So outside of Cadash are there other D&D fantasy hack and slash games on the system?
:?:
There is a CD port of Golden Axe. I wouldn't really recommend it though, especially these days when the arcade version is available cheap/free on PSN and in Sega's arcade collections.
Knights of the Round and Kind of Dragons allow character to move across a z-axis, so the closest you'll find is Golden Axe, but it is quite inferior to the other ports. A Samurai-themed game, Takeda Shingen, allows for similar movement in a hack-and-slash style. Your best bet for medieval themed action games are platforming; I prefer Legendary Axe II or the Valis series.
Tenchi Wo Kurau/Dynasty Warriors is a traditional hack 'n slash like KotR.
Most people like to disqualify single plane games like Cadash, but if that what you're interested in, you may also like:
Kaze Kiri
Fausette Amour
Dynastic Hero
Shapeshifter
Iga Ninden Gau
Ys III
Xak III
Legendary Axe I & II
Bikkuriman World
Chiki Chiki Boys
Tatsunoko Fighter
Blue Blink
Valis I - IV
Dracula X
Renny Blaster

Learn to read, jerk!
I used Cadash since it's the only game I could think off that sort off fit the description. But yes Z-Axis Fantasy game was what I was looking for.
I'll have to check out Takeda Shingen and Tenchi Wo Kurau.
Thanks guys
I really thought the system would have more of this.
I like Takeda Shingen, but it could've used some extra move's or magic or something, not to mention 2 players.

Missed the top line #-o
So I did the emu thing and tried Takeda Shingen. Pretty fun game! There are for sure things I'd wish the game would have, but as is, it is still pretty solid; and I've only played for a little bit.
Curious that there hasn't been a homebrew of this sort of game yet.

Very few homebrew games have been made at all and they've mostly been smaller scale and/or simple games.
Double Dragon II and Downtown Nekketsu Kunio Kun, duh! DDII is one of the quintessential brawlers.

For sure meets the z-axis movement but they are more brawlers than fantasy hack-n-slash.

I've not given Takeda Shingen much attention before, but looks interesting :-k will give it a play tonight after a bit of anime.

This is true, but at the same time, if z-axis movement is important to you on the PCE, you're likely going to have to give up the fantasy hack-n-slash bit. Or develop (or fund/assist in development of) your own.
What your describing is basicaly the standard J-RPG, type game. That is the standard game, and I am sure you can have your "Swords and Sorecery" as well.
About Zelda Y's type games, if that is what you mean, the PCE has a few here and they, and I am missing probably three of them for the PCE, so far.
Give us some titles that is "Hack and Slash" to you??????

I gotta get the proof of concept for the RnG done before I tackle that one ;)
But yes, a homebrewed Hack and Slash in the vein of D&D Collection, KoTR - King of dragons seems to be "needed" ;)
I concur whole heartedly. Either a beat-em-up, a hack-n-slash, or both ; )
