For X68k I stick to Japanese sites, and NFG for hardware stuff. Of course the floppies won't last forever, but I happily pickup all original X68k doujins that I can when they turn up cheap. I love the hand drawn paperwork most of them had. For example:

Nice! Package weighs 8.5 kg btw.
Yeah... I'm not going to collect something that looks practically home made.

But that's the beauty of it! :o

But that's the definition of doujin.
Yep. Also why I don't collect anything doujin.
Actually, mostly because it opens up too many possibilities of more shit I don't need to collect.
Much easier to just say, "Nah. Stealing is justifiable when it's old doujin games."
...some of the best X68k and PC-98 games are doujin though.

Yes, but I haven't been lurking as often as I used to years and years ago.
I am "esteban" or "stevek666" over there, as well.
When they switched servers, years ago, I stopped visiting as frequently.
I can't seem to login to the Tokugawa boards with my old account (probably deleted), and there doesn't seem to be anyone around to approve my request for a new one, so I guess I can't post there even if I wanted to now.

I haven't tried yet. I forgot all about it until seeing this thread again.
I'll report back.
The french forum (where pce fans hang out) usually has some Tokugawa folks, if that helps.
