I was watching random guitar videos while working and found this:

Is it just me, or do they sound the fuckin same basically?
Any other shit like this out there that we can listen to and laugh at?
PCE sounds better.

well yeah, anything sounds better than a 1980s vhs thats barely operational, being played through a VCR that's older than dick. :D
but, Gomola Speed is definitelyllyeryjhargj better anyways.
I swear there were some other songs in PCE games that sounded alot like real songs.
+1
I think you're right about there being more pce tunes with striking similarities to popular music, but I too am having a hard time coming up with any off the top of my head... I swear I saw at least a couple mentioned in random threads before.
I swear the tunes in Loom sound just like Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake (tee-hee).
lol, 101% identically :)
probably the UPL sound dude did that frank guitar tutorials back in the days..lol.
great find :)

I have noticed a bunch over the years, but at the moment all I can think of is that part of the King Braille track that is similar to the Metallica song One.

Slightly off topic however pat 3 of the Frank Gambale video has rock chicks ;-) LOL

Here is a vid from a few years ago that details some Video Game/ Pop music similarities. No Turbo though.

Hey prof. How abot some nice rounds of gomola speed :D
Gomola Speed is a really interesting game, anyway.
A few months ago, I had this weekend where all I played was Gomola Speed and Skweek. It was pretty sweet.
Yeah, add splash lake to it and a lot of fun is preprogrammed :)
This thread needed to be revived because GAMBALE SPEED.
Of course, the link doesn't work for me—can someone help find the damn GAMBALE tune that Arkhan was referring to? I think it was simply a tutorial/guitar lesson video (and I don't know if I found a strong connection between it and Gomola Speed's catchy tunes).
I suppose I could have simply added this thread to our recent list of "Video Game music that stole from Real Music" topic, but then I realized that...

The video doesn't work for me either. :(
I love some of the tunes in granola snake, though, with the exception of the carnival music & pirate shanty -.-
